星期六在中環食晏,原本就不想食太多,經過這店,想起之前也聽說過由名人投資,但食物和招呼就好壞參半,反正未試過,也試一下吧。
入去不用等位,兩人坐下就有待應送上餐牌,只說有兩小時任食點心,根本不想食太多就問她有無散叫,她才答餐牌內可散叫,態度和普通茶餐廳一樣,但看看餐牌內價錢則與太平館等一樣,並不便宜。隨便點了來佬炒牛河,焗田螺和一個海鮮湯。
海鮮湯的料有蝦兩隻、青口兩隻和魚一件算是新鮮,但飲—口湯就知不是自家㷛,感覺是用粉開出來再加料,入口完全味精水的感覺,比罐頭湯還要差。

同事生日,中午時間與她來吃生日飯。
六個人,叫了四個點心餐、一個焗飯餐及一客多士。
菜蝦餃,上素餃,小籠包 x2:試了菜蝦餃,蝦爽口,菜餡也多。
鳳眼餃,菠菜餃,燒賣:試了鳳眼餃,外表真的包很像眼睛,因此叫鳳眼吧。
面層有少許貌似魚翅的東西,令賣相更漂靚。內裡的蝦肉十分多又爽口,好味!
蝦餃,粉果,牛肉燒賣:蝦餃的蝦肉爽口。
炒飯 x2:跟點心餐的。小小的一碗,不算十分乾身,但也不油膩。
炒米粉 x2:也是跟點心餐。小碗,配料不多,但不油膩。
芝士忌廉蟹柳魚柳焗飯:汁料不太膩,稠道適中。魚柳和蟹柳份量頗多,味道不錯。
發哥鴛鴦多士:兩件是傳統的練奶加花生醬,兩件是很特別的腐乳加砂糖。練奶加花生醬都是一貫的香甜味道。而腐乳加砂糖是出奇地配合,甜中帶點鹹香,味道不錯啊!
餐飲 x5:檸茶、檸水、奶茶等,味道正常,無什麼特別。
埋單約五百多元,平均每人一百元左右,價錢合理。

深夜了,還未吃晚飯,但又很想找一些可以令自己開心的東西來吃,於是點了這個香蕉船。
意想不到的竟然來個小煙火,真的是叫自己喜出望外。
還記得當自己還是小孩的時候,香蕉船真的是不容易可以吃得到。而這個香蕉船可以喚起兒時的樂趣之餘,更教人多了一份驚喜,真的很開心。
食材方面,除了不可缺少的香蕉之外,就是三款不同口味的雪糕,分別是士多啤梨、朱古力及呍呢嗱。甜甜的味道總是有一種可以減壓的感覺,加上這幾天轉涼了小許,吃起來特別滋味。
還記得當自己還是小孩的時候,香蕉船真的是不容易可以吃得到。而這個香蕉船可以喚起兒時的樂趣之餘,更教人多了一份驚喜,真的很開心。

