Travelled all the way to Mui Wo because they had new items on the menu. They had battered sausages, bread and butter pudding and really irresistable pies of the day. They have new chairs with blue cushions that are really comfortable.Sea view.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★New set:★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★New menu:★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★BLT Roll:These were gorgeous and loaded with delicious lean bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Each bite was moreish and tasty.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★A salt and battery:The sausages come with their homemade sauce which tastes like a concoction of HP sauce and Branstons pickle. The Yorkshires sausages were amazing with a strong herb taste and a lovely crispy batter on the outside. However the fries were a little dark because of the starch. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Bread and butterpudding:The size of this was HUGE and the bread and butter pudding was surrounded in generous delicious Bird's eye custard. How could you not love it.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Tea:Simple tea with milk and sugar was just perfect.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Pie of the day with shoestring fries:This pie was better than the other pies on the menu because it had bacon, egg, baked beans and sausage.Utimately a Breakfast pie!! Before I ate it, I was curious if the egg would be a sliced hard boiled egg or mashed egg but it was actually a fried egg omelette in the middle which was tasty, and the bacon, sausage and beans definitely tasted good together.  ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★All day breakfast:A lovely fry up with my favourite earthy mushrooms and a delicious sausage.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★◎ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ◎The bill: $2XXService: OKService charge: noYummy factor: greatNoise levels: NoneGlass of water provided: yesEnglish Menu: YesAir Conditioning: Yes◎ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ◎ continue reading

I have eaten here a number of times when the resturant was newly opened and each time was exremely impressed. The classic 'fish and chips' here is not like the soggy take out you get in England, it is gormet resurant style!K's is a friendly family owned business. The waitresses are young, fresh and really helpful. From living in Hong Kong a while now, I am usually disapointed but the poor service and unfriendly servers you get in local eateries around HK Island and Kowloon. These girls are a breath of fresh air, always smiling and are quick to answer any quesions about the food or pricing. Quick to serve food, especially considering everything is made to order! They deserve tips!My favourite dish is the steak and kidney pie. You can actually chose which two sides you want with it. I went for the classic beans and mash. The portion size is HUGE! It's just excellent value for money that can also be hard to come by in HK these days. I didn't leave until I'd licked my plate clean. The mash is just.. wow.. I haven't been to a place that does real mash potatoes since..well, probably my Mum's home cooked meals years ago. After complimenting the mash, one of the girl's told me they use both BUTTER and CREAM! That's what makes it so rich. The pie is hearty and deliciously stodgy. Perfect homemade light pasty, extemely generous filling of locally souced meat and did I mention EXTRA ONION GRAVY? In a gravy boat! My mouth is watering just thinking of it! I defintely hope to go back and visit soon.Easy to find, although they're tucked between Chinese resturants in the cooked food market, this place really is well worth the half hour ferry ride to Mui Wo and especially well earnt after a hike in the picturesque surroundings.I hope K's achives all the success this hard-working family business that prides itself on excellence so deserves. continue reading

Took the fast ferry into Mui Wo and spent the day out there and ventured into the cooked food market next to the ferry pier for some food. Decided to eat at K's British resturaunt because there really aren't enough British food places in Hong Kong and I actually caught a glimpse of one of the tables eating and the portion sizes were big and the food smelt incredible!Didn't have to wait at all for a table because it was quite early for dinner when we went, lovely waitress served our menus and had crayons and paper for my son to color.Ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which came with mushy peas and mash potatoes, side order of chips and bangers and mash.We were very hungry so we dived straight into the Bangers and Mash as soon as it hit the table, the sausages are JUST DIVINE. Proper British sausages, crisp on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. My son LOVED it, the chips are really really top notch. Thick chunky chips, real ingredients - proper cooking! Now on to my Pie. I was in two minds about which one to order - actually I wanted to order the fish and chips but a good pie is a rare find in Hong Kong so I went with pie. And even that I struggled with which to choose from, they have steak and kidney as well!, I ended up choosing the Chicken and Mushroom and I don't regret it one bit!The crust of the pie was so light and crisp and once you cut through the pie, the gravy spilled out and the taste was just... I can't even describe it... the chicken meat was very tender and the mushrooms was really blended in very well - it was all complimenting one another. Mushy peas were awesome but what stood out and this deserves its own seperate paragraph:Mash potatos are to die for. There are so many places that get lazy on their mash potatoes and either use sick substitutes or not enough ingredients to make it the right consistency. Here, K's British does such a beautiful job of the mash - there's enough butter in there and it's smooth and *real*.The best part is theres so much of it to go with your pie and your sausages that by the end of the meal, you are really really satisfied. Size portions are big - so you are really getting a good decent meal for the price you pay. It's located right next to the ferry pier so I am definitely going to go back to try their other items. The resturant is family run and the lovely waitress is the daughter of the cook - both friendly and warm people. You can really tell the owner puts a lot of love in the food she cooks. The decor is lacking but the food makes up for it leaps and bounds as too does the service so you walk away not even really bothered by the decor. I most definitely would recommend this place - it's a great find and I am really really pleased there's finally an authentic British restaurant in Hong Kong!  continue reading
