When someone brings up French food, you think of butter, cheese, fat, and more butter. This is not the case at Bungalow, which serves very well thought-out classic French dishes with a modern twist. I had the honor of tasting some of Bungalow's newest summer dishes that will be available as of June 1st. My favorites were:

Steamed Miyagi Mussels - This is a dish perfect for sharing! Miyagi mussels are naturally very sweet, and it is rare that restaurants import these mussels, making this dish truly unique in its own way. Mussels are steamed with garlic, shallots, white wine and lemon, and served with homemade fluffy brioche!

Smoked Duck Breast - Smoked in-house to perfection, this dish was very light despite it being duck! It is coated with a thin layer of brown butter pepper glaze, and served medium rare to medium depending on guests preference.

Slow Cooked Octopus - Tender, juicy slow cooked and charred octopus with Spanish chorizo - the flavors all melt together, and is truly unique! The spiciness from the chorizo, sweetness from the grapes, and faint smoke flavor from the octopus really blend well.

I have dined at Bungalow before, and some must try dishes that will stay on the summer menu are Brandade Aligot, Barley Salad, Grilled Pork Chops, and Sable Fish! My meals are usually around $400 per person, which is very well priced considering the high quality of seafood / meats used, and the chef's attention to detail for every ingredient. I almost forgot to mention - they have some delicious sides to accompany your meal, so you'll want to order a few of those as well.
