Have been searching for a good Turkish resto since “I Love Istanbul” moved to Ma Wan years ago🥲 My first and only visit at its original location in Mong Kok has given me good impression on Turkish food and especially Turkish coffee.

Trying out Lebanese cuisine was not part of my foodie agenda, yet the random pick has awakened much of my crave for Middle Eastern cuisines🥹. It’s only after the visit that I found out the resto is one of @blacksheeprestaurants ’s collection. Food, environment and service deserved a straight 5-star review from me🤓

Situated at the heart of SoHo, the resto has a low-key facade design that you would probably miss out on your way up the escalator to the Mid-Levels🫢 The shop looks no different from a kebab outlet at first glance🙈. With the contrast, the interior of the second floor was a surprise 👀. Decorated with rich Lebanese colors, the interior projected an exotic, vintage yet cozy atmosphere, perfect for a long catch-up with friends.

We ordered a cold dish and 2 hot dishes of “mezzé” - Lebanese version of tapas😝. Hummus Bil Tahini, made with chickpea purée, tahini and olive oil, was a cold dip served together with hot pita bread😋 Simple as it seemed, the dish gave us a solid introduction of the unique and distinct spicing culture of Middle Eastern cuisines😎

Shish Taouk was unexpectedly the MVP of the meal🫶🏽. The dish was chargrilled chicken skewers richly spiced with sumac, toum and coriander, which gave a hint of Thai flavours that I love🙈🤣 the chicken meat was so tender and flavorful, making us finish our wines pretty quickly🥲. The dish was served together with spiced rice and yogurt which perfectly complemented the course with extra elements you might desire🤓

Four courses were indeed very satisfying for the gang of three and we were too full for dessert🥲 I will definitely return for the dessert, chicken skewers and hot pita bread with cold hummus spread🤓
