Came here previously for the All You Can Eat Teppanyaki option, for roughly $388. And additional Sashimi Plate was ordered for around $50, which wasn't all you can eat (not that I wanted to anyway)
The dishes consisted of Scallops, Prawns, Salmon, Australian Wagyu Beef, Chicken, Fried Rice. Dessert was a scoop of Grapefruit Icy Sorbet. The chefs in Unkai are actually from 和三味's previous guise, if I remember correctly it was called 千登世 with some Japanese owner and I recalled that before quite nice a few years back without being exceptional, as I've had better Teppanyaki in Japan & Singapore. Now 和三味 has been taken over by 劉巒鴻 again and I haven't tried since. One of the chefs here Arthur is a very handsome looking and fit chef and one overly hilarious guy - this might suit girls wanting a bit of 'eye candy' if they got sick of Paul's Kitchen lol as this guy could pose as a model.
It was a nice gesture from UNKAI to provide a top cut SIRLOIN for this All You Can Eat Feast, even though the Aussie Wagyu wasn't that marbled despite having a strong beef and marbling taste. Most other Yakiniku or Shabu Shabu shops in Hong Kong give crappy Wagyu cuts mainly from the Chuck, Ribs and Round or Legs area, which are barely 1/5th the price of top cuts wholesale, yet those unethical restaurants still sell them at top cut prices. In Japan, those lower cuts are much cheaper.
I thought the outstanding dishes were the Beef, Chicken and Scallops, the latter which tasted sea fresh and sweet, which is very rare. Cooked perfectly half raw and rightly seasoned.
- The Chicken was cooked really well just the way you want it. Juicy and crisp on the outside.
- The Beef were thin slices wrapped around onions and vegies and garlic chips. I thought the garlic chips over-powered the beef way too much and requested it be toned down, which did the trick. Lovely.
- Fried Rice was a bit so-so as it lacked beef fat taste and beef meat taste, not sure if this is still the case during A La Carte sessions?
Overall, I thought the Teppanyaki here was quite food already. Don't forget, this was an All You Can Eat Session, and the chef admitted that the quality will be better again at night, but then it'll cost in upwards of $1000-1500 per person easily, which I'd rather fly to Kobe to eat. This shop also knows how to do 'old-style' Teppanyaki the authentic way, but its not on the menu and you have to request and you'll need to be a VIP to get such treatment, from my understanding of it.
TEPPANYAKI = mid-high '4' but can be inconsistent between batches. SASHIMI OF SALMON AND HAMACHI = mid-high 'BORING'
i have been there for at least 10 times... at that time i can still use the sheraton card for 50% off for 2 persons.... however, the card is not valid anymore... so it has become extremely unaffordable to go anymore....
before, my bill will be around hkd2500 at least for 2 people.. but now it's impossible...
i like the food a lot but not enough that i am willing to drop $5000 each meal...
a side note... the velet parking at sheraton is always full.... i mean... i think i should deserve velet park to have a dinner that expensive right?
My parents and I arrived at 1300 on a very relaxing Sunday. Surprisingly, only a few tables were occupied. Initial impression was that the restarant had old decor, nontheless the whole environment was very relaxing. There was a choice between sitting in front of the Teppanyaki grill, the sushi bar, or in the main dining area. Our table was one of the three that were isloated in the middle, secluded by high walls and so it was very private.
Set lunches are much more "dai" and ordering separately. We ordered a grilled beef set, a sashimi + tempura + grilled cod bento and a beef teppanyaki set. I don't remember the exact names, sorry. Both beef sets came with three varieties of sashimi. It was definitely fresh. No complaints about that. My main course, the grilled beef was very "un" and had a lot of "gun". The beef teppanyaki was very tender and cooked very well to order (medium rare) and with red juices still in it. I didn't get the chance to try the bento box.
HSBC Platinum cardholders get 20% off and the bill came to about $1100 after the discount. For the same price, I would go to Nadaman but it is still not a bad choice on the Kowloon side.
Went here with my family for Sunday lunch. We ordered the lunch bento box sets with several food items. Momma Bunny and I had the same sashimi rice set.
Appetizer: didn't come for me! Asked them for it, but they completely forgot about it.
Sashimi rice: the sashimi was very fresh, but the variety was plain and not very impressive. The rice was really, really good though. Just the right touch of vinegar and was fragrant and perfect temperature.
Udon noodle in soup: Nothing too spectacular. Found the broth a bit weak. Expected more for the price.
Vegetable tempura: Very nice. Good texture and piping hot, and the dipping sauce was perfect.
But... I wouldn't go there again. I'm a big fan of sashimi rice, and this one didn't top my list!

