the restaurant do not have much table. fine food. quite nice environment since it was a rainy day when we dine there. I general the food were quite nice. but I just not a fans for their hand made French fries, too greasy and way way too softy. the salmon were okay. and the beef tartar were nice.

這個就是加了LEMON LIME的SEABASS SALAD,酸味醒胃之餘去了SEABASS的濃郁魚味,剩下只有細膩的口感,

而提供口感的,就是裡面已經切碎的BELL PEPPER,值得一提的是紅洋蔥,沒有辛勁只有清甜,對生洋蔥抗拒的我也吃得舒適。

COLD CUT + CHEESE PLATTER

三種截然不同的口味,由芝士說起,左邊的像CHEDDAR CHEESE,入口濃郁的咸奶香最適合香港人。中間的相當羶,羊奶芝士並不是我所能抵抗的東西,那種對鼻腔的攻擊比芥辣更甚,還是交給懂吃之人去辦吧。右邊的芝士經重煙熏醃制,跟啤酒配一流。如果淺嘗一杯必點。

長見識的是原來法國也有自己的風乾火腿,由左邊的輕怡咸香,同樣港人最愛,到右邊的重咸送酒之選,口感都很鬆軟。而中間的口感像中國人的潤腸,不過味道卻像有FERMENT過的一樣濃郁。

PLATTER必配啤酒,這款LA PARISIENNE相當重麥味,內含很濃啤酒澀,作為男士實在很愛這款,像苦澀的人生一樣,中間有點麥甜,那就足夠了。

US RIB EYE配幼薯條加沙律

RIB EYE的肉身卻非常鬆軟,MEDIUM的熟度,切開時毫不費勁,中間鮮嫰粉紅,值得一提沒有過多的筋鍵,一樣出色的RIB EYE如果有筋鍵並難以切開的話,那就不合格了。件頭十分,不過肥肉部分有點多就是。

幼薯條沒什麼功夫可言,薯肉本身亦不算出色,所以沒什麼可以提。

題外話/補充資料: 如想吃個法國大餐,順道淺嘗幾杯法國啤酒的話,這裡也是不錯的選擇。

I have been to la Grande Bouffe for a lunch break, alone after a tough meeting with a customer.The price of the set lunch is more than affordable (108HKD for starter, main dish, dessert and free bread + water).I had a thai salad to start with steamed chicken, a kind of coleslaw and some crushed nuts. I had a thai salad to start with steamed chicken, a kind of coleslaw and some crushed nuts. There was a very nice balance of texture, the chicken was tasty and the sesame dressing was light and well adjusted. The taste of all ingredients were fresh and recognizable as the dressing was not overwhelming th rest of the salad.
Then I had a leek and onions tart with corriander and a salad on the side. The tart was made from tasty veggies and there was a nice peppery after taste with the add of some coriander I guess. The veggies were well cooked and gave you a feeling of creamy texture, which is the way a nice French Quiche is supposed to be made.

Finally I had an apple tart with a red berries jam on the side. Apples were more than good and perfectly cooked so you had a nice caramelized flavour when you teeths were hittting the tart. The coulis of red berries was sweet, but not too much with a zest of acidity which helps to peacfully finish the tart after a generous meal.

I will go back there for diner to try the Signature Burger but I would tottaly recommend it for a nice taste of France lunch.

As a French guy I can say it's probably one of the best French restaurant in Hong Kong. I went there few times and tried the burger with reblochon (french cheese) and the stewed beef and they were both amazingly good! I went back there twice in may because they have this FANTASTIC duck leg for French May. It comes with mashed potatoes, home made as everything else. It tastes better than a lot of restaurant in Paris.They also have very great deserts: I recommend the lemon tart or, if you like cho

They also have very great deserts: I recommend the lemon tart or, if you like chocolate, the mousse au chocolat.
It is definitely the best value for money if you want french food in HK. And on top of that the staff is super friendly!

We started with nice wine recommended to us, then came the perfectly prepared entree including Ravioli with cheese, salmon tartare salad and foie gras. We shared and tasted all three dishes and everyone liked everything.

Main dish was a unanimous decision - special of the day - confit de canard. Crispy duck skin and moist duck thigh meat, complimented by sweet apple sauce and creamy mash potatoes sprinkled with mint, altogether it was surprisingly light and easy to eat. This is by far one of the best duck confit I had, including the ones I had in southern France.

Then we had cheese platter and three different desserts - chocolate mousse, homemade yoghurt with raspberry sauce and lemon tart. Chocolate mousse was so fantastically rich it was almost like cake. Homemade yoghurt was thick and the raspberry sauce on top was just right, not too sweet. Lemon tart did not disappoint either.

On top of it all, the chillax and eclectic French touches here and there is probably what made it so enjoyable. I love the thoughtfulness of the details. Look up and you would find classic old French films projected above the bar; look under your table to find bag hooks that in my opinion, EVERY Hong Kong restaurant should seriously install. I'd recommend this place to everyone, especially to try the Confit de Canard special while it lasts.

