切得非常薄片, GARLIC不算太重, 不太咸, 十分有口感和咬口
因為味道唔錯, 一黎KO左幾塊先記得影相, 所以只剩下三片

唔知係咪要等埋一齊上的關係
RIBS份量不少, 但黎到的時候已是微暖, 大打折扣
切下去唔算太稔, 亦有點痴骨, 肉質有點靭, 整體來說味道十分一般
完全不能同RUBY TUESDAY的RIBS比較
接下來的PORK BURGER完全是敗筆
免治豬肉完全不JUICY, 亦無乜豬味, 味道十分淡
吃了一半已完全唔想再食
反而伴碟的薯條做得不錯, 炸得很脆, 而且外層有些少鹽, 很惹味

吃完以上三道菜後, 我便明白為何場面這麼冷清
或許它的LUNCH或豬手做得很出色,但晚飯來說,規定DINNER SET一定要二人起
雖然以豬為主題, 但食豬的菜式出奇地少選擇, 而且味道也非常一般
我想下次黎開中環這間餐廳都不會在考慮之列了

腩肉很軟熟很香,可是mango salsa則好像是‘搭枱’一般,十分格格不入… 而且份量真的很小很小,雖說是頭盤,但$128三小件,怎麼說也是說不過去吧。
來到主菜,我們點的是三文魚配雜菜。三文魚不過不失,但絕對稱不上好吃,那些配菜更是離譜!竟然是急凍雜豆三寶-紅蘿蔔、青豆跟粟米!若不是記得餐牌說有露荀,有誰會認得出被切至小粒的綠色物體就是露荀?我們另外加了一個奶油煮Brussel Sprout,怎的也是失望收場,嚴重overcook,顏色也變成啡黃色,入口即化。
到結帳時,店員終於以極速把帳單送上,可是態度欠佳,令人極為不舒服。
總括來說,這次用餐經驗十分差,可能只是個別員工或是什麼,但如此價錢,個人來說是十分不滿,亦不會再光顧。

Aoused Mackerel & baby spinach salad︰Veggie勉強只係叫做一般貨式,冇乜特別,反而最喜出望外既係Mackerel同埋Egg Benedict。雖然Mackerel一食就食得出係罐頭野,但係overall感覺都算可以接受,咁細碟野但居然有兩大條,呢個portion我都覺得有D surprise。最特別既係egg benedict,半生熟蛋撈埋D veggie之後,蛋漿既甜味撈埋菜既鮮味一齊食既口感真係一流!

Pork Knuckle︰特了又等,主角Knuckle終於出場。店員非常細心,先將成隻Knuckle上枱,等我地「俾相機食先」,跟住先至將佢攞埋一二邊同佢「分屍」。切完之後有差唔多十舊,連埋焗薯仔、蕃薯同埋德國醃椰菜上枱既時候我幾乎肯定兩個人係冇可能食得晒既!
Anyway,豬手既肉質非常特別,連埋皮一啖食落肚既時候唔單止唔會「乾爭爭」,重食到少少豬肉juicy既肉汁,配合埋mustard sauce果種酸酸甜甜既感覺,口感真係超正!配菜同埋豬手既皮完全跟足德國正宗方法去煮,當然唔能夠做到好似港式乳豬咁脆既感覺,但係咁樣反而可以更加食得出豬既皮既口感。豬肉雖然冇乜點樣醃製過,但因為咁,佢更加可以突出肉既質感同埋原汁原味,超正!

Overall絕對收貨,我咁講呢度既Pork Knuckle肯定係熱愛正宗德國豬手既人既必食之選!