第一次食正式的鐵板燒
五月尾來這兒試一下鐵板燒,感覺新鮮,食物也新鮮。
裝修雅緻。
主要由兩位師父SERVE十四五位食客。如果不是替我煮食的那位廚師曾不知何故開了兩次小差的話,服務幾近一流。
食物由廚師安排,先是蝦,跟着是帶子,然後是三文魚扒跟煎飯團和m4牛肉卷,依次食完後廚師會再做多一round。之後,就是炒野菜和炒飯。最後,廚師會分別替各客人燒多一次他/她想食的一兩款食物。這個餐還有青檸雪芭作甜品,而且任飲Asahi。
食物中最好味的當然是帶子,實淨而鮮甜。其次是牛肉,五成熟,淋滑味濃。
師父用了很長時間炒飯(將飯粒分開),但出來的仍有縛粒黏在一起的,而且味道只覺一般,是全場最不給引的食物。
可以看到師父的鐵板燒表演,又有機會與他交流一下,更可暢快地飲一杯一杯的啤酒,很是寫意。

商務午餐
午市套餐叫了$280-$380幾款,有牛肉薄燒,刺身,天婦羅,及懷石料理各一.論賣相一舨小店是無法可比,刺身雖然新鮮但tuna有根喎*-*,其他食物質素係穩定,不過無驚喜,真係貪佢地方大同寧靜.
算吧啦,鬼叫我地食商務午餐咩,始終“灘萬”係呢方面技勝一籌.

頭盤是枝豆同雞泡魚乾,枝豆不是太好,其他普通壽司店的還好食....雞泡魚乾略甜...
海膽同toro都好新鮮,海膽下面是脆青瓜,無咁漏...
鐵板燒象拔蚌,好爽口鮮甜; 帶子都好甜; 蝦爽口
燒牛肉略為薄,未有牛肉之質感,但入口即溶
燒鵝肝好正,外皮燒得香脆,內甘香,加上在鐵板燒爐上燒過的法包,好好味!
炒飯是用牛肉剩下來的脂肪燒碎後炒,好香口
甜品是生果和柚子雪苞,柚子雪苞好清新,生果是哈密瓜和士多啤梨

今日補祝朋友生日, 去o左喜來登酒店個間雲海食日本料理. 知道呢間o野好耐, 但從未試過, 所以今日特登帶朋友一齊去試下食晚餐.
因為牛同蝦都唔食得, 所以中午特登去睇下晚餐menu.服務員Janice好好人, 好詳細講解個menu內容.
晚上6:30去到,
人唔太多. 環境寧靜,但枱與枱之間都幾近. 隔離枱講乜, 我地都聽到, 不過侍應Janice 都好好服務. 又講解得好清楚.(例如食魚生o既次序)

先o黎個 華風沙律
跟住係 刺身併盤, 本來有甜蝦, 因為要戒口, Janice 幫我地換走o左.
toro 都係有少少筋~ 不過整體好正. 好新鮮.
整隻新鮮海膽食下, 因為用水沖過, 所以冇乜海水味, d味道又冇乜特別.
當時心諗: 都係日本築地正D.
跟住係o黎10件壽司併盤..........
可惜掛住食~ 唔記得o左影相呀...>_< 唔記得o左有咩材料.
我同朋友都覺得壽司中上. 我地掛住傾, 食得慢o左, d壽司我覺得有少少乾o既感覺,如果即整即食, 應該會再正d.
再o黎熱食, 揀o左天婦羅, 又係因為唔食得蝦. 所以揀 蕃薯 + 南瓜
差不多食晒至記得影相. ^_^ , 呢個天婦羅都好味, 唔油.
最後o黎個5色冷麵, 朋友話味道淡而無味.
(衰o左, 以為朋友鍾意食冷麵, 所以特登叫Janice整個冷麵比佢嘆)
冷麵上面隻蝦卒之都係比我食o左..........哈..........衰收尾, 早知我就一早叫隻牡丹蝦o黎食下啦.
食完唔多夠喉,知道雲海出名係海膽, 所以打算叫海膽壽司, 不過Janice推介手卷.
呢一舊手卷貴過上次係築地食o既一碗海膽飯, 但味道一樣咁正. 我地最初叫2件手卷, 但掛住傾計, 後來Janice 提我地快d食, 但已經太遲, 放入口, d紫菜"林"晒, 但d海膽一樣咁正. 當時覺得點解d紫菜咁快"林" 又話呢度好出名o既?? 跟住再問Janice, 佢話因為我地食得太遲.......(但其實都唔係好遲o者?)
我地食完晒所有o野,等o左一陣. 我個心都係有d唔服氣, 冇理由真係我地食得太遲, 所以d紫菜就"林"晒(好似放o左一,兩分鐘) 咁我又柯打多兩件手卷, o黎到即刻影o左張相, 就即刻食, 又真係脆喎, 不過食到一半, d紫菜都開始"林林地"lu. 但海膽真係好新鮮呢.貴就貴o左d.........不過d海膽份量又夠多, 由頭食到尾都有好多海膽.
總括o黎講雲海呢間o野都好好. 魚生海膽都好正, Janice話早知我地食咁多刺身壽司, 就應該安排我地坐壽司位喎, OK等下次啦.....我會再去雲海o架. 等我
因為到8月31號用恆生咭有8折, 匯豐咭有9折 , 我地未折前係2,352,折o左1925.

