Very disappointed don’t come
Ebisoba Ichigen
2025-03-18
Below average and never coming to this branch again. I had high expectations given the brand but this store has lack of heart and the whole taste and price your paying is below average or close to 1/10 experience. I ordered the one person set which comes with drink, salad, 3 gyoza and ramen. All below average, ingredients doesn’t feel fresh, cooked by amateur & more importantly the soup was tasteless and like water with a strange oil taste. Honestly damage of $121 felt like a scam knowing how great other branches are for the same brand of ramen. Totally ruin my day overall. Please don’t come as the store manager or owner is not bothered for any quality control.…Read More

Average Lunch but ok for talking
Hanagushi Yakitori Japanese Restaurant
2022-04-30
Central work life #2 Heard alot about it and it’s not easy for lunch booking. Went with a big group and tried their lunch set. Nice variety to choose from. I selected the assorted yakitori set $195.This came with eggplant snack and miso soup to start with. Nothing special but as expected. The main tasted quite nice but just average and nothing to wow for. It included scallop, mushroom, tofu, chicken minced meat ball & bacon asparagus roll skewers (one each) with some salad. The rice was a huge disappointment, as it was overcooked and was quite soggy. Subjective as other felt it was ok but I’m picky to rice cooked well. In conclusion, I think it’s good for get together and for chit chat if you’re work at central, but definitely not for the food and was overvalued for my standards. The rice was really a let down for me personally which needs improvement. They do have membership, where you need to spend $3000 within 3 months for a free ice cream on the lunch set.…Read More

Shum Tseng Chan Kee Roasted Goose (Yip Fung Building)
2022-04-27
Central work life #1. After working back in the office, want to try to do more honest reviews in the area.Had a nice experience at their Sham Tseng restaurant and recalled their goose was juicy and tasty. Decided to takeaway at their central branch for lunch, $62 for Goose Four Treasure Rice. Total disappointment and the goose was nowhere near the Sham Tseng branch. It was dry and lots of bone cuts provided. The chicken was dry, the sausage & salted egg was ok. Everything was below average. Not recommended even for takeout for this price, as there are many more better options. Stay tuned.…Read More

MUTA Restaurant by ATUM
2022-02-19
Woke up early so decided to have some nice brunch, especially something more spacious during the pandemic. Decided to try Muta from my recent bookmarks.Easy to find on the basement floor inside Mira mall. Waitress was friendly to let us choose a table to our comfort, and there was a nice tatami jap style table. Went for a table besides the plants. Not much people in the morning but I’m sure lunch would be more packed.Everything was available in morning like pasta, but opt for all day breakfast instead (one ladies and gentlemen $138 each). Coffee abit pricy but some nice selection of flavours. I went for cappuccino ($48).Food overall both breakie were really nice & had presentation. Nice quality of sausages and fries, which was the thinner ones and not oily at all (ladies friendly as well). Eggs, mushrooms, salad, tomatoes and avo were all very fresh and lighter taste - good for me and not saggy defrost stuff. Room of improvements, the bread and brioche was rather small, so recommend bigger portions especially the toast. The jam was cranberry or one of the berries, but wasn’t too tasty or fruity, but credit it feels self made and not straight from the supermarkets. Cappuccino nothing special and light bean taste. Nice presentation but I’ll try others next time given it’s average. The tables and decor has a modern Japanese casual style vibe. Would come for lunch and dinner next time and would love to sit at those tatami tables. Recommended cafe for nice food, environment & service. All the waiters were nice and polite which is good hk standard. It’s on the slightly pricer side with 10% service charge, but premium is something I’m willing to pay, given the mall rent and everything above. It’s slightly pricier then smaller local cafes, where they charge high prices with inconsistent service and quality, so give Muta a try :)…Read More

