I had Pork Cutlet Sandwich, Honey Ice-cream on toast, and Cinnamon Apple Toast. I also tried their daily special Curry Pork Cutlet Rice. Yum yum~!! They only serve it on Tues. SURPRISE~! It's as good as the Pork Cutlet I had in Maisen (まい泉) in Tokyo! The curry is mildly hot - just the right level to bring out the fragrance of the Japanese curry, yet not too much as to kill your taste buds. The pork cutlet is juicy and freshly fried just like the one in their sandwich. The pork cutlet is of high quality, not like the thin local ones you get from 新景園.
The cafe was towards their closing time when I finished my dinner there tonight. I saw the big packets of white blocks stacking up in individual translucent bags on the counters. Out of curiosity, I asked the waiter what those were. Apparently those were the freshly flown in bread dough that their factory in Japan made! They flown in fresh dough once or twice every day, depending on the number of orders they received. The fermentation and kneading and baking are then all done here in the cafe.
小店位置並不難找,沿蓮香樓旁的斜路直上,行兩個街口就到。咖啡室的環境不大,近門口位置放置了一排排被客人訂下的丹麥包。甫坐下,侍應即遞上餐牌,分別是 lunch set 及 tea set 的,看見我最愛的 carbonara,但來這店首要試的是丹麥包,唯有忍痛放棄,最後點了Bo'logne Spicy Chicken Sandwich Lunch Set ($75) 及Choco Banana Tea Set ($65),跟餐附送 iced green tea 及 iced tea。
I was told one loaf of bread here costs $100. Amazing. I must try.
We booked a table for 3 but when we got there, the waitresses seemed they had no idea why we were there. The place was already full. And then, one of the waitresses found a piece of paper with our booking marked on it. We were eventually placed outside in front of the adjacent art gallery, which was fortunately closed.
The food was alright. Very Japanese style. The bread tasted just like any other Japanese bread you can buy in the Japanese bakery. However, once you take a bit, you will realise why it costs $100 per loaf. Therefore, I still recommend you to try.
Another thing my friend complained, was that they put out wine glasses inside as if they offer wine. When he ordered wine, we were then told they do not have a liquor licence as yet. Then why mislead the customers????
我與友人一人一個飽,一個咸一個甜,正好有個強烈對比.咸味代表是salt and maple syrup,用木板上,吃麵包吃到如此招積,也是第一次.麵包面被刀介了幾行,好像身體上的傷口,而麵包上的鹽粒,友人見狀,戲稱在傷口上耍鹽.但感覺痛的不是我,而是麵包.用刀切開麵包,見到包內很有層次,食落面層香脆,包身鬆軟.而Maple syrup味道甜蜜,與鹽粒產生一段微妙的感情.大家在麵包上萍水相逢,在有限的時光之內,擦出了火花.
I'm from Japan. What a wonderful surprise to find Bo_Lo'Gne in Hong Kong! Yes, Bo_Lo'Gne Danish is really popular in Japan. I missed the breads which have crisp surface. Generally, Hong Kong style breads are so soft that I feel like they are not well done. I love the crisp and nicely burnt Danish of Bo_Lo'Gne! It's really different from ordinary breads.
In addition, the Cafe is very nice! It's cosy and cute. I love their creative danish desserts. They are big enough and tasty! I tried "Cinnamon Apple" and I was 120% happy because of its taste and volume!!
I'll never get bored even if I would eat Bo_Lo'Gne Danish for every breakfast!
During the opening stages, only the Danish Bread Loaf was available - I kinda enjoyed that due to its folded, pastry-like layering. It works as a substitute for my favourite French Brioche toast in a way, the latter 'almost' impossible to find as loaf form locally. My only gripe with it? Bologne's version doesn't have much buttery taste and relies on add-on margarine/butter, plus it was way too over-priced.
So what about its Danish Pastry Breadstick? - Ordered the normal version for take-away and when I took a bite it was overly soft and full of voids - way spongier than I'd expected. See the photo for yourself. It was quite sweet too with a sugary glaze but I finally remembered that's how Danish Pastries are suppose to be.
Like the Danish loaf, the Danish Breadstick also lacks fresh buttery taste. I suspect the pastry dough might have been frozen at some point to contribute to this. Disappointed in a way, as this doesn't distinguish itself to other normal Asian bread shop versions - considering 新藍塘餐廳麵包公司 is just around the corner, costs a third of the price and I find that equally satisfying. STICK TO THE DANISH LOAF.