Hong Kong is a wonderful, culturally diverse place and what's even better is that we would sometimes put our own spin on foreign cultures and create something unique out of it, and the Hong Kong take on Western cuisine is a great example. Loyal Dining, situated on Wellington Street, is a restaurant that serves 60's and 70's Hong Kong-style Western food. The word "Loyal" is a transliteration of the restaurant's Chinese name "來佬" (pronounced "Loi Lo"), an old-school Cantonese term referring to Western imported goods.
As Hong Kong became increasingly affluent a few decades ago, locals started to become fascinated with foreign food and culture, which helped popularize some "Western" restaurants such as Tai Ping Goon, Queen's Cafe or Boston Restaurant. Even though some of these local favourite dishes might sound or taste eccentric (e.g. sirloin steak served with Jasmine rice), they often turn out to be tasty and satisfying.
Loyal Dining has an enticing menu filled with nostalgic dishes and an interesting retro-style decor in a brown-and-yellow theme. What Loyal Dining is also famous for is their late-night dim sums starting from 10p.m., which makes the eatery a good alternative to the 24-hour Tsui Wah sitting across the road. In fact, many people see Loyal Dining as a classier and less noisy option for a post-clubbing feast!
在威靈頓街鏞記酒家再上一點的來佬餐館是吃港式西餐的好地方,有焗豬扒飯,來佬汁雞翼等懷舊菜式。最重要是晚上十點後可以叫點心,吃宵夜不想去翠華的話可以來這裡!
(1) We spotted the Special Thick Toast (Preserved Bean Curd with Caster Sugar & Condensed Milk & Peanut Butter) ($26) on the menu and decided to order this curious snack. The pungent taste of preserved bean curd clashed with the alluring taste of condensed milk, sugar and peanut butter, and it was a very weird sensation! While I think you should try this interesting toast once, I would totally understand if you decide to never order it again in your life.
(2) Loyal Dining offers a range of set lunches, which comes with a Soup of the Day and a drink. On the day we went, it was a Cream of Mushroom Soup, which although didn't taste very strongly of mushrooms, was creamy and soothing.
The soup came with some brioche which was light and fluffy.
We ordered a Baked Rice Lunch Set ($86), and the main course was a Thousand island sauce baked seafood rice. I love baked rice because they are almost always served piping hot. While this seafood rice had an attractively thick layer of baked cheese on top, the sauce was a tad too sour due to the thousand island dressing.
(3) Another set lunch ordered was the Barbeque set ($108), which came with an Australian sirloin steak with black pepper sauce with rice. Even though the steak was a bit tough, it was nicely packed with flavours and it offered great value for money as the piece of steak was huge!
(4) The rest of us ordered from the a la carte menu, and L went for the Fried Rice with Crab Roe ($108). The fried rice was moreish, and the different ingredients added a range of flavours to it. The best thing about this dish was the crab roe which popped in the mouth!
(5) G was slightly worried about an impending food coma after ordering the Seared Foie Gras & BBQ Pork with Rice Topped & Sunny Side Egg ($128), and decided to seek my help. As a loyal friend, I jumped to her rescue and helped with eating a portion of that fatty foie gras sitting on her plate (because that's what friends are for)! We did not have high hopes for this foie gras as it only cost $128, and we found it surprisingly tasty - it was very crispy on the surface, and the inside was delicate and smooth. The BBQ Pork was a bit too chewy and dry, but the sweet BBQ sauce was great.
The sunny side up looked so beautiful that it made us smile!
(6) I must admit that I am very prone to food envy, and I almost wanted to steal that sunny side up from G when I saw how lovely it looked! Fortunately, my Baked Pork Chop with Fried Rice & Sunny Side Egg ($88) also came with an egg. The rice was excellently soft and the tomato sauce was delicious. My only complaint was that the pork chop could have been more tender.
(7) The Portuguese-style Baked Assorted Vegetables ($72) had a thick sauce with a perceptible coconut milk flavour, and there was a nice assortment of veggies.
If you are interested in trying out soy sauce Western food, or if you ever get sick of going to Tsui Wah after midnight, Loyal Dining is the place for you!

I was simply having a fabulous experience in Loyal Dining, especially when I'm the kind of person treasure the taste of atmosphere as much as the food.
Needless to say, the retro 70s tribute easily triggered the specific appetite of Hong Kong local food!
A casual lunch-out with my friend, we were arranged to our table with just a short waiting. We were immediately impressed by the gorgeous interior of the restaurant. The restaurant is furnished with dark wooden table and leather furniture. We can find Hong Kong Oldies pictures on the wall which surpriced us quite a bit of how detail the deco is.
Back to the dinner, we ordered 3 dishes: Loyal's signature Sweet Soy Sauce Pigeon, a dim sum platter, and Hainanese Chicken Rice.

Unlike others, you can singularly choose your favorite dim sum.
Both my friend and I were happy with the lunch, for both foodwise and the restaurant atmosphere. We are more than happy to recommend you all to share our experience!

為左慶祝我的大壽,老友特登約我提議的中環來佬餐館,品嘗超值抵食的點心放題。
點心放題可以任食兩個鐘,而且只係98蚊,真係點都要試試。
餐館位置鏞記旁邊,好易搵。甫入室內,樓底極高,分設上下兩層,布置充滿懷舊色彩,最突出的係放左隻大大隻綠色垃圾蟲,真係好有親切感!
由於我地預早訂檯,所以侍應安排了我地坐舒適的梳化卡位,抵讚!
食物方面,分別有:來佬推介、懷舊點心、湯、精美點心、粥麵飯同甜品等六大類合共31款食品,種類話多唔多,話少唔少,其實只要點心質素對口胃,多少選擇唔係問題。經過多輪點選進食之後,我地都覺得極有水準!
最大力推介的有以下幾款:
*蟹籽鳳眼餃:開口的蝦肉餃上灑上蟹籽,皮薄料足,幾次番點,仍然好回味,實在係必吃之選。(散叫一籠要32蚊,食多幾粒已值回票價!)
*來佬菠菜餃:來佬推介,當然亦值得一試。果然,咬開餃子,全是嫩綠鮮菠菜蓉,好味!
*鵪鶉蛋燒賣:難得有呢款懷舊點心又點可以錯過呢?細細粒鵪鶉蛋附以小小豬肉燒賣,一樣無令人失望!
*脆皮鮮蝦春卷:細細條,蝦肉足,又脆口又熱辣辣,正!
*中式湯:原本無諗住叫湯飲,但睇見佢寫住無味精,即管試試!一奉上來,見有湯渣(豬骨、木瓜、南北杏),感覺完全唔欺場,飲落無味精,好鮮甜,好有住家老火湯FEEL!結果,飲完,再叫多一次,真係好滋味。
*陳皮紅豆沙:最後一擊的糖水,同樣好有水準,紅豆起沙又稔身,唔太甜!
其實,水準平實但唔差的仲有鳳爪、蟹籽燒賣王、蝦餃等。反而,煎物唔多好食(生煎鍋貼同胡椒九菜盒子),偏油,不吃無損失。
我地今次的策略係每次叫四款,每款各叫一粒或一件,吃完又抖下,結果,前前後後落左七八次單,加上我地完全無食過任何飽肚的點心(腸粉、飯麵、飽點等),結果兩小時後,我地都好滿足,但又唔覺飽到頂住個胃!