You can quite happy have your own starter and main course, but there are a few things on the menu designed for sharing, which is they way we decided to go.For starters we had the mixed meat platter. The cold meats were nice, but the home made, still warm scotch egg was a real treat, and the terrine was simply the nicest I have ever tasted. Delicious!For the main we opted for the pork knuckle, which turned out to be a very VERY wise decision. The knuckle is first shown to you whole, and is then taken away to take the meat off the bone. This is then presented on a board with saurkraut and roasted parsnips, all of which were delicious. The meat itself was succlent and the skin perfectly crispy enough.... Delicious..As extra, we ordered mash and creamed brussel sprouts. The sprouts come with small bacon (of course) bits, and the mash comes with small knobs of butter on top, so that you have that wonderful rich buttery taste. Heavenly!Both of us were really hungry, but we couldn't manage to eat it all. Instead the staff very kindly gave us a doggy bag to take it away in. This seemed to be no problem at all.The staff were fantastic. For me they had the perfect balance of service and leaving you to enjoy your meal. No "is everything ok?" every 2 mins by different staff. Refreshing,..It was just the two of us for dinner. Whilst this is in no way a "fine dining" restaurant, the tables are far enough apart that you can make the evening what you want.. I felt our table was very private.We will definately go back again, and I would also like to go there with a group of people so that we can try more things from the sharing menu.Dinner for two without drinks was less than $700 before service.I highly recommend this restaurant. I am told that they have opened one in Knutsford Terrace as well, so all of those who are in TST can get to try it out too without having to cross the water.
Other Info. : Just turn up and eat.. You won;t be dissapointed!

大大件的主菜,同枱女士竟然食得哂!豬排是先出過水再焗的那種,因為用刀輕輕一切,骨與肉就輕易地完全分離了。
整個用餐體驗,我會給「乙+」,服務也殷勤。就算你不喜歡吃肉也不太緊要,因為菜式內有蠻多蔬菜配搭,非食肉獸一族也可以一試。

又是到灣仔開會的時候, 之後又轉到中環跟親愛的友人吃飯。上次去到了這樓下一樓的店, 那個差劣服務的奇遇, 令人難忘。不過只是用腳行上一層, 卻是另一個世界。雖然餐廳裝潢, 擺設與用具都跟一樓的有些相似, 亦有理由相信這兩家餐廳是屬同一個集團的, 但是服務感受是截然不同。餐廳午餐大約HK$148 - 178一個人, 收費跟樓下一樣, 不過有收加一服務費。除主菜外, 還有一個沙律或湯, 而飲品需另加HK$20。友人在餐前選來的沙律是Beetroot, Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes沙律。Beetroot鮮味甚強, 而且質料健康。中間的Cheese成半韌性忌廉狀, 需打散攪拌, 分進沙律葉之中, 因為芝士比較鹹, 所以分在葉堆中會較好。Cherry Tomatoes清爽嫩口, 蕃茄汁一咬溢出, 感覺涼爽。沙律葉種由兩至三種混合, 苦味不多, 質感不算太爽, 不過鮮味強一點。加上紅蔥乾及金蒜粒, 令整個沙律來得更脆更惹味。另一個我選的是一個以醋鹹醃的鯖魚為主體的沙律, 沙律葉的組合與味道跟Beetroot的那個相近。不過重點卻在那些一粒粒的鹽醋醃的鯖魚身上, 口味不算太鹹太酸,

又是到灣仔開會的時候, 之後又轉到中環跟親愛的友人吃飯。上次去到了這樓下一樓的店, 那個差劣服務的奇遇, 令人難忘。不過只是用腳行上一層, 卻是另一個世界。雖然餐廳裝潢, 擺設與用具都跟一樓的有些相似, 亦有理由相信這兩家餐廳是屬同一個集團的, 但是服務感受是截然不同。

餐廳午餐大約HK$148 - 178一個人, 收費跟樓下一樣, 不過有收加一服務費。除主菜外, 還有一個沙律或湯, 而飲品需另加HK$20。

友人在餐前選來的沙律是Beetroot, Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes沙律。Beetroot鮮味甚強, 而且質料健康。中間的Cheese成半韌性忌廉狀, 需打散攪拌, 分進沙律葉之中, 因為芝士比較鹹, 所以分在葉堆中會較好。Cherry Tomatoes清爽嫩口, 蕃茄汁一咬溢出, 感覺涼爽。沙律葉種由兩至三種混合, 苦味不多, 質感不算太爽, 不過鮮味強一點。加上紅蔥乾及金蒜粒, 令整個沙律來得更脆更惹味。

