Went over for the first time to have a pork cutlet sandwich in the Danish bread. Pretty good, I have to say... The Danish bread was nice but not as greasy as the one from Robuchon, which I guess is healthier for me. The pork cutlet was freshly fried and tasty. Yummy and quick lunch.

Went to Bo-lo'gne this past Friday with 3 friends. I made sure to make a reservation beforehand since I knew the place would be pretty small.
Environment: Place is really small (only 4-5 tables) but it's cozy in a nice way. Didn't feel cramped. When you walk in you smell the wonderful aroma of their bread. Awesome welcome greeting...haha.
Service: This was my main gripe. Their waiter was attentive and nice. The main issue was food took almost 30 minutes to make (we just ordered some cutlet sandwiches and a pasta dish) which I thought was way too long. To me, consider the place only has a few tables it's not ideal their food takes that long to make.
Food wise I thought was good and here is what I ordered:
Pork Cutlet Sandwich: I couldn't come here without ordering this. Personally I thought the sandwich was quite tasty. The bread...is great. It was toasted so it was crunchy and buttery. So nice. The pork cutlet was pretty flavorful and juicy. The tonkatsu sauce was maybe a tad sweet for my tastes but overall it was still a good sandwich.
My only gripe, because it took 30 minutes for them to prepare the sandwich it arrived 'warm' but not hot. Not a major issue but it would have been better if it was hot.
Pumpkin Soup (daily special): I was so excited about this. I love drinking pumpkin soup (similar to butternut squash soup) when I was in the US. It's so filling, creamy and makes me feel so warm inside.
Sadly, the pumpkin soup at Bo-lo'gne is not like that. It basically is a vegetable soup that is spiced lightly with pumpkin. Pretty decent tasting but I was a little disappointed. It also comes with a serve of their signature bread which was nice.
Overall I would come back here again but maybe in an off-peak hour when it won't take them 30 minutes to cook my food. It's really quite a nice place to chill out and enjoy a nice tasty sandwich
This is the second time I dined at this cozy little cafe. I like the feel of like being in Japan - the chatters of the lady owner and her staffs in Japanese, the utterly politeness of the waiters, the settings on the tables, the cleaniness of the place ...
I had Pork Cutlet Sandwich, Honey Ice-cream on toast, and Cinnamon Apple Toast. I also tried their daily special Curry Pork Cutlet Rice. Yum yum~!! They only serve it on Tues. SURPRISE~! It's as good as the Pork Cutlet I had in Maisen (まい泉) in Tokyo! The curry is mildly hot - just the right level to bring out the fragrance of the Japanese curry, yet not too much as to kill your taste buds. The pork cutlet is juicy and freshly fried just like the one in their sandwich. The pork cutlet is of high quality, not like the thin local ones you get from 新景園.
The cafe was towards their closing time when I finished my dinner there tonight. I saw the big packets of white blocks stacking up in individual translucent bags on the counters. Out of curiosity, I asked the waiter what those were. Apparently those were the freshly flown in bread dough that their factory in Japan made! They flown in fresh dough once or twice every day, depending on the number of orders they received. The fermentation and kneading and baking are then all done here in the cafe.

不掃興~那一刻面上沒有一點不悅~繼續與漏漏和滯滯大刷一番~~All day breakfast~咸甜bologne~ pasta也不乏~~~雞扒三文也原為其一之選~但本著甜牙齒的精神就每人在甜點類中各選其一~~小比二話不說必選Honey Ice Cream~~滯滯就在choco banana與caramelized banana間猶疑不決~最後choco banana稍勝~~再加漏漏所選的French Toast~~沒留意原來不要飲品是可減八蚊~就點了2壺熱的綠茶還有一杯凍綠茶~~其實剛在前一站才喝了一壺Earl Grey…
三份甜點差不多是同一時間上桌~~~Honey Ice Cream雪糕很慷慨大大球~ Honey配bologne真的不能二缺一~雪糕還是配brownie和waffle較為醒神~~choco banana帶有大量whipped cream~將蜜糖變成古力醬~~有點過於濃厚的感覺~要喝點茶~否則口腔裡有點黏黏的感覺~香蕉的熟成度略為未夠~~~

