this is my first visit to this mysterious cafe restaurant. I found it fascinating when i looked up at a building at Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay. The lights, the vertical banners caught my eyes (though i couldn't see what was printed on it) As i didn't have any plans that night, so why not go up and find out what is going on there.I walked up the stairs and found no signage for that floor (that's why i said it's mysterious earlier on). When i got up to the third floor, with some music playing and the bright staircase indicated this is the place. At the front door, there's a light box stating "gallery store & cafe". Interesting. I checked with the Ipad menu, there weren't too much choices to choose from , only 4-5 pasta and 3-4 pizza options for dinner plus a few appetizers as well. I finally ordered a pasta with smoked salmon($88), and iced tea with lemon ($50). The dish looked delicious itself. Taste-wise, the spaghetti was just perfectly cooked, with the creamy white sauce, i can finish the whole dish with the sauce alone, seriously! And i never thought of having so much smoked salmon in one single dish. I truly believe this is a good deal with this quality and quantity. The only thing i'm not sure about is the compulsory soup and salad set (+$40) during dinner period. But that's not a big problem as the soup and salad was above average as well. The soup was cream of pumpkin, which was rich and creamy; the portion seems little, while it was just fine, otherwise it would be too full before the main dish. The drink was served in a large glass mug, which is pretty nice. Iced,tea with lemon won't give me much surprise as long as it is cold enough and a few slices of fresh lemon. They did it. 自從離開上一份工作後,這一年間都在埋首自己的事業,跟從前相熟的同事說好的飯局,今天終可兌現。朋友喜歡試新餐廳,所以事前就在開飯網找了幾間新餐廳讓我們選擇,最後在少數服從多數下,我們就定了飯聚的地點。******************************餐廳位於一座唐樓內,距離銅鑼灣港鐵站其實只有一分鐘路程,但根據開飯網的門牌號數(駱克道506號),在駱克道來回了幾遍,才發現原來入口在一棟寫上508號的大廈內。雖然說是唐樓,但大廈明顯有翻新過,樓梯都非常明亮整潔,絕不是恐怖片中幽暗並充斥著霉味的店樓可比。甫達餐廳所屬樓層,樓梯的左右兩邊都屬於餐廳範圍,而我們則被安排坐進右邊的房間。餐廳主要分兩個區域,一邊是用餐區,另一邊則放了不同的手工藝術品寄賣,據說亦有部份裝飾品是餐廳從夜冷鋪購入的。陽台上還放有兩張小圓桌,以玻璃趟門相隔,方便需要呼吸的食客。Apple & Rose($55)飲料呈淺杏色,從外表看怎樣也想不出跟Apple或Rose有關,應該沒有加人工色素。入口是非常清甜的蘋果味,真有點像吃蘋果的感覺,帶有淡淡的玫瑰香味,而且還飲到一點點蘋果渣,明顯沒有加太多水,非常足料。附送的麵包麵包非常軟熟,隨麵包捧上的蒜蓉牛油,離遠已聞到很香的蒜蓉味,配麵包同食,簡單得來又美味。Zwing Wings($98)雞翼可點6隻或12隻,由於有韓式和薑蜜兩款味道可選,我們想兩款味道都試,就點了12隻,每人都可試這兩款味道。韓式就是甜甜辣辣,不過其實辣味極之輕微,對於嗜辣的人幾乎都吃不到辣味,不過味道都算可以的,而且雞肉嫩滑得來也入味。而薑蜜蜜糖甜味較重,反而薑味不太突出。Four Cheese Pizza($128)每晚18:00至22:30,主菜只要加$40就可轉套餐,可以有沙律和餐湯。沙律份量都算多,沙律菜顏色翠綠,入口爽脆,配上沙律汁味道都不錯。湯是南瓜湯,忘記拍照。Pizza直徑約11吋,內有8塊。