另一個我選的是一個以醋鹹醃的鯖魚為主體的沙律, 沙律葉的組合與味道跟Beetroot的那個相近。不過重點卻在那些一粒粒的鹽醋醃的鯖魚身上, 口味不算太鹹太酸, 亦沒有死鹹死酸的效果。味道平衡得很好, 而且鯖魚質感不霉, 反而有彈性, 可以空口吃, 調味很吸引。加上紅蔥乾與金蒜的點綴, 令整體香口感覺來得更好。

主菜方面, 我們共點了一隻的豬手。因為午餐訂明, 豬手是供兩個人吃的, 所以我們的午餐主菜就結合成一隻豬手。餐廳店員特別於豬手上菜之時來到我們的面前, 給我們大刀闊釜的拍照。這裡的服務是有細心的打理與操作, 只是有心服務的人才可做到, 絕對比一樓的好很很很很很很多。

豬手的外型令我想起了鹿鳴春的窩燒肘子, 不過鹿的當然大很多。友人還說豬手這樣小, 不知我們是否夠食。餐廳在旁供應是由法式芥末做出來的微酸醬汁, 用意在於消除豬手油膩。

之後店員在餐廳的另一端將豬手切開, 大約有十件。旁邊放有焗的薯仔粗條和德國式傳統的醃椰菜。豬手外皮脆皮, 皮下充滿油脂, 入口未至鬆化, 但咬下依然脆口。可是, 皮要整塊食才好一點, 因為比較難切開。

最令人驚喜的是豬手中間的肉, 一般豬手做得不好, 裡面的肉做得又乾又嚡。不過這個豬手的肉除了啖啖肉口感之外, 還感覺到暖口的油香及嫩滑的質感。肉質組織不會有入口即溶的軟淋感覺, 但是卻有肉類的軟滑嚼勁, 相當可口。吃這些瘦肉不會令人覺得是豬手最不欣賞的部分, 反而是可享受豬手的全部。瘦肉跟皮中間夾著的肥肉, 當然肥油可愛, 亦為瘦提供了不少香口的感覺。不過它的質感不是中式入口即溶那款, 而是有肥膏彈性而爽口的肥肉。咬下去, 感覺似吃肋骨邊旁的水晶肉一般能嚼, 但覺油脂退去不少。

整體這隻豬手來說, 以豬國豬手做法, 這已經是很不錯, 而且能配合香港人的口味。不過相比中式燒豬的皮脆化口感覺, 西式的始終難比, 畢竟它沒有了細針拮下密孔, 令皮下瀉油及讓空間闖進的步驟。不過餐廳整體都覺可以, 沙律配套不差, 服務更可說好。既然收費差不多, 食物質素亦不差, 何以要到下面受氣呢?!

The ambiance was a toss between casual chic and intimate - the decors and lighting suggested intimacy but the music and loud chatter between tables suggested otherwise. The place looks great for a relaxing chit chat with friends, but maybe not for a date (unless, I suppose, if you get one of those slightly secluded booths they have on the quieter side of the restaurant).

They have a bottle of Porkus wine on every table. No idea if this is any good as we didn't try ours but I just find it cute to have a bottle of wine with a picture of a pig in a pork-themed restaurant.

We started with:

Soup in a bread bowl - very filling with mild garlicky tones and an amazing pot pourri of textures in your mouth with every spoonful. (The bread bowl itself was pretty yummy, too!)

Brioche toast with mushroom spread - the toast was delicious with a slightly sticky top and crumbly bottom, but the mushroom spread had a weird aftertaste and took some getting used to. We didn't finish this one.

Scallops wrapped in bacon - this was awesome. I can't imagine anybody going wrong with anything wrapped in bacon.

For mains we had:

Crispy pork knuckle - this was good for two people and was just amazing. It was cooked to a beautiful pink-red colour that was oozing with flavour and meat so tender they were almost melting in your mouth. The skin was crispy and the tendon in between so chewy. The portion was more than adequate and came with fried potatoes, sweet potatoes and sauerkraut.

吃得開心,禁不住要寫人生第一次食評 早一星期來到預祝爸爸日*星期天的中午客人不多有家人遲大到,我們足足白坐了45分鐘但店員沒有催點菜,還時常斟水、回答我關於餐牌上的問題, 好好人啊!我們點了三個單人餐+一個兩人餐兩個沙律:三個(兩款)頭盤:四款主菜來了!最後我們還加了餐飲和甜品+20 有一款, +30$ 就兩樣都有咖啡有latte, cappucino 可揀:)甜品的pear almond tart也很不錯!午餐很抵吃,環境很舒適,服務又好, 會再來!