無法抵擋的麵包誘惑
上次吃過的honey ice cream, 一試難忘, 令我們在幾番掙扎下, 再次品嚐honey ice cream!
軟軟的麵包淋上甜絲絲的honey, 再加vanilla ice cream球, 對喜歡偏甜食品的我來說, 是難以言喻的感動... 雖然要花上55 元 (跟tea/coffee/ orange juice)才能如願, 但卻是非常值得的!!
而男朋友仔上次試了apple+cinnamon toast, 雖然都是非常的入口鬆軟和好味, 但今次我們決定轉試spaghetti cabonara..
結果當然是沒有toast般出色, 有點乾身.. 意粉旁的兩片點綴般的toast可說搶去意粉風頭.. 但總算不過不失
飲品方面叫了一壺tea.. 我們兩人share來喝 (因為下一站又是喝東西的關係~) 也十分足夠!
dine in 還未夠, 臨走買了個danish bread (with strawberry jam), 回味回味~
環境方面不錯, 乾淨企理, 只嫌座位有點狹窄呢

The Spaghetti was OK. i give it 7/10...
* Curry chicken cutlet sandwich.. i didnt taste this as i am worry of too spicy, but my friends said this was the best dish!!

胡椒粉味大過天...
一直想試試呢度出晒名的麵包, 是日放工終於 lunch 時段嚟了.
先嚟朋友的 hot chocolate, 賣相唔得, 飲落亦唔香唔濃, 朱古力味仲有點怪, 奶味就太重, 絕對係「把鬼」之作.
我的 caffe latte 就不論賣相及味道都十足美式連鎖 /「疑似咖啡店」的出品 -- 面頭奶泡洗潔精一樣
Honey Ice Cream 係呢度「名物」之一, 果然名不虛傳 -- 麵包是否 81 層無從考究 (都唔識數!), 但絕對層次分明, 賣相有點 "honeycomb" feel, 邊位烘得鬆脆, 中間質感就極鬆泡, 又帶點 moist 及煙韌, 食落微甜帶牛油香, 令人諗起 Robuchon 牛角包 (http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=1894678), 超級好食喎
Spaghetti carbonara: 最好食係 on the side 的兩件包, 一樣又鬆又香, 唔搽牛油已好好食
Pasta 唔係呢度強項, 質素亦麻麻 -- 呢度唔係意大利餐廳, 唔 al dente 可以理解, 質感其實算有咬口; sauce 好黏, 幾杰亦幾 buttery, 配料就有 mushrooms, 肥而不香的 bacon 及有點生的洋蔥, 但全被濃烈胡椒粉味 (無錯, 係「胡椒粉」, 唔係手 grind 的 black pepper) 搶盡風頭, 食落幾辣, 仲有點涸喉, 幾掃興.
仲有 egg sandwich: 仍然係麵包最好食
麵包以外食物一般, 環境就幾骨緻, 不過認真迫夾, ventilation 又麻麻, 搞到愈坐愈焗; 招呼亦比想像中差, 女店員 #1 幾 responsive 又有禮貌, 但女店員 #2 實在太遊魂, 太唔醒目又太唔想理人了, 起碼佢我向佢舉手「求救」,佢又明明見到我, 佢都可以「袖手旁觀」由得我「自生自滅」-- 大佬, 你唔幫我收吉碟, 我邊有位食其他嘢呀
埋單每人約 $100, 下次嚟還是齋食麵包好了.
P.S. 味道一欄麵包 5 分, 飲品 2 分, spaghetti carbonara 2.5 分, 整體印象就 3.5 分... round off to 4 兼俾個笑面佢吧.

八十一層麵包的魔力
行了一大斷長斜路才到, 真不是說笑的!
小小的店, 很舒適, 差不多都坐滿了人, 人氣十足呢!
點了兩個Sweet Set
- Honey Ice-Cream + 熱咖啡 ($55)
這個先來, 烘過的麵包, 再加上蜜糖和一個雲呢拿雪糕球, 麵包外層鬆化, 內裏鬆軟, 當然沒法去細數是否真的有八十一層啦
- Choco Banana + 熱咖啡 ($60)
賣相討好, 在烘過的麵包上加上香蕉, 朱古力醬及Cream, 穩當的配搭, 也很美味
最美中不足的就是咖啡的確不太好, 比較淡, 不過一定會再來

服務姐姐認得我,問我之前是否來過,哈哈,為何她會認得我的呢? 不過她的笑容很好很甜美,我開頭以前她是日本人,我對著她說英文,後來她卻用廣東話和我談話呢!
這次來有餐牌,方便多了! 最後要了一個french toast,再加杯橙汁! 別的店子圖片與真實的食物總是不一樣的,不過這裡卻是完全一樣呢,真的好厲害。出來的多士真的和它的相一模一樣的,不信下次大家可以看看!
由於上次試過咖啡也是覺得差一點,所以今次要了橙汁,當然沒有大問題,酸酸的,吃到一點點果肉! 太好了,我很怕得個甜字的果汁或汽水。
French toast其實是煮過的丹麥麵包,當中再有雞蛋與牛油。所以弄出來真的是非常之香,牛油之味真的於口腔裡四溢而出。本身丹麥麵包的香味仍在,會吃到一點點帶甜的感覺。加上雞蛋的香味,真的很不錯啦。它另配有楓糖漿,不過我覺得太甜了,還是喜歡就這樣的吃。
總覺得這裡每一樣東西都是他們用心的製作,所以有點點貴,但還是願意繼續支持!! 我會再繼續繼續來的!

