1. Upon arrival, I noticed a few flies hovering around our reserved table. Though I requested a different table, the staff were unable to accommodate my request. However, they offer to kill the flies with an electric racket. I felt super uncomfortable as the dead flies fell onto the table, so I stopped him, the manager then said the flies will fly away as he turned the air conditioning higher.

2. the lack of staff during peak lunch hours. Only two members were serving the entire restaurant, and one of them (the female staff) had a bad attitude and was not very friendly at all. The service was super slow, no one was available to take our order and we were not offered any tea until I chased them for a few times.

3. when we tried to order four glasses of iced lemon tea, we were informed that only three glasses (?!) were available. The staff member seemed annoyed and didn't offer any other options nor explanation.

4. we ordered a fried rice, but the restaurant gave us the wrong dish. We did not realize this until a few minutes later when the staff member informed us that the fried rice was for another table. The manager/ staff took it away and went straight to another table. This was very concerning as the dish had been on our table for some time and was exposed to our saliva.

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was EXTREMELY disappointing, especially since I had brought my business partners. I would never visit the restaurant again and would never recommend to anyone.

Came for both lunch and dinner. Everything here is delicious, especially the radish puffs, claypot braised tofu, bbq pork buns, 水煮牛I will not be satisfied by a radish puff from anywhere else. I will not be satisfied by a radish puff from anywhere else. I didn’t even know how much I adore radish puffs until I ate here. These puffs embody the delicate contrasting textures that make dimsum so special.

I wish I lived or worked closer so I could visit even more often. It is a good meal for all times of day, and good both for a solo lunch or a group dinner (w/ reservation)

It's been a few years since I've had NOVE, and as my memory serves me the pork chop rice was delicious.Today we tried some dim sums, most of them were above par, especially the wonton in chicken soup and the prawn toast.The pork chop rice was of course one of the key dishes we got, the rice was a bit wet although the seasoning and the pork chop are still good. Of course we tried some new dishes too, the pot of Kai Lan was absolutely delicious, and very very hot. The dried shrimp were huge, and that added a lot of flavour and aroma to the pot.

OVERALL: Part of the Octavium group, the slogan “when Cantonese cuisine and Chiu Chow flavours meet Italian hospitality” embodies HFB’s East meet West culture! 👏🏼 Must call to book in advance to secure a spot. Overall good service, decent dimsum & spacious sitting - perfect for small group gatherings. They have another resto located  (1/F).

DISHES:
🥧Baked abalone and cheese tarts - served hot, although it’s mini sized, it’s compensated with the super rich cheese flavour with bits of abalone to add to the texture 🧀

🥟Steam vegetarian “eight treasures” dumplings - The variety of mushrooms, carrots and zucchini give a flavourful taste, good dim sum to order for veggie lovers.

🫔Rice flour rolls filled with crispy seafood roll - Pan’s favourite dimsum in the meal, the smooth & thin rice roll match perfectly with the crispy inner layer, mixed with big pieces of prawns. Yum!

🍄Braised e-fu noodles with enoki mushrooms - not a big portion considering the price being on the upper scale, not enough flavours 😕 overall not worth trying..

— My favourite dish of the meal, buns were so light and soft, and steamed to perfection. The custard was some of the runniest I’ve ever had and the egg yolk taste was super strong.


Pic 2️⃣: Steamed Egg White and Crab Meat Dumplings (西施蟹肉餃)- $55 hkd
— Very flavourful and with a generous amount of filling. The crab taste was fragrant, strong and well seasoned.


Pic 3️⃣: Flaky Turnip Pastry Puff (蘿蔔千絲酥)- $65 hkd
— Wasn’t a fan of this. Seemed a little under baked to me, it was quite damp and the colour of the puff pastry was very pale. Also quite greasy.


Pic 4️⃣: Black Truffle Chiu Chow Dumplings (黑松露水晶餃)- $40 hkd
— A strong black truffle taste. Loved the crunch that the vegetables gave the dish.


Pic 5️⃣: Baked BBQ Pork Buns (焗叉燒餐包)- $45hkd
— The buns were soo tiny 😂 but taste wise it was nice. The buns were super soft and fluffy, cha siu filling was slightly sweet for me.


Pic 6️⃣: Classic Prawn Toasts (懷舊蝦多士)- $55hkd
— Haven’t had these in so long and these definitely satisfied my craving. Toasts were crispy and flaky, the shrimp was super flavourful but more on the salty side.


Pic 7️⃣: Supreme Soy Stir-Fried Chow Mien Noodles (豉油皇炒麵)- $135 hkd
— The soy sauce was overly sweet for me, but that’s just a personal preference. Noodles had a nice texture and taste, vegetables were cooked well.


Pic 8️⃣: Rice Flour Rolls with Satay Sauce Minced Beef (沙嗲牛肉腸)- $65 hkd
— The satay sauce wasn’t particularly strong as I could barely taste it, but the beef was seasoned nicely.

Other Info. : 鹵水比一般的大膽地濃,香料味重,不是一般人能接受,若能輕輕調些冰糖緩和少許,可能更佳。 雖然是次只隨意點了一些食品,但已感到廚師功力。鹵水和高湯是優質的,絕對是一流之作。

The pork chop is super tender and juicy that you cannot resist. But to be fair, you can find this quality of pork chop in quite a number of restaurants especially in fine dining places. Their crown👑 is indeed earned by the incredible sauce. The flavours are very signature with dynamic sourness and sweetness from the fresh tomato sauce🍅 The use parmesan cheese unlike many restaurant to give up the 拉絲 effect which is just smarter in terms of taste. The fried rice base is 💯 with wok-hei and super grainy even with the sauce coating. This is also the most expensive💸 one I ever had but it is just worth it!

This XLB 🦞exceeds my imagination to dumplings. Crab meat XLB is way too basic in front of this stunning piece🤷🏼‍♂️ The steaming bisque inside burst out upon touch with bombing flavour to give an umami kick to the dish. A perfect East Meets West example and I can see the point of finding a foreign Chef as advisor🧐

A typical Hong Kong style 🇭🇰 dessert that I rarely enjoy as I don’t like sweet soup. I love the generous amount of pomelo for its citrus to make it less sweet and to ease the fullness as dim sum could be quite stuffing🤰🏼


Also, their interior design is so on point representing its East Meets West style and it showcases the unique Hong Kong culture in some subtle way. No wonder why Prada would come here for shooting📸
