I recently moved to Kennedy Town, and have been told that over the last two years, many new restaurants have popped up particularly western restaurants.  Sunday morning , I'm sure most people are like me where they feel like heading out for brunch.My husband and I decided that we should try and find a brunch place in KTown instead of heading out to Central.A friend recommended catch and said they do amazing brunches , so off we went.I ordered the "Smashed Avo" and added chorizoI personally love

I personally love avocado - and they had it seasoned perfectly with mint, feta and on top of toasted sour dough with poached eggs - healthy and delicious!

My husband decided to go with the "big bad Ben"

Slightly less on the health aspect- but I have to say the idea of putting chorizo, bacon and poached eggs together with hollandaise on top of hash browns is brilliant!

The service was excellent and this will definitely be my new brunch spot moving forward!!!

點了steam clams,beramundi, fish and chips. 前兩者都不過不失,但fish and chips就略為失望了。出事在fish batter, 不夠脆,tartar sauce 都hae hae地,但fried chips 就幾好。

To start with, don't bother sitting at the high tables and stools.  The tables are so high it makes dining uncomfortable.  Get a seat with the low tables.   Food ordered was the prawn and avocado salad, and fish spring rolls. The salad comes with far too much mayonnaise, turning a healthy option in to a fairly gluggy salad.  The prawns were fine.  The fish spring rolls were very poor.  The texture of the fish is like that of fish that had been frozen and all they taste of is the deep fried roll.

同友人曾係堅尼地城工作過一段時間,轉工後想特意返黎呢個老地方相聚一下,加上港鐵通車之後開左咁多新餐廳,當然要試試。經店員介紹, 點了BIG BAD BEN, 咩都有D, 最特別係佢加有"chorizo", 係一種辣肉腸, 成份早餐味道好有新鮮感, 岩喜歡食辣既朋友!店員態度友善, 但如果早餐包野飲就perfect啦~

經店員介紹, 點了BIG BAD BEN, 咩都有D, 最特別係佢加有"chorizo", 係一種辣肉腸, 成份早餐味道好有新鮮感, 岩喜歡食辣既朋友!

店員態度友善, 但如果早餐包野飲就perfect啦~

題外話/補充資料: 唔知係咪要通風, 我地食食下途中, 店員把我身後既門打開左, 係冷氣同街度既熱氣相沖之下就唔係太舒服

It's a weekend morning, and I have been suffering from work-related depression and recently been to a few restaurants being so overpriced with bad food. I decided to treat myself in this nice spot in Kennedy town. It only opens in the morning during the weekends, with another brunch menu which can be found in their website. I decided to go for BWT - stands for bacon, water cress, tomato in fried white bread + japanese mayo and served with potato fries ($128). I also ordered a glass of iced mint

It only opens in the morning during the weekends, with another brunch menu which can be found in their website. I decided to go for BWT - stands for bacon, water cress, tomato in fried white bread + japanese mayo and served with potato fries ($128). I also ordered a glass of iced mint tea ($40). When the food came I knew I picked the right thing. The food's presented on a wooden tray. The sandwich bread was fried to golden yellow colour, and it was loaded with HUGE amount of watercress and bacon. They tasted so fresh and well matched. The fries was put in a separate metal bucket and it was normal. The mint iced lemon tea was refreshing and I could taste no added sugar in it. The staff's service was excellent too. For this price, it definitely is an excellent deal. I won't go to other places for weekend brunch in the future.

上次初嚐這餐廳到現在已幾個月了, 一直遺失了這批相片終於尋獲了可以和大家分享.  這次經分行同事邀請一夥兒齊來豪爽LUNCH TIME.  點解咁講呢, 因為這裏始終是舊區, 所以太多老店價錢優惠, 午餐幾十蚊已有交易.  但隨著地鐵既發展, 很多舊樓已變成貴樓, 住客亦年輕化國際化, 餐廳小店看準時機, 便慢慢將這區變為SOHO西區, 變相連LUNCH MEAL都高貴了.  這間Catch on Catchick, 店子細細位於街角位置, 落地玻璃摺門一開, 光線十足既半露天茶座FEEL.  高高既樓底, 掛上藤製吊燈, 夠簡約.  Starter ~ Smoked salmon salad: 初嚐新鮮fennel好爽脆清新, 有些似蘿蔔絲, 又有些似洋蒽絲, 但好多汁, 配似薄荷蕃石榴粒既酸酸醬汁好開胃.  好fresh!!!Main ~ Catch fish wrap w/fries & salad: 魚柳外脆內軟, 看似份量少, 但配以薯條其實很飽.  薯條是仍見薯皮, 炸得好香脆.喇沙: 湯底頗有蝦味, 但在西餐廳食喇沙覺得不太化算rib-eye: 肉質軟熟, 唯獨over

rib-eye: 肉質軟熟, 唯獨over cooked, 不是medium, 叫4份只有1份才是medium, 相反較欣賞伴碟既薯蓉很creamy

Dessert ~ Cinnamon doughnut w/white chocolate sauce: 好heavy好吸引既甜品, 好大粒, 喜歡這個鋁質籃子.  白朱古力汁似vanilla sauce又似練奶, 突然感覺好中式, 好似點更饅頭.  但比起一般既cake/mousse/ice-cream更有新鮮感.

