I decided to stop in Mr Taco Truck for lunch as I was craving Mexican and I work nearby.The place was completely empty at noon on a Thursday, I was surprised to see a place in LKF empty during the lunch rush, and I probably should have taken this a bad sign. Unfortunately I decided to stay.I ordered the taco lunch set: Beef tacos, tortilla chips, beans and Mexican rice. It came to about $60. The tacos were OK...just OK. I ordered the taco lunch set: Beef tacos, tortilla chips, beans and Mexican rice. It came to about $60.
The tacos were OK...just OK. Meat tasted fine, but the tacos were very small and pretty greasy. Came with absolutely no trimmings at all, except for a sprinkle of coriander. Would have liked some toppings...anything. Pico? Onions? Cabbage? Anything?!?!
On the side were two sauces. The beans were edible, albeit mushy and pretty tasteless. The rice was the worst offender on that plate. It tasted like It was made a week ago. Stale, mealy, dry, flavorless. Just awful. How hard is it to make fresh rice? They should not be charging people for that crap. it also came with about 6 tortilla chips...ay yaa.
Overall the meal just didn't seem fresh. It tasted like old, reheated, lazy food and looked just as appetizing as that sounds.
So for $60 I got two OK tacos with no toppings, refried beans, 6 chips and disgusting rice. Oh, and a lukewarm Sprite.
If you're looking for a nice place to grab a quick lunch in LKF, steer clear of this place. Maybe their dinner menu is better, I'll never know because I'm certainly never eating here again.