I came here with my family for dinner during the week. We were seated quickly and ordered not long afterwards. The waiter was very funny and nice, and reccomended some dishes to us to help us decide on what to order. I ordered a burger with chips whilst the rest of my family ordered a steak. The burger came with cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. The french fries were quite thin and greasy (just how I like it) and came with ketchup- they were eaten up very quickly by all! 
  For desert I had the chocolate mousse too. At first I thought that was quite small, but once I started eating I realised that it was because the chocolate was quite dark, so was very rich and filling! It was quite light, but not as moussey as others that I've had before (it was a bit more dense). 

This french restaurant is nice if you want some good food, but I wouldn't say that it has amazing french food (my standards are quite high though, as I have visited france many times before and went to a french school). However if you want some nice steaks, burgers, and baguettes, this is certainly the place to go, and I would say that it is the best french restaurant in HK that I have been to.

二月十八日(星期二)人在中環,身不由己這年頭,Billy將另覓新挑戰,Suyi公司遷址,倆口子不約而同,很快便會離開工作多年的中環區2014年,對我倆其中一件大事,必有告別中環之份兒就趁這段時間,趕快嚐盡中上環一帶美食... 來到第五站 這星期發生了很多事,多以不快為主不過,人長大了,也要學懂自我調節心理選了這家開業兩個多月的La Grande Bouffe,正正位於上次路過Torimen前的那個街口雖然是新餐廳,但看着那地板,予人的感覺是,餐廳好像已開了一段日子門口大大塊黑板寫著"Two Courses $98"加多十元就有一個甜品,倒是吸引的午市套餐,前菜與主菜選擇也不多,各只有兩款與友人先分享Pumpkin Soup,單看賣相還以為很稀身,飲落南瓜味卻是十分香濃加入了洋蔥,份外惹味香口前兩日吃了很多很多的蛋,對自己說這數天要忍一忍口不過,真的只有一個講字,見到喜歡的Chicken and Bacon Quiche,又不能不試夾雜鹹香滿溢的煙肉及嫩滑的雞肉,香口美味主菜方面,選了Almond Trout Filet with rice and tomato and basil sa

The place is a down-to-earth homely restaurant that makes little fuss about the decor, yet you can't help notice the juxtaposition of the giant speaking cow plastered on the wall (he'll tell you about the specials), the constant stream of black/white french films and quite Chinese style floor tiles.  That aside, tt's all about the food and enthusiastic service here.

I opted for the two course set lunch ($98) which came with a nice Vegetable Velouté Soup that is actually a lot heartier than it sounds. It was a pleasant yellow hue of blended vegetables with cream and perfected complemented the bread (which our French manager so feverishly sliced beside us). The texture was perfectly smooth and had a gorgeously rich thickness and aromatic taste with a hint of natural sweetness from the vegetables...carrots i pressume.

The set lunch main was the Pan Fried Mullet Fillet with Lemon Sauce and Saffron Rice. I would describe this as more of an international dish rather than French as you'd easily find a variation in any modern western restaurant, but good food knows no boundaries! The fish was well executed with slightly charred skin and just mildly salted, accentuating the fresh meaty fish. The bed of rice it was laid on was average; the saffron gave it a nice color, but nothing outstanding in terms of flavors or texture. The sauce was the highlight, it was absolutely delicious! It was rich and creamy and tangy as well; elevating the dish to a whole new level!

It was rich, creamy, cheesy, and layered with bacony meat between the sheets of potatoes that gave it a flavor burst every time you bit into it. There is no arguing against this ingredient combination and La Grand Bouffe baked this splendidly!

Overall a pleasant dining experience and wonderful addition to the recent trend of down-to-earth French cookeries like La Port Parfume, FAB, etc. A special mention is the very friendly service of the staff there.

If you google this name, you will find a French/Italian film with the same name which is about scatological humour and comic depictions of sex and over-eating.

The decor of the restaurant is really nice.

The baguette was really nice, crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside.
It tasted nice with the salads and the main dishes and the guy was really nice and gave me an extra basket which most restaurants do not normally do.

Tried the rice on its own and it was so delicious, it was fully flavoured with vegetables and herbs and each grain of rice was plump and long.
I loved the chunky vegetable pieces in it.

The beef stroganoff was rich crammed with loads of beef, the sauce was really good for dipping the baguette and after I had some of the beef, I put the rice in the bowl of beef and the taste was so good, it was so satisfying, but if there was more rice, I would be more satisfied because I was still very hungry!!!.

The pork was a little tough, but I can't complain because the pork chop I had at La Cantoche was also tough.
Again it was on a bed of delicious pan fried rice with vegetables and the sauce on top was tangy with pureed tomatoes and herbs.

Apple tart A la normande:
Lastly for desserts, there is a choice of lemon tart, apple tart and chocolate cake.
As I have tried the lemon tart and chocolate cake at French most places, I opted for the apple tart which was a great tart to finish off with.

The apple tart was served with some "English cream" according to the waitor!
Anyway, the apple tart was divine, it had slices of apple embedded in rich custard filling and you could see there were zillions of vanilla seeds in it giving it a delicious vanilla custard touch.
As well as the tart, the cream also had lots of vanilla seeds in it and it complemented the tart so well because it balanced the sweetness of the tart.
The tart crust which is usually tasteless was good too.

I would love to dine here again because it includes dessert and the price is really affordable!