回味的午餐
今天放假知道這裡11:30開店,
12:10到達, 想食午餐,
但要13:00才供應,
有點失望,
正在諗食甜品餐當午餐時,
有禮貌的女侍應說老闆說可以立即整午餐給我們食,
但今天12:45有人包了場,
問我們可否12:45前離開,
當然無問題啦.
我們2人點了兩個套餐:
兩個套都包飲品, 我們要了涷咖啡, 比較淡味.
12:45大軍殺到(即包場人士),
剛好食完,
便立即埋單離開.

吃畢這間餐廳,大概就是這種感覺吧,喜歡它的食物,喜歡它的環境,喜歡它的服務,喜歡那老闆老闆娘服務員的笑容,即使覺得它真的有一點點貴,而且咖啡也不是非常好,但還是很喜歡它。
今天工作完畢便到中環吃一個午餐才再回港大工作,便來到這裡了,第一次來到的我,竟然還傻傻的到收銀面前點菜想付錢,結果店員告訴我,不用先付錢而且他們是有服務的,他提議我可以先坐下,哈哈,真是不好意思。
其實這裡的環境對一般來說真的不是特別好,因為它是較隱敝的,也看不到出面的環境和人流,雖然它在外頭有一張餐檯,可是我去到的時候已經有人坐下了,本還想在陽光下繼續看我的<<大江大海 一九四九>>的。內裏有一個架子盛載著不同的丹麥包和一排排的方包,感覺也是挺吸引的。後面有數張餐檯,但感覺也是有點迫,雖然人客不多也沒想有太大影響,最後我還是選擇了瑟縮一角,哈哈。
想了一會覺得來到這裡當然要吃麵包吧,最後選擇了今天的set lunch,就是千層三文治,它還寫著中間的餡是生菜芝士火腿,不知為何那刻我還想這個應該好吃極也有一個限度吧,這麼普通。結果等了不到十分鐘的時間便來到了,賣相不太花巧,可是給人簡潔舒服的感覺,有時太花巧倒會畫蛇添足呢。它的設計很好,有保鮮紙包著,一來衛生,二來也不會弄髒自己的手,真的非常貼心。可是好笑的是不知為何旁邊會有數條意粉呢,大概是覺得只是麵包太單調了吧,不過那數條意粉味道也挺好的,又彈牙,只是略嫌凍了一點。
千層三文治吃下去是很好的,因為它用的材料很好,生菜很爽口而且中和了那些芝士和肉味。芝士和火腿也不是一般菜市場的貨色,整個味道不會很濃烈,不會有很鹹或是很「漏」的感覺。麵包當然是我最愛的一部分,因為感覺真的很鬆軟,吃得出牛油的香味,而且一直咀嚼會有一種淡淡的甜味散出來,那種感覺真的是太美好了,感覺麵包就應該是這樣的才對呢! 真的,盡管材料普通,但我還是真的覺得很好吃。
凍咖啡我是覺得稍為偏淡了點,不苦澀也不會有感覺咖啡香,可是麵包太好吃,我也不太介意了。之後我看見它們有自家製的Custard Pudding,就不怕死不怕肥的再叫了來吃,反正就是很想嘗試一下嘛。我看見它們一杯杯的櫃子內,我還好奇為什麼等這麼久還沒得吃的,原來是還是要加工的呢。它來到是真的很漂亮的,見到也不捨得吃下去。它的布甸質感比一般的硬,不會有一團野的感覺,吃下去有很香的雲尼拿和蛋味,而且它在底還加了很多焦糖,將它們一拚放進口,那種感覺真的太滿足了。大家真的可以試下,雖然不便宜。
最後我還光顧了他們買 4 片麵包呢,因為想讓媽咪和哥哥試下,4 片 $35,一直吃的時候發現真的很多人光顧呢。真的很喜歡說日文的老闆和老闆娘,雖然知日本人一向服務好,可是他們的笑容真的很親切,給我感受到是最真心的笑容呢! 我會再來的,因為太喜歡這間店子了。=)