橙色的蟹籽鳳眼餃同錄色的來佬菠菜餃的翻食次數最多,蝦餃反而無咩特別!
每次每款叫兩粒來吃,可以無咁易飽!侍應會用一個籠一併奉上,變成點心拼盤!當中的鵪鶉蛋燒賣,懷舊得來好好味。
飲茶之餘,叫埋湯飲,今次都係第一次。無味精的中式湯,好鮮甜,連湯渣都食埋!
鳳爪排骨,平實但唔差。
陳皮紅豆沙,豆多又腍又起沙,唔太甜。
兩層設計,樓底極高,布置好懷舊。

個飯就有6件X燒左右加塊鵝肝,X燒普通料味道正常,但鵝肝整得幾好,外脆內軟,也不過熟,內裡油分十足.但係D醬汁可以多D,因為個白飯係要多D野來撈下,雖然有隻蛋
牛河就是瑞士汁牛河,炒得十分均勻,不油,味道帶甜,幾好,加埋少少辣醬更惹味
乳鴿也是用番瑞士汁整吧,甜甜地,皮和肉也十分滑!質素幾好,COVER了雪味

Loyal Dining 來佬餐館這間以老香港為主題的港式西餐廳,已開了幾年,但我卻一直都沒有幫襯過。 看過很多網友對這餐廳的評語, 毁譽參半。 既然今晚來到中環,就決定去試一試。
週六晚上,來佬餐館比較靜,可隨便揀座位坐。 餐廳的裝修很富六十年代的香港風情,不同於舊式餐廳如金雀,來佬的裝修是仿造的,但都營造到那種舊年代的氣氛。
請不要誤會,六十年代我未出世的,我對六十年代的認知,都是由書本、圖片、電影及電視劇,再加父母的描述,王家衛的一系列電影如阿飛正傳、花樣年華及2046,也確實令我對這年代有更深刻印象。
看餐牌,發現有一個渣打/Manhattan 信用咭的$398五道菜之二人套餐,就選了這個。
每道菜都有兩選擇,二揀一,
頭盤在沙律與湯之間,揀了後者南瓜茸忌廉湯
湯很Creamy,南瓜味也算濃,感覺很香
第一道菜,棄乳鴿而取威靈頓66
所謂威靈頓66,是酥皮包著牛扒,做得算不錯,牛扒算幾腍,外皮也脆口,拌碟有薯菜
第二道菜,陽光焗豬扒飯或瑤柱蛋白炒飯,考慮了一會,決定試前者
焗飯以碗上枱,一人一碗,賣相不錯,但我覺得豬扒太甜太漏了,又有點硬,感覺不及大家樂水準。
特飲為柚子茶,沒什麼好說,
甜品有法式燉蛋,
幾軟滑,總算令套餐挽回一些分數
整體而言,食物質素只算中等,來佬其實是賣氣氛的,間中來感受一下懷舊風情,也是不錯的,下次或者考慮梳個蛋橽頭,約蘇麗珍去吃。

My friend and I webt to Central for a quick lunch and decided to try loyal dining for the first time. Surprisingly there was no wait at around 12:30. Like i always like to observe first is the restaurants' ambiance. Loyal Is more westernized old style hong kong feel. The tables were lay out pretty close to each other, but luckily the mouse level was bearable because the table next to us had one person. We opted for the lunch set, which range from $90-$110. My friend and I both decided to go with the dim sum sets. there are three different set choices for dim sum, so we each picked out a different set.
Each set came with 3 types of dim sum, a choice of noodle or rice and then a drink(coffee or tea)
For my set, I got noodles, spinach steamed dumpling, Siu mai, and shrimp dumplings (each came with 2 pieces) , and a milk tea. The dim sum was actually better than I expected. My favorite has to be the spinach dumpling. The spinach was flavored perfectly and the wrapping wasn't over cooked and soggy. As for the noodle, it wasn't anything extraordinary but it was good enough that I finished the big bowl. the worst out of everything was the milk tea. Defintely put way too much milk in it. Overall, I love the portion of the meal, it had enough variety to keep me satisdied. I think I will come back to try their other dishes( the baked dishes looked good). Also, for the quick service, I would come back when I crave for some dim sum for lunch.