Super overpriced

好的開始~~~
今年3月,再重訪此食店,所叫的食物也是一樣,分別是一個雲海鐵板燒餐及一個壽司餐,水準依舊!
依舊選了鐵板燒座位,前菜中的魚生用料相當新鮮,之後的龍蝦燒得既香口又能保持應有水份,而鵝肝則是由第一次的大,變成第二次的細,今次再變返大,味道亦很好。羊架及帶子表現也不俗,之後的炒飯、炒什菜、龍蝦頭湯等都keep到水準。
壽司set,set 中的天富羅的水準既依然唔錯,壽司一客8件,全都是高水準之作,味道有日本築地壽司大8成左右,不過體積就細左d。
甜品照舊分別係生果及柚子雪巴,前者香甜,後者清新,為今個晚餐添上了完美的句號。
用了AE 白金卡有15%off,絕不便宜的一餐,但食和俾也是開心的!

師傅拿來一點炸蒜片當小吃,幾體貼。但蒜片是炸得過火了一點,雖然脆口,但帶苦味,不大好吃。以鐵板燒水準來說,是差強人意。
前菜是豚肉煮蘿蔔絲,蘿蔔絲煮得腍,味道清甜,不錯。而豚肉的味道全走去蘿蔔處,自然沒可吃之道,不明白店方為何仍然將之盛出來;刺身是「三點盛」,分別是吞拿魚、立魚及甜蝦,舌拿魚角切,立魚薄切,俱突顯了食材的口感,刀功不俗,而吃起來也新鮮;
主菜以一個大漆盤上檯,單看賣相及掛場,感覺是薄弱一點的。味噌湯濃濃的,幾鹹,不過放了不少的滑子菇及豆腐粒在內的,可以更好;煮物簡簡單單,大根、南瓜、蝦及紅蘿蔔各一件,味道也真的是普普通通,沒有什麼印象;三文魚拿去鹽燒,還是燒得熟透,那又柴又韌的三文魚肉是在預計中,索性將其放在味噌湯中浸來吃,更有風味。最美味的當然是那三文魚皮,燒得香脆,滿有魚油的豐腴,亦有鹽的鹹香,單吃這塊燒魚皮,已很滿足;在日本料理中,很注重一件簡單的蛋卷,因為直接反映出師傅的功力及專注。這裡的絕對不濟,口感雖然鬆軟,但全沒味道,蛋味、甜味及鹹味均欠奉,不能收貨;日本米飯是水準之作,上面還放了一抺醬魚乾,如果還有餘額的話,多吃兩碗也絕對沒有問題。用燒紫菜包著來吃,很滿足。
同事的鐵板燒羊架,也未見佳處,始終在香港吃teppenyaki,也不離那幾個地方。
侍應服務是十分之好,又快手又有禮貌,沒有什麼可以批評的地方。
埋單300大元,比較之下,稻菊的松花堂便當絕對比這裡好,而在今佐,這個價錢已可吃特選刺身或壽司定食了,當然在灘萬,點心便當也不過是這個價錢,但賣相及水準都比這裡好。