回家放於雪櫃作早餐, 同樣是烘熱再稍微涼再吃, 不是不好吃, 而是期望過高了, 也不知是否應該即食, 還是應選擇厚厚丹麥方包呢?
翻查一下食評, 也絕對同意食家, Yan 我講法, "試了一次也就夠了", 有緣的話(朋友買回來), 再試試丹麥厚方包吧!
PS 這裡的店員態度非常友善, 就算買不到麵包也能讓你心情好過一點!

記得早幾日預訂,以免白走一趟!

食物即叫即製,反正閒情周末也不趕急,揭開雜誌看了一會,很是寫意。餐廳內唯一的男侍應,精通中、英、日三地方言,方便與外籍客人溝通,態度親切有禮,值得一讚。五分鐘後,Choco Banana 先送上來,將香蕉放在略烘的厚切丹麥包上,再鋪上香濃朱古力醬及北海道忌廉,花盡心思的賣相的確惹人好感。輕輕切開,已聽見清脆的「咔嚓」聲,急不及待放進口,脆脆的酥皮完全沒令人失望,內裡油酥層也非常鬆化,味道由口腔內慢慢揮發出來,麵包本身已帶點甜,再加上新鮮香蕉及甜而不俗的朱古力醬,感覺實在美妙動人。不用數分鐘,眼前物已被徹底消化掉,可見其吸引力的確非凡。
食物先甜後鹹,次序反轉了不打緊,另一道 Bo'logne Spicy Chicken Sandwich 緊接登場,即「辣雞三文治」,將香辣雞件、椰菜及少許沙律醬以兩片丹麥包夾著,賣相充實。薄薄的丹麥包烘至金黃,入口又是另一種享受,可惜辣雞件炸得有點過火,部份位置更有點燶,結果肉質有點乾,故整體只屬平平,並不及 Choco Banana 的吸引。
試過博洛尼亞的丹麥包後,每次路經中上環一帶總會心思思想吃,情況有如「上癮」,奈何價錢實在有點貴,堂食近七八十元,偶一為之尚可,長此下去定必負擔不來。所謂「豐儉由人」,最近發現山崎麵包亦有丹麥包供應,質地當然大有不及,但用作止一止心癮還是可以的。

總括一下,個人只推介牛油厚方包。但以其$9/片的高價,試了一次也就夠了,也不會特地山長水遠排隊去試,正如沒興趣去排LV!

位置近堅道,在蓮香樓行上去,絕對不是樂事,在堅道行下來,就比較舒服,此日式小店正好在Bravo Latata斜對面.
至於此小店賣的麵包,會否因博洛尼亞之名,而賣意大利麵包?非也,賣的是丹麥麵包.更聽聞此店的麵包,巴閉到要預訂.心想一個方包,有什麼吸引力?就算幾好吃,都係一舊方包而已.
天朗氣清的周日,在早上十一點左右來到,小店內的食客不多,兩位日籍店員,正在廚房內忙著.順便一提,此店用的是北海道忌廉,很多人一聽到用日本貨就大喜,正如那些潮人飲奶茶,也要下北海道3.6一樣.不過在日式飽店,用日本忌廉,同我們喝東江水一樣理所當然.

三斤厚切
訂三斤厚切丹麥包,105蚊,厚切成15塊,平均7蚊一塊,貴唔貴真係見人見智。
訂包要等4日,取飽當天打風落大雨,個條斜路真係唔講得笑,行上去行落黎,全身濕哂,真係老底都濕埋。不過Honey食過之後,大讚好味,自己試過覺得不外如是,有什麼了不起?但確實三日後仍然都咁好味。
一係唔去,去到一定要買三斤,買一斤不如唔買,實在好<珍貴>呀!
