Healthy eating is always something that is top of my list when it comes to eating. When I'm not eating out, my meals are fairly balanced and healthy. I'm always willing to try food that is healthy or considered a power food. Things like kale, chia seeds, organic sprouts ... I usually have some of this and that in my pantry. Kale is a casual restaurant located in Sheung Wan. They offer salads, power juices and cute as a button mini sliders. The menu is all in English. There is no Chinese though staff do speak Chinese. Layout of the restaurant wasn't much of anything. I would say the decor was a bit stark. You basically order, pay and sit down to wait for them to serve you. There is no 10% service charge.
I came for lunch where they have various lunch sets. During lunch period, you can get a juice for an additional $25. I ordered a two slider and mini mixed salad set for $100 and a juice for an additional $25.
Kail Juice (Originally $40 but with set now $25). This is basically kale, mint, cucumber and apple. Though it looked very sickly green in color, it tasted pretty fresh. There was a strong cucumber taste above all.
Sexy Bite Mixed Salad. As part of the set, I had a choice of beetroot, quinoa or kale as my salad. I chose quinoa and beetroot. I should have added kale as there was a bit too much beetroot for my liking. But for a smaller sized salad, this was pretty huge and I honestly couldn't finish it. Quinoa was underseasoned and thus tasted bland.
Chicken and Tofu Sliders. These are seriously the cutest things ever. I ordered chicken and tofu and they came in a black and white buns with a heart shaped toothpick. SO CUTE! These were really good. They tofu was grilled perfectly with a generous spread of olive oil. The chicken was moist. There was also a piece of kale in place of regular lettuce usually found in sliders.
A nice healthy lunch and I was pretty full. I would definitely return for the sliders again as I think they tasted great.
