I was attracted by the Chinese cocktail as seen in one of the local newspaper. The entrance is a little inconspicuous, but it is readily recognizable because there is a big red lantern and the huge antique wooden door in burgundy. I was attracted by the Chinese cocktail as seen in one of the local newspaper. The entrance is a little inconspicuous, but it is readily recognizable because there is a big red lantern and the huge antique wooden door in burgundy. It houses 4-5 tables, a bit packed to be frank, but the decoration is excellent! Everything in the same tone: red floral cushions, red napkins, red wall and brownish red wall, and thousands of Master Mao's memorabilia...The music is fantastic and is absolutely in the same mood with the surroundings: some remastered Chinese oldies with modern touch. We had the Huadao fondue: a specially-made Huadao base served with ribeye steak, salmon, mushrooms, Chinese dried duck and sausage, fish maw and vegetables. New taste and we were full of excitement and surprises. The cocktail is excellent, specially its signature cocktail "Alcove" and "The Red Guard"...can't imagine Chinese wine can be so fascinating!
We also tried their exclusive Tai Dao 8 years and it is the best I have ever had. The staffs there are forth-coming, stylish, good-looking young gentleman. We had a good time. It will be better if lighting inside the toilet can be brighter and the air-con can be set cooler. Easy to find, happy to dine and an excellent venue for Chinese wine. For sure it worths revisiting in the coming future.