餅底是屬於薄底,入口都頗香芝士味,不過捧上時不太夠熱,芝士也沒有拉絲,餅底亦有點韌口,味道只屬一般。Crabcake($80)Crabcake就是蟹蓋內釀有薯蓉和洋蔥,上面再澆上醬汁,每隻蟹蓋約有掌手大小。薯蓉入口有淡淡牛油味和洋蔥的甜味,味道不錯。Poached Pear in Rose Wine($55)啤梨被玫瑰酒染至酒紅色,盛在一玻璃杯內。啤梨入口軟腍,帶有淡淡玫瑰酒香味,酒味不算重,入口微甜,味道不錯。Bailey's panna cotta($45)奶凍上面鋪上朱古力brownie和穀物。奶凍入口香滑,能嚐到bailey's的淡淡酒香味,brownie朱古力味香濃,口感軟腍,再配上微脆的殼麥,口感非常豐富。Parfait($68)侍應在捧上這甜品時,特意提醒我們在放甜品於杯內時,不小心把杯腳弄玻,著我們要小心。但有部份沒留意侍應說話的朋友,都以為甜品杯子是故意弄成這樣的,還說現在的賣相更特別,更有美感。杯內除了葩菲外,還有棉花糖、士多啤梨和殼麥,不單顏色豐富賣相吸引,葩菲奶味頗重,甜味配著士多啤梨的酸味,兩者非常搭配。由於是新餐廳的原故,是夜雖然是星期六晚,但餐廳也只有兩三枱食客,所以雖然我們很早已經吃完,但仍可以邊聽著餐廳播放著的音樂,邊聊聊大家的近況,不怕被侍應催促著買單。說實在,主菜味道普通,慶幸甜品沒有令人失望,價位也屬位理水平。如果找一個地方能輕鬆聊天,這裡也是不錯的選擇。******************************附上餐牌以供參考: continue reading

約左朋友傾野順便聚舊食飯,但又諗唔到食咩,家姐提議我黎loveforsale x zwing cafe, 佢話一定有驚喜。但本身好怕去cafe(可能經歷過食物難食,服務其差,環境被二手煙包圍etc),但家姐highly recommend 咁我本住一試心態上去。首先呢間cafe唔算難搵,響義順隔離條樓梯上,3樓對我黎講都ok唔算太吃力:)一入到cafe我心入面嘩左一聲,因為同我想像中既cafe好唔同,我坐低叫左杯Rose Tea Latte, 呢個又係家姐介紹必試,真係超好飲,好香玫瑰味同最重要唔太甜。Serve我個位靚仔都好有禮貌,但個樣比較cool 等朋友黎既期間,另一位店員招呼我,佢介紹我cafe入面既所有野,有自製玫瑰露,玫瑰醬,美國入口既天然蠟燭,沖涼液,肥皂etc,好多正野,成個cafe好藝術feel, 令到我好relax。後尾朋友黎左,我地分別叫左set dinner同雞翼。個雞翼又係另一杰作,我地點左韓式雞翼,唔算太辣但好惹味。本身好想試甜品但太飽關係唯有等下次,臨走前買左2罐蠟燭,因為做緊半價,超抵。我諗我第時響銅鑼灣行街行都累都會返黎呢到飲杯latte hea下先走因為超舒服。 continue reading

環境撐過三層樓,對冇做開運動嘅朋友嚟講的確辛苦... 但辛苦完就會有一片靚靚天地等緊你!話說有邊係做散客嘅小cafe,今晚包咗場所以坐左邊嘅房。一推門入去就係open kitchen,大廚Carl已經準備緊食物;旁邊係一張有6個位嘅高檯,麻煩晒Otto幫我哋擺滿細燈仔及玫瑰等裝飾:再旁邊有兩張梳化及茶几,未開飯前可以坐低吹吓水先。為咗營造浪漫氣氛,佢哋專登較暗咗燈光,不過今晚每位賓客都係相機未食人唔准食嘅朋友,所以都係麻煩Otto將燈光較返光啲啦,哈哈...為咗紀念今年咁特別嘅生日,我決定由搵地方到安排埋menu都係自己搞掂!今晚個menu有5道菜,$350一位。其實要喺銅鑼灣搵到$350*6已經可以全晚包場,要地方乾淨又要食物好味嘅地方真係唔多...Drunken chicken wing and shrimps兩條小蘆筍軟硬適中,蘆筍味香濃;原隻蝦同樣用玫瑰露酒先浸暈,然後連酒帶蝦一齊煮熟,配合返呢度嘅招牌玫瑰糖漿(上一篇食評有介紹過)做汁,一陣陣嘅花香夾雜酒香,好易入口。有別於其他先煮熟再浸酒嘅做法,咁樣既可以保存酒香之餘,烹煮嘅過程中又可以將酒精完全揮發,所以食幾多都唔怕醉。怪不得唔飲酒嘅我喺食完呢道菜之後,雖然成個口腔都充滿酒味,但唔會覺得唔舒服Cream of pumpkin南瓜湯色澤金黃,口感濃郁香甜,細緻綿密。但對於鍾意南瓜嘅我,雖然味道就足夠喇,但如果加啲南瓜蓉我會更加開心焗釀蟹蓋 on mashed potato with crab and avocado salad兩層沙律有驚喜,上層係白身蟹肉加芒果,再加少少魚子醬點綴,比普遍地方用蟹鉗肉更講究;下層係有牛油果粒嘅果蓉,口感十足而且味道清新;另一邊就係焗釀蟹蓋,一冷一熱,帶出食蟹嘅多變化Norwegian salmon baked in lemon dill sauce with spaghetti in pesto sauce蒔蘿(Dill)呢種香草同三文魚就好似牛郎同織女咁係天生一對。三文魚係大廚Carl親自揀最肥美嘅腩位,先煎後焗,配微酸嘅蒔蘿檸檬汁,正正可以中和返三文魚腩嘅油脂;意粉偏硬身,口感十足;pesto sauce有蒜頭同大量basil,再用少少黑椒及鹽吊味,味道簡單而且唔會過鹹。但個人覺得蒜頭可以再重手啲!薯蓉薯仔味超濃郁而且好有牛油香草味,所以非常好食,連平時話要減肥唔食得多嘢嘅朋友仔都叫Carl將所有薯蓉俾我哋吖!Bbq baby ribs朋友C突然大叫一句,“BABY RIBS呀!!!”,個個即刻將目光轉移到廚房位置。一盤熱辣辣嘅豬肋骨啱啱出爐,雖然未做到骨肉分離,但一切就切得開。而且醃得非常香濃,雖然我唔食得辣,但用辣椒粉醃過嘅肉真係好惹味啊!Rib-eye steak with roasted potatoes牛扒有啲韌,不過總算肉味香濃,但下次我會揀baby ribs玫瑰士多啤梨蛋糕蛋糕底係蛋白蛋糕,中間夾一層加左呢度招牌嘅玫瑰醬鮮忌廉,再有啲士多啤梨,既有玫瑰香又有士多啤梨甜香,徘徊在似酸又甜之間..... 當日話嚟開生日Party嘅時候,我話好想要唔甜嘅玫瑰生日蛋糕,多謝晒老闆阿Chris及Carl反覆嘗試為我做咗呢個咁靚又低糖嘅自家製蛋糕!最尾點可以唔飲返杯招牌Rose tea latte呢?為今晚生日party畫個完美句號 continue reading
