This is written to respond to those really bad comments of this restaurant particuarly those who bought group buy. I also bought group buy at $199 (including 10% service charge) per head for hot pot. I booked at table at 8:15pm, I arrived 5 or 10 minutues early and I was offered a table without any problem. We did order the 鮮魚湯底 and there is no extra charge, the taste in fact is quite good. The other normal hot pot items are all you can eat. Agree that the quality of food is normal but is still above average. Their deed fried fish skin is very fresh, vegie is fresh. The only items I will critize will be the so call lobster ball which tasted like those fake crab meat ball.
The service is also quite good, the waiter explained to us the order process and what can be chosed etc. He also came to refill soup many times without our request. When we passed the first order paper to the waiter, after a while the waiter handed in another order paper, we did not even need to ask. It was all came to us automatically. The waiter did not also request us to leave by 10:30pm, we ate and sat there till 10:40pm.
Overall, I did not find my experience there as too bad, indeed much better than i expected after seeing all the bad comments. $199 per head I think is acceptable. Imagine we will at least pay more than $300 for hot pot if we ordered al la carte in any of the restaurant, some even charge more than $500 per head but the quality does not necessary reflected by the price.
No free lunch in the world, what we are paying is what we are getting including group buy. Don't expect to get $600 quality of food if we pay only $200.
