Just yesterday visited this shop again after a while.I must say the quality of food & service declined. I ate Saboten for 10+ years already every now and then, but the post pandemic Saboten looks differ in not a good way.Few points:1. Meat quality - pork tenderloin is good, but why the crumbs were not..? It’s so easily fell off from the meat. So strange. Similarly for the shrimp, 2 shrimp have 2 different crumb texture.2. Served with incomplete portion, I ordered tenderloin and shrimp(2) combo f
I must say the quality of food & service declined.
I ate Saboten for 10+ years already every now and then, but the post pandemic Saboten looks differ in not a good way.
Few points:
1. Meat quality - pork tenderloin is good, but why the crumbs were not..? It’s so easily fell off from the meat. So strange. Similarly for the shrimp, 2 shrimp have 2 different crumb texture.
2. Served with incomplete portion, I ordered tenderloin and shrimp(2) combo for HKD198. It comes with only 1 until I queried and match against the menu.
3. Some of us were half full, we are not ordering each of us 1 (order 2 set for 3 ppl) they are surprised, telling us no refills on rice veggie and condiments.
4. Service is as what HK style service, but felt judged because of the point 3 above.
Overall, I must say the quality and service needs to be improved. It used to be my fave katsu shop, but not anymore, given options available.
