Yo-ho! The hottest (and coolest! read on...) street snacking sensation is coming to town!

A brainchild of the sister of artiste-turned-entrepreneur Erica Yuen, CRUMBS offers a freshly baked alternative to your usual King Lung Street diet of chips, skewered offals and Taiwanese teas. No-one can resist the aroma of buttery scones right? No wonder the little cheery-yellow shopfront is always packed.

Their signature piping-hot scones are constantly being chruned out from the kitchen, and are swept up instantly by the hungry crowds! Luckily I still managed to get hold of a couple of generous tasting portions the first time I was there.

There are 2 kinds of scones, Raisin and Cheese. The minimum order is 3 scones, $18 for Raisin scones and $21 for Cheese scones. Want to have both? No problem! You can mix the flavours and they charge you by the piece (i.e. $6 for each raisin scone and $7 for each cheese scone, but you still have to buy in 3's).

Now let's go from the tropics to the artics. CRUMBS' other specialty is Frozen Yogurt (Regular size $28). Doesn't look too extraordinary at first sight, but it's a totally different story when you top it with their House Crumbs. I was lucky enough to get this unique complimentary topping on my day of visit. It was 1 week ago, I was told that it was the last day it was given for free. I think now it's charged like the other toppings, but I'd definitely pay my $4 for these golden crunchy morsels bursting with my favourite cinnamon spiciness!
As for the Fro-Yo itself, you can have 1 topping with the $28 cup, and the choice of toppings is reasonable. I have to stress it again - HAVE THE HOUSE CRUMBS!!!

The idea of scones have been looming in my mind since my 1st visit. Soon I was back for more. I bought 2 raisin scones and 1 cheese scones, speed-delivered them home, and couldn't wait to devour them! As the shop's name suggests, CRUMBS' scones really crumbles as you split it, so handle with care!
They are moist and buttery, quite unlike the authentic English scones that you can smear all your jam and clotted cream safely without any problems. I guess their formula is specialised for convenience of your on-the-spot consumption, and suited to local tastes.

Raisin vs Cheese. Actually I prefer Raisin. As some of our fellow reviewers have suggested, the cheese scones were slightly light on the cheese, given that they use a sharp Austrailan Parmsan cheese in them. The full potential of the scones' luring flavours is executed in the raisin scones, although the rasins were not as big or plump as I expected.

Oh no...I'd already gluttonized all the scones, before I remembered to make tea to go with them!!!