I had visited Catch for dinner the other week, and had almost the entire appetizer menu to try out what they had to offer, and went back again this morning for brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and the experiences!First I will review my last week's dinner visit. I went with my husband for a nice weekday meal and we wanted seafood. I had visited Catch for dinner the other week, and had almost the entire appetizer menu to try out what they had to offer, and went back again this morning for brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and the experiences!
First I will review my last week's dinner visit. I went with my husband for a nice weekday meal and we wanted seafood. We were seated at a corner back table, with only one table beside us, and a lovely lady who must be a frequent patron suggested some dishes to us. We decided to try the pint of shrimp, the grilled octopus salad, the seafood spring rolls, the scallops, and the spinach and goat cheese appetizer. The presentation of the dishes were something I really liked about this restaurant. I think it really tells customers that the establishment cares about food quality and understands food lovers. The pint of shrimp was a fun dish - served on a board with a large glass pint filled with shrimp, a half lemon tied inside a cloth, and 2 sauces for dipping. You have to get your fingers dirty, but that's the fun of it! Next, the grilled octopus salad was okay. Nothing was bad about it, but nothing stood out too much too. I wished there was more of a charcoal/grilled taste to the octopus pieces though. For the spring rolls, I was wary as I don't always like a fish taste in my spring rolls. These ones however, were delightful and served in a cute deep frying basket! They were a nice blend of crunchy roll, seafood and vegetables. I found I didn't even need to use the dipping sauce, as the flavours went so well together already. Now the scallops were my most anticipated dish - as I love to try scallops at any restaurant I visit. These were divine. The cauliflower puree on the bottom was a sweet, creamy surprise to my taste buds! I liked the pico de gallo-like toppings on the scallops too. They were perfectly cooked and the proscuitto (?I think that's what it was?) pieces gave a nice salty taste. I will definitely be back for these! Our last dish was the goat cheese and spinach puff with an apple/hazelnut salad. I think this tops them all! It was sinfully good - and was like dessert to me. The rich goat cheese with flaky pastry was the perfect ending to my meal!
As for today's brunch, it may have been one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. After an awful experience the other day at a different restaurant, I really wanted some good food for this morning's brunch. I remembered how delicious my dinner was at Catch and decided to try it for brunch. Boy am I happy I did! Me and my husband both ordered Big Bad Bens and cappuccinos. Whenever I have eggs, I ask for them to be hard-cooked, and my husband asks for his to be soft and runny. Many restaurants don't get our orders right, so I was hoping today Catch could change my luck. Our cappuccinos arrived quickly, had a delicious creamy taste, and the coffee had a nice flavour. The light blue cups and saucers were also very cute
(where can I find these...) I also have to make a side-note and have to compliment on how well this restaurant is run. Overhearing the staff working together and how well communication is between the kitchen and the serving staff, really showed me this place knows their stuff, and will keep me coming back. So, now back to the food ... Our Big Bad Bens arrived in an exceptionally reasonable amount of time (Catch was also quite full now), and looked to-die-for. I loved how they were served on hash browns and not a type of bread. The combination of the meats (ham and chorizo) was very tasty, and the avocado slices gave the dish such a different delicious flavour, I wondered how other places had not thought of this flavour combination before. As for my eggs, they were hard-cooked as requested! And my husband got to have his runny. I even overheard the chef tell the server specifically that mine were hard-cooked to make sure to give the correct plate. Maybe my luck has finally changed! Or maybe I have just found a restaurant to frequent more often!
My experiences were fantastic, but you must try out this gem of a place for yourself! It's just too good of a place to not tell others about!

This new restaurant opened recently in Kennedy Town. It is a modern designed Western restaurant serving casual meals with semi-outdoor seating area. There is a good selection of foods in the menu. We had the sea perch sandwich, catch fish & chips, BWT breakfast and a Big bad Ben. The food was excellent, they have friendly staff and was good value for money. Also, the coffee was great! (They have Melbourne style lattes). Perfect place for brunch and highly recommend it.

今天剛好在Taste shopping完之後決定要吃個brunch,然後看到Jaspa's客滿就走多兩步到這家新開的Catch on Catchick試一試。店裡的裝潢簡潔光猛,雖然座位不算寬倘,大概可以容納25人左右。我點了個Big bad Ben,scramble egg濕滑有牛奶的味道,bacon煎得剛剛好,不過我個人比較喜歡吃煎得比較乾和脆的那一種。Avocado方面我認為廚師應該切粒或切得小塊一點,這樣客人比較容易入口。Hash brown煎得perfect,沒有過多的油和外脆內軟。 Chorizo就比較乾身然後有一丁點的微辣,我個人覺得會不會配brautwurst好一點呢。總括來說這家店的早餐不錯,不過位置因為在巴士站附近,然後店又是全開放,感覺享受美食的同時也在食塵,但是外籍人士卻很享受這種感覺。