回味的午餐
今天放假知道這裡11:30開店,
12:10到達, 想食午餐,
但要13:00才供應,
有點失望,
正在諗食甜品餐當午餐時,
有禮貌的女侍應說老闆說可以立即整午餐給我們食,
但今天12:45有人包了場,
問我們可否12:45前離開,
當然無問題啦.
我們2人點了兩個套餐:
兩個套都包飲品, 我們要了涷咖啡, 比較淡味.
12:45大軍殺到(即包場人士),
剛好食完,
便立即埋單離開.

吃畢這間餐廳,大概就是這種感覺吧,喜歡它的食物,喜歡它的環境,喜歡它的服務,喜歡那老闆老闆娘服務員的笑容,即使覺得它真的有一點點貴,而且咖啡也不是非常好,但還是很喜歡它。
今天工作完畢便到中環吃一個午餐才再回港大工作,便來到這裡了,第一次來到的我,竟然還傻傻的到收銀面前點菜想付錢,結果店員告訴我,不用先付錢而且他們是有服務的,他提議我可以先坐下,哈哈,真是不好意思。
其實這裡的環境對一般來說真的不是特別好,因為它是較隱敝的,也看不到出面的環境和人流,雖然它在外頭有一張餐檯,可是我去到的時候已經有人坐下了,本還想在陽光下繼續看我的<<大江大海 一九四九>>的。內裏有一個架子盛載著不同的丹麥包和一排排的方包,感覺也是挺吸引的。後面有數張餐檯,但感覺也是有點迫,雖然人客不多也沒想有太大影響,最後我還是選擇了瑟縮一角,哈哈。
想了一會覺得來到這裡當然要吃麵包吧,最後選擇了今天的set lunch,就是千層三文治,它還寫著中間的餡是生菜芝士火腿,不知為何那刻我還想這個應該好吃極也有一個限度吧,這麼普通。結果等了不到十分鐘的時間便來到了,賣相不太花巧,可是給人簡潔舒服的感覺,有時太花巧倒會畫蛇添足呢。它的設計很好,有保鮮紙包著,一來衛生,二來也不會弄髒自己的手,真的非常貼心。可是好笑的是不知為何旁邊會有數條意粉呢,大概是覺得只是麵包太單調了吧,不過那數條意粉味道也挺好的,又彈牙,只是略嫌凍了一點。
千層三文治吃下去是很好的,因為它用的材料很好,生菜很爽口而且中和了那些芝士和肉味。芝士和火腿也不是一般菜市場的貨色,整個味道不會很濃烈,不會有很鹹或是很「漏」的感覺。麵包當然是我最愛的一部分,因為感覺真的很鬆軟,吃得出牛油的香味,而且一直咀嚼會有一種淡淡的甜味散出來,那種感覺真的是太美好了,感覺麵包就應該是這樣的才對呢! 真的,盡管材料普通,但我還是真的覺得很好吃。
凍咖啡我是覺得稍為偏淡了點,不苦澀也不會有感覺咖啡香,可是麵包太好吃,我也不太介意了。之後我看見它們有自家製的Custard Pudding,就不怕死不怕肥的再叫了來吃,反正就是很想嘗試一下嘛。我看見它們一杯杯的櫃子內,我還好奇為什麼等這麼久還沒得吃的,原來是還是要加工的呢。它來到是真的很漂亮的,見到也不捨得吃下去。它的布甸質感比一般的硬,不會有一團野的感覺,吃下去有很香的雲尼拿和蛋味,而且它在底還加了很多焦糖,將它們一拚放進口,那種感覺真的太滿足了。大家真的可以試下,雖然不便宜。
最後我還光顧了他們買 4 片麵包呢,因為想讓媽咪和哥哥試下,4 片 $35,一直吃的時候發現真的很多人光顧呢。真的很喜歡說日文的老闆和老闆娘,雖然知日本人一向服務好,可是他們的笑容真的很親切,給我感受到是最真心的笑容呢! 我會再來的,因為太喜歡這間店子了。=)

翻查一下食評, 也絕對同意食家, Yan 我講法, "試了一次也就夠了", 有緣的話(朋友買回來), 再試試丹麥厚方包吧!
PS 這裡的店員態度非常友善, 就算買不到麵包也能讓你心情好過一點!
