After visiting serveral western waffle places, I concluded that I prefer the Chinese style waffle more. Why ? Probably because it has peanut butterand I don't like the warm waffle plus cold ice cream combination.I got there at about 230 in the afternoon. After being misled by google map I realized that this little place was only about 50 steps away from one of the mtr exits. There was a line of about 6-7 ppl when I got there. I got there at about 230 in the afternoon. After being misled by google map I realized that this little place was only about 50 steps away from one of the mtr exits. There was a line of about 6-7 ppl when I got there. Omg was it ever hot, I wonder how they stand there all day making these waffles. They had a few cookers going at a time, how skillful!Also, they were very organized. One person cooked the batter, some put the waffles togther, and one dealt with customers by taking orders and handling money.
Although sweat was pouring off my face, it was definitely worth the wait. I've never seen such patient staff before. He patiently asked every customer what they wanted, and if they wanted the waffle, did they want it loaded (Peanutbutter, sweet condensed milk and sugar) and cut into different portions.You can get one for $13 or two for $24. Pretty reasonable in my opinion.Since it was my first try, I decided to have it loaded! Yup I did. Man was it ever good. The warm waffle had heated up the pb so the pb along with the milk and sugar became runny, which made it a little messy to eat, but also extra delicious!
I liked it because it reminded me of the ones that I used to have when I was little. Maybe because other places don't put as much stuff in theirs so this tasted especially tasty. Every bite had a bit of everything and the waffle itself had enough taste so together, it was a perfect waffle. Also, I recentldonee one that hardened really quickly, which made it quite hard on my jaw but this one didn't have this issue.
Final verdict:
I think this waffle is the best one I've had since my childhood and I'd be gladly to go back for it anytime. Next time, I'm gonna have to try their egg waffle!
