bad & slow service
Pastis Tapas
2020-10-23
We walked in for lunch & music was very loud. I told staff to turn it down but they turned it even louder. I then had to complain 2 more times before they turned it down. We had lunch set (salad, fish main course, dessert). Salad & dessert were OK but main course was bad. Fish was very dry. The service was very slow & absent minded. They did not replace our silverware after taking used ones away. Pepper mill had no pepper. Water refilling was very slow. We had to wait a long time for dessert. Will not come back. …Read More

Waalah

Terrible service. My wife and I went there for brunch. I ordered fried eggs (煎蛋) but they gave me scrambled. I told them not to put butter on my bread but they did. They also forgot to put baked beans on my plate. Unlike me, my wife did want butter for her bread. But they used to have butter in individual packages for the customer but they now no longer have, must be a cost cutting measure. They also offered hash browns before but not now. Overall, the brunch selection is much more limited than before. They must be trying to cut costs. …Read More

Schnurrbart German Pub and Restaurant
2018-05-12
We have been regular customers here over the last 15 years. But the service has really declined recently and it seems the staff is totally new/different from what it was a few years ago. The service staff don't understand English and got our order totally wrong. 3 out of the 4 dishes we ordered were wrong because of this. The wine by the glass was also very small in terms of portion, maybe about 80ml when a standard glass is around 150ml. We ordered asparagus soup, rollmop, a ham & asparagus dish, and a pork dish. But what came out was a different soup, a salmon instead of pork...you get the picture. The staff of this restaurant is totally new they are totally incompetent. Perhaps the ownership has changed although when I asked about this, they said its the same. …Read More

Charlie's Chili Kitchen
2017-08-10
The food is all very oily (even by Sichuan food standards). Service staff also extremely inattentive, we had to call them several times for everything even though the restaurant was not busy at all.We ordered following dishesreserved egg - drowning in oil, way too much oil.Liang fen (涼粉 ) - drowning in oil, way too much oil.Spicy Xinjiang style chicken stew - again, way too much oil. Thick layer of oil on top. Sour diced green beans with minced pork - OK, only dish that did not have too much oil. Overall, not a good experience. …Read More

Han Ga Ram Korean Cuisine (QRE Plaza)
2016-04-28
Nice comfortable atmosphere. Tables are resonably spaced. Food was on expensive side. We ordered stir-fried octopus, glass noodles, steak tartar and a bbq beef dish. The steak tartar had slices of pears but was underseasoned. The bbq beef was good quality and portion was decent, with good marbeling. Glass noodles had seafood (shrimp & mussels) in it which makes it different from the usual served at many Korean restaurants. The stir-fired octopus had the right amount of spice and the octopus itself was not chewy. The 4 dishes in total was almost HK$1,000. We also had OB beer which was HK$38 per small bottle. There is a big problem with the service in that the staff get upset if we don't order the expensive bbq dishes. They kept asking us if wanted to order more of such dishes and seemed very dissapointed when we said no. There are plenty of other good Korean restaurants in HK where the staff are much more friendly/accomodating so no need to go back to this place.…Read More

Xiao Wang Beef Noodle
2015-08-10
This place has been super busy since it first opened. Is it worth it?Two of us went here for lunch and ordered:half beef/half beef tendon noodle: the bowl had an off/strange taste, a bit like dirty intestine. And there was human hair in the bowl. This place really needs to improve its sanitary/cleaniliness.  Noodle was cooked OK. Beef was good but tendons were way too soft.Cucumber with seaseme sauce: a very simple dish that we can easily make at home. Nothing special at all.Tofu with preserved egg and pork floss: this was served too cold, preserved egg did not have much taste as it was cut into very small pieces. Pork floss tasted stale and old.To sum up, I will never go back to this place again. It is just bad. They charge 10% service charge but there is no service. …Read More

good food, very slow service
Mandy's Caribbean Bar and Restaurant
2015-04-27
My wife and I went there for a Sunday lunch. Here is what we ordered:Vegan spread with pita bread: this dish came with 2 spreads, 1 was tomato/chili based and the other was eggplant based. This dish was tasty but portion was quite small for a HK$75 dish.Fish curry: this was tasty and curry was good and not oily at all. The curry gravy was not heavy but had good amount of flavour.. The portion size of the fish was a bit small, good for someone with small apetite.  Goat curry: again this was a tasty dish and not too oily. It was a heavier dish than the fish curry so more filling. The service was very slow. Our appetizer took more than 30 minutes to arrive and we waited for about 80 minutes (from seating) for the mains. However, the restaurant explained they were short staffed that day so I'm not sure if service would normally be much faster. Overall, the food was good although portions tended to be on small side, but the main letdown was the very slow service. …Read More

a total rip-off
Plaza mayor
2014-03-15
This place is a total rip-off. Totally over-priced.Tapas:Garlic shrimp: 3 small shrimps for HK$70. So expensive and very small.Cold sardines in vinegar/garlic. Again, very very small portion for HK$70. Not worth it.White bean stew for HK$150: taste is good but portion very small.Tuna & potatoe stew for HK$150: not much taste and portion small. If you have money to waste, go ahead and try this place. Otherwise, avoid!!!The service was OK and they were willing to give us free tap water after we asked. But its jsut too expensive.…Read More