I visited the Salted Pig for Sunday lunch and was immediately impressed with the decor, tables and chairs etc. The menu also stood out as simple and of unique design. So far v. impressed.

My party of five arrived at about 11.10am and were told the kitchen doesn't open until 11.30am. Fair enough, no problem there, so we ordered drinks and chatted away until 11.35am when we told we could order. It was very quiet when we ordered. Besides ourselves there were a maximum of 4 other diners present and as we were first to arrive at the restaurant first I would assume that we were first to order.

We ordered:
Two all day breakfasts $128 each, one pork burger and chips $138, pork skillet something or another and the other i honestly can't remember. I won't go into detail about the quality of the food, all I will say is that we were all very satisfied with our meals. However, we expected to be able to enjoy our meals at the same time, as a group of 5 but this wasn't the case. Our meals came out in 3 rounds! The first to arrive were the two all day breakfasts that arrived 40-45mins after ordering. The next meals to leave the kitchen arrived 10-15 minutes after the first 2, leaving one person still without food and one person having already finished their meal. Finally, the last meal arrived 5 mins after the previous wave.

Each time we asked a server when our food would arrive they assured us in an apologetic tone that it would arrive shortly but were given no explanation or apology for the inconvenience. Therefore, I have no reason not to believe that The Salted Pig think it is acceptable to bring a table's mains out with a 20mins difference between them and a return visit would result in a similar experience.

Another thing that annoyed me was that while 3 of us were still waiting for our food, one of the severs was sitting at the far end of the bar eating his lunch. Maybe that's what was keeping the kitchen busy I really don't know. Even if it was a packed lunch his loving mother prepared for him before she kissed him goodbye that morning it's inappropriate to tuck into your lunch in view of customers who are still waiting for theirs.

Just before we left, my girlfriend and I got up to check out the open kitchen just because we're interested in things like that. They are lucky to have a very big kitchen at the Salted Pig and it's great when the customers can see their meals being prepared and cooked (we were seated at the other end of the restaurant).
All the time we were waiting for our meals we tried to think what could possibly be taking the kitchen so long. We speculated that apart from the possibility that such practices are the norm at the salted pig, maybe because we ordered as the kitchen opened the chef might not have been prepared. Still not acceptable. W also considered that there might only be one chef working but when we got up to check out the open kitchen i counted no fewer than 5 chefs/kitchen porters!!
SHOCK. I've worked in restaurants that have served lunch with one chef and one kitchen porter in a space half the size of the kitchen at TSP and they will always send a tables's dishes out at the same time. There would never be a gap of more than 5 mins between dishes. When we made mistakes and customers were greatly inconvenienced we voluntarily removed the service charge because it's disrepectful to the customer.

In the end we paid the 10% service charge because the service was satisfactory and the servers shouldn't have to suffer because of the kitchen. If we did refuse to pay service then maybe the waiting staff would give the kitchen kick up the arse for losing them money but I've never refused to pay service charge here in HK and don't know how that would go down, especially with the culture/language barrier.

至於主菜,我們點了豬手和豬肋骨。侍應先給我們看看整隻豬手,然後切了才給我們,十分窩心。這隻豬手不是太醎,肉質很嫰,而且皮很脆,做得非常不錯!而且份量足夠三個人吃。不得不提的是那個 homemade Sauerkraut, 不是太酸,切得很幼,十分開胃。至於豬肋骨也做的很好味,肉很嫰滑,跟平日通常吃到很乾身不同,就算不加那醬汁都已經夠味了。我也喜歡那兩片沙律菜,用了醋汁作 dressing, 有消油膩的作用。

最後朋友生日也事先點了個甜品:Banana Fudge Eton Mess,廚師也很好的在碟上寫上了 Happy Birthday。用玻璃杯盛載住的甜品,賣相已經十分吸引。幼滑忌廉加上香蕉片和朱古力醬,口感非豐富。如果你喜歡吃香蕉一定會喜歡這個甜品