再來冬至.聖誕.生日快樂!
我們坐清靜雅緻的房間,點了sushi course與suehiro(廣末)燒烤餐各一分享。內容比想像中更豐富呢!
先來是兩款不同的日式拼盤。我試了金槍魚壽司.魷魚蘿白茸.蕃薯燒的那款(圖1),很喜歡那份精細的配搭,依次序吃味道相當不錯,嗜甜的我最滿意小巧的蕃薯燒!另一款前菜拼盤,與浮著渾圓的玉子豆腐的清湯,賣相亦相當吸引,不過我就沒試。
魚生有三款,最先試的、平日平易近人的三文魚是最庸俗的,不禁有點失望,後來的吞拿魚與池魚卻相當精彩,新鮮令人難忘。
煮物與炸物是比較平凡的兩味,不過仍有值得欣賞處:煮物旗魚煮得算嫩滑,又有加上柚子絲的精細位;天婦羅不是一級水準,但勝在是剛炸起夠新鮮熱辣。
燒物吃了帶子、大蝦、三文魚、象拔蚌、羊扒,餐廳安排5種不同的醬汁伴食,可惜各適其式。除了三文魚不值一提,其餘的燒物各有各精彩,我尤其欣賞爽口的帶子裙,以及蝦膏滿溢的大蝦;羊扒亦夠肥美豐腴,加上伴碟的脆蒜片吃是十分之香口。
壽司拼盤有八件,賣相平平可味道不錯。吞拿魚腩入口有融化之感,甜蝦與魷魚亦新鮮得很,雖然不及壽司廣水準,都算很有水準了!
最後還有炒時菜、炒飯、麵鼓湯與香瓜菜,太豐富了真的吃不下,何況胃口要留給甜品。
甜品有西瓜、哈密瓜及柚子雪葩,本是已是很清新、很圓滿的句號;不過最後還有tiramisu的驚喜:雖然那件蛋糕味道很一般,但店方又唱歌、又寫牌,又幫忙合影的心意,都夠動容了!
雖然擺了少少烏龍,很高興雲海的環境、食物、服務都沒有令主角失望,再一次祝你冬至.聖誕.生日快樂!
p.s. 整體而言,食物水準合乎預期但欠驚喜,不過用了starwood card有半價就真的很抵食!

但美中不足是好幾件魚生都有根~
朋友是member, 半價後大概每人HK$300.

因男友生日, 決定去一所寛別約有10年光景的日本菜。雲海日本菜
男友對魚生, 壽司沒興趣的情況下, 鐵板燒絕對好選擇。
環境: 剛裝修約二年, 木顏色比較多, 轉角位多, 整體較暗, 鐵板細, 坐位比較密(相比以前鐵板台淨寛度約8-9呎, 樓高搭多呎, 光孟)
服務: 全統日本正規和服女知客- 有禮, 其他待應生亦充滿生氣, 鐵板師父剛好為我烹調的該位, 是該店年資最長的一位, 交談下”環境, 同事, 老闆, 價錢”一一由當年說起, 如同老朋友相遇的親切。
食物: 雲海鐵板燒餐每位$980 x 2
1. 先來幾件魚生及壽司, 令胃口打開
2. 帶子-用貝縠作碟如同以往, 尚欠拔蘭地的火焰香味(因裝修後, 爐的溫度難及以前)
3. 龍蝦-肉質爽滑, 可大啖大啖吃
4. 鵝肝-放在法包上食, 鵝肝的香油, 滲入法包中, 絕配
5. 羊架-本人和男友至愛, 味羶羶地, 肉質嬾滑及配燒洋蔥, 燒青椒, 燒茄子(開始飽中)
6. 龍蝦頭加入日本麵豉湯煲-好香, 好豪, 好和諧
7. 炒飯-該炒飯出名好味
8. 炒雜菜-爽, 清, 甜
9. 生果(好飽, 好飽了)
10. 生日蛋糕(預訂枱及安排蛋糕一星期前) 待應突然拿到男友面前, 令他驚喜, 開心!! Suprice….
總結: 食得好開心, 好滿足, 好豪, 好味..kakkakaka 耐不耐樣咀巴放肆一下

一個月最少豪一次
前菜是冬風螺及Muzuko(海帶醋),美觀精致,不忍一口吃掉。刺身是三文魚配吞拿魚,鮮美。沙律一般新鮮。鵝肝連麵包一同吃,外脆內軟,味道適中,幸好跟男友分享,否則太多。帶子、龍蝦、羊扒,美味,烹調適中,可能是材料新鮮,怎樣做都好吃。反而覺得日本鮑魚太,沒有味道,還以為是魷魚。之後還有炒菜、炒飯、龍蝦頭麵豉湯,男友對湯讚不絕口。最後是生果結束。
整頓飯都吃得很舒適,坐在鐵板燒,時而跟男友喁喁細語,時而八卦鄰座的食物及談話,服務員不停照顧客人需要,不時奉上熱茶,從來不需要提示。面前的師傅態度輕鬆有禮,只是太過好客,不停跟客人交流,只怕他會把口水散到食物上。
又渡過一次美好的時光,雖然貴,而且不是公司付錢有點肉痛,但是偶爾豪一次的確無妨。