worst food ever
Noble Spice
2014-03-14
Just about the worst Indian/Nepalese food we've had in HK. We ordered dinner set at HK$128/person + 10%.Starters:Samosas: very thick skin with barely any filling, and filling was bland.Aloo chaat: potatoes mixed with what tasted like ketchup.Soup: chicken & corn soup that tasted like it came out of a can, and not Indian/Nepalese tasting at all.Mains:Seasonal vegetable dish made of potatoes: very bland.Fish curry: fish was tender but sauce was very average.Minced lamb tandoor: best dish of the day, but nothing special either.Bread: rothi paraatha - tasted like it was undercooked, very doughy.I'm amazed at the good reviews, my experience was very bad. …Read More

蜀府川鍋
2013-08-11
Went there on Fri night with3 people. Not busy at all so seated pretty fast. We hadreserved egg with chili peppers: small portion, taste is OK, a bit too oily.green vegetables with dried fish and black beans: dried fish tasted like they were from can, dish is a bit too oily.sour vegetable fish: one of the worst dishes I've had at any restaurant. the broth was pure oil, way too oily. fish was bony and not freash. this was just disgusting.rice: HK$15 for 1 bowl of rice, a bit of a rip off. And cooked in pig lard which they didn't say at first.we had 2 bottles of beer but staff insisted we had to pay for beer first on a separate basis, very strange. they refused to add it to food bill.all together, this meal was way too oily and just disgusting. will never go there again.…Read More

dissapointed
Palki Indian Restaurant
2013-08-03
Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Not crowded so we were seated immediately. The 1st thing that surprised us is unlike most other Indian restaurants in HK, this place does not give free papadams. 2 of us ordered:Shrimp curry - the sauce was good but the shrimps were very small and overcooked, shrimp was almost mushy. Did have fresh ginger on top which was a nice touch. Aloo gobi - fine, no complaints. Pretty standard so hard to get this dish wrong. Again, had fresh ginger on toop which was good.Garlic Naan - a bit too much ghee butter. Otherwise fine. Plain rice - overcooked, almost mushy. The service was OK. Total bill for what we ordered about HK$200. Amongst the Indian restaurants in HK, I would rate this slightly below average. Don't understand all the positive reviews. …Read More

high quality western food in tong fuk
The Gallery Bar & Restaurant
2013-06-12
2 of us went for dinner on a Saturday and ordered:Grilled calamari skewer: tender and grilled just right, with nice spicy sour sauce on side. Sauce had bits of cilantro in it which was good. Just 2 skewers so portion not big. Mixed appetizer platter: combo of chorizo, olives, grilled bell peppers, bread, and camenbert cheese. Very tasty (all of it). Also came with raw small tomatoes and raw red onions, nice accompaniment. The cambenbert cheese and bread came warm which was good. The bread was a bit crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. There was only a tiny bit of grilled bell peppers, would have been better with more.Peppeorini Pizza: good but seems would be even better with more cheese, seem to remember they put more cheese in previous years when we went. The dough part was thin and crispy. Came with salad greens in the middle which was nice (don't know the name of the salad greens).London Pride Beer (draft) - tasty, great.Paulaner's Weisbeer (by bottle) - tasty.  Still preferred London Pride draft.Bill for 2 people with 4 pints of beer came to HK$610 (without service charge). Not that cheap but given the high quality, it seems reasonable.Environment - sat outside, they have nice cooling fans. My friend however still got bit by a few mosquitos and had to put on spray. Service - good. …Read More

Butagumi Tonkatsu

Ordered 2 person dinner set.House special salad - OK.Mix sashimi - not fresh at all, very bad.Grilled meat on stick - meat cut too big, not bite sized.Deep fried prawns and oyster - Just OK, prawns quite oily when it should be dry.Mushrooms baked in butter - Ok.Udon - ok, a bit too soft.Overall, a disappointing experience. They served sashimi after the hot food had already arrived, very unprofessional.…Read More

2 of us ordered dinner set, one was Jamaican chicken and other was "french" style ribs. The Jamaican chicken was just chicken in curry sauce, did not taste "Jamaican" at all. The ribs were average, sauce used on ribs tasted like Phillipino style adobo sauce, not surprising as head chef is Phillipino. The cream based soup of the dinner set was quite average, tasted like cream soup out of a can. Overall, food is very average but reasonably priced. $40 corkage charge for wine also very reasonable. …Read More

New chef, food quality has declined
NaturoPlus
2010-12-07
Haven't been to Naturo in over 6 months. Came this time and saw they changed chefs. Also confirmed by the staff that they changed chef. Menu prices also seemed to have risen. There were 2 of us and here is what we ordered:Starter of pan fried thai fish cake - 4 very small pieces of fish cake for $78. Tasty but way over priced.Beef steak - very small, but taste was good.Pork knuckle - very average, skin not that crispy. House white wine (Wild Fox Sauv Blanc): pretty decent for the price.Service was friendly if a bit too relaxed. But overall quality has declined since old chef left. And prices not as attractive as they used to be.:(I went to this restaurant many times before but not sure if I will go back now.…Read More