Disappointed Coffee and Cafe
Second Sip by Studio Caffeine
2022-02-16
Wanted to stop by Tai Hang for some nice coffee chill. Most places was full so found a more quiet one - Second Sip.Sat down and ordered cappuccino and hazelnut latte. The counter lady didn’t mention what beans were available so I guess one bean or bad service. The decor was ok but wasn’t near anything worth for IG nor did the place felt clean. Abit rusty and the toilet was quite dirty. Overall the coffee was plain nothing special and the waiter didn’t even mention which one was cappuccino vs latte when servicing. The bigger cup was the latte ($44) and blue smaller one cappuccino ($40).Service wasn’t friendly, no smiles and no see you next time or thank you while leaving. Really a first for me out of all the newer cafes. Overall not recommended especially with the price but if you want a place for a coffee sit down without service and very average coffee sure give it a try. For me, I rather try the other ones around the area or back to causeway bay for something nicer where you feel wanted.…Read More

Average Thai takeout
CHAO PHRAYA
2022-02-12
Kln city is the place to go for Thai food. There are so many so decided to try Chao Phraya for takeout. They’ve lunch sets covering most such as boat noodles, fried rice and noodles etc. Include Thai drinks but abit pricer than others around the area but hey let’s give it a try.Ordered:(1) Fried flat noodles in gravy sauce $60(2) Shrimp paste fried rice $68(3) Prawn cakes $22 add on from lunch set(4) Boneless chicken feet sweet & spicy salad $22 add on from lunch setBox charge $1 each(5) iced milk teaAll the people working here seems to be Thai speaking canto, so authentic but taste was just average. Thai milk tea was decent but nothing special to come for. Try for convenience only.…Read More

Recommended Nice Indian food
Rajasthan Rifles
2022-02-07
Great option at the Peak! Heard great recommendations but never had the chance to swing by, so gave it a try this time around for lunch.Went indoors since it was windy but there’s a nice outdoor area for doggies and chilling. Overall comfy clean table seats with nice decoration of British Indian military. Some waiters also dressed up. Service was great and wasn’t pushy to finish or for collecting dishes. Asked how was the food so definitely on the better side (no it’s not normal for hk standards…).Ordered the following(1) Keema and Pau ($188)Nice sweet minced mutton with crushed eggs on top with 2 milk buns. Not spicy at all and flavour was really nice. Milk buns very soft and goes really well with the mutton. Portion is really small like a snack so expect to finish with extra order of Naan / Rice / more milk buns(2) Butter Chicken Curry ($288)Chicken tikka in butter curry. Nice flavour on the sweet side and chicken was tender. Goes really well with the Naan bread. Recommended(3) Garlic and Plain Naan ($58 & $78)Straight out from the oven fresh. The garlic butter aroma was really nice but didn’t really hard flavour. Plain was abit plain but for the curry dip, didn’t make a huge difference besides dipping the rest of the minced mutton. Personally recommend the garlic only.Overall recommended all the food above and love to come again to try others on the menu. Only comment is the price is on the higher end and portion ain’t huge. However for the Peak, Blacksheep standard, tasty food and great service, it’s a nice option for impressing your lover, gathering with fam or friends, for nice day chill at the peak. Remember to book if you can or else saw a line when I was heading out.…Read More

Lobster disappointment .
The Yell-Owl Seafood And Grill
2022-02-05
Came here to start the year strong and decided to start my reviews. Motto is to be honest and respect the food. Saw great reviews and heard the fame so decided to try their lobster breakie. Overall the service was great. Very attentive and nice. Environment was comfy but normal. Now to the food. Ordered classic and lobster half size all day breakfast. Good thing is you can add $10 for latte or cappuccino. Both drinks was nice and worth for the looks (see pics). Beans was on the light side so nothing special. I personally would round 2 the cappuccino. For the food, the classic was decent but average and size was normal. Crossiant had defrost taste and was cold. The lobster was the biggest disappointment. Taste with defrost (so obviously frozen) and without any lobster flavour. The egg bennedict was average and not made with proper hollandaise sauce. Size was huge, so can be shared for couples with add on for other options.Honestly, not worth the value and there are better options elsewhere for this price. If you want to try for your own experience, would go for the classic and other options with the $10 add on cappuccino. …Read More
