Umegaoka Sushi No Midori Souhonten (Maritime Square 1)
2019-11-23

I Don’t Care Cart Noodles (Dung Fat Street)
2019-10-04
…Read More

The Cosmopolitan
2018-12-06
…Read More

Golden Hall Dessert
2009-02-08
i ordered 蛋白 my frd had sth that i dun even rmb.it just looks like a mix of "tofu flower" + red beans + icecream + jelly he didn't even say anything abt it.... so i guess it's not good.my 杏仁露.. the taste is not that full bodied. and it's expensive!!! $23 for a very simple dessert.to be honest and just for my own opinion.... i prefer traditional chinese dessert.... dun like those mix and match things. cuz there's too much different tastes in one dessert, u can not exactly enjoy or taste it. and i do believe, the more simple the food is, the harder it is to make it taste good. …Read More

are the shops different?
Wing Lai Yuen Sichuan Noodles
2009-02-02
when me and my mom arrived we were wondering if those 2 restaurants are different. but when i realized they were delivering food from the main shop, then i think it's the same. we looked at what others ordered and we also ordered the "little soup bun". it's ok but i wished it was served a bit hotter.then we also ordered the fried preserved vegie with "lin go"... i like this but it's only my own opinion that i like the "lin go" to be sliced and not in a roll. taste was a bit salty. next we had the honey cooked pork ribs. pls dun try that unless you want to eat caramel popcorn. the whole thing was deep fried and only a very small piece of FAT meat, not just meat but FAT! was inside. waste of $$famous for it's "dam dam" noodles.... i think cuz we sat in the other shop so the food served is not that hot anymore due to the time it has to be delivered to us from the main shop. even we ordered spicy it's only very little spicy. i guess the problem is they have to make lots of noodles in a short time so you can't expect anything. lastly, i wanna mention abt the dessert. i had "fan zhu tong shui" (yam boiled sugar water) and my mom had almond "lo"... my yam soup was great! i love the ginger aroma and taste. it's a perfect match. served HOT! which i love. my mom's almond "lo" was not very thick but she said she can tastes it's grained. not instant one. overall... average la....... maybe i'll try other dishes next time. but the price is really reasonable.…Read More

HK Epicurus I got confused the 1st time I went there too, but in reality there is a subtle difference between 詠藜園楊家菜 and 詠藜園. The former has more traditional Chinese dishes, especially the main courses. Its meant to be more high end stuff although it also serves the food like Dam Dam noodle from 詠藜園. If you go to the 2nd shop, the menu is a lot more simplified and the seatings there aren't anywhere near as comfortable! They somehow cook certain dishes in each kitchen - agree that my last bowl of Dam Dam noodle was very lukewarm - my guest from Japan wasn't very happy at all with the experience :(

the renovation looks grand but dun expect.....
Osama Tony
2009-01-18
dun expect too much.... actually the 小籠飽is not bad. at least it got the juice in it but it's missing the taste of the meat. we ordered the shrimp with egg fried rice and black mushroom with bak choi.the fried rice was disappointing cuz it's almost tasteless.... and it doesn't look attractive to eat.the other dish was average. it's a simple dish so it couldn't be any worse. but too oily and used too my starch to make the sauce.one thing i am disappointed about is the tea. we asked for "water god/shui sin" and i believe they gave us the wrong tea. we asked them to change for us and came back with sth else but still not "shui sin"... anyways... it's an average restaurant. but maybe some other food are better than what we ordered.…Read More

small shop but with nice food
Han Sung Korean Cuisine
2009-01-18
went here to have dinner on a friday night. we had to wait outside for awhile but only around 5 minutes. the shop is small but i like how they serve you warm water. the lady serving us was very frdly. she's korean and only speak very little cantonese. however we can still communicate.we ordered the 1.fried glass noodles, 2.pork kimchi fried rice and 3.the green bean cake.1. Actually i was a little disappointed in this dish cuz it didn't have much taste. But at least it was full of vegetables which i like. ($50)2. I quite like this cuz of the rice. it's so round and soft. it could be more spicy. i had to ask for chilli sauce. ($50)3. this is probably the best out of the 3 dishes. i like the stuffing inside. It's not very oily and not dry. ($50)Just one thing.. i think the prices are a bit expensive. if the green bean cake can be a bit cheaper, cuz it's the same prices as main dishes. i think it'll attract more customers.…Read More

if they want to make a restaurant that feels like you are actually dining in japan, cant just count the renovation. Sometimes i feel annoyed by the japanese words the waiters mumble when we walk into a japanese restaurant. But this at least shows they are trying to give the customers a feeling of eating in japan. In this restaurant, the service was... can say excellent but it's just missing the "home" feeling. If they could shout those japanese words when customers enter the restaurant, it might feel even better esp. when the restaurant is renovated in a japanese style. Let's talk about the food. My mom and I ordered 1."chicken kidney" - 2." chicken soft bone" - 3."pork roll with asparagus" - 4." bbq grilled rice".1. the chicken kidney was quite dry but the taste is still acceptable2. not very special. ordinary chicken soft bone. 3. if the pork is not that overcooked... and less fat... it would be much better.4. is it possible to use japanese rice and also flatten it pls. Overall, it needs some improvements. Usually, in japan, when we go to the "bbq" shops, they will serve you fresh cabbage with their home made vinegar to go with it. And as the food are ready to serve, they'll just put it on ur salad dish. But, they didn't even serve anything similar. Only had tea and something i like is the "wo kuo gee" they offered as a dessert when we asked for the bill. I hope to see improvements in the near fture. …Read More

erm..... when we arrived at the restaurant there weren't many ppl. But the longer we sat, more tables were filled up. 1. Raw shrimps2. Spicy minced meat with fried rice3. Fried choi sum with ginger sauce4. Deep fried shrimp cake5. Phat Thai (thai style fried noodles)We ordered a dish of raw shrimps... i will always order that when i go to a thai food restaurant. Cuz i love to eat the spicy sauce that goes with the shrimp. If they didn't pour all the sauce on the shrimps but put it in a side dish, it would be better. The thing they missed out in this dish was the fresh garlic. Usually we eat the raw shrimp with garlic and "fu gwa". The minced meat fried rice was just average. Need to put some "fish sauce" to bring out the taste. Nothing much special.Choi sum... quite oily and the ginger taste is just from the minced ginger. Shrimp cake, i quite like it cuz it's not the flat one. It's like a mini donut shape.Phat Thai... should be one of my favorite fried dish but it was out of my expectation. It's not the flat noodle i though it would be. It should be fried with vegetables and a kind of meat. But what we got on the table it was just mixed fried noodles. OMGThe atmosphere was nice and i like the live band. They must be very tired and i admire and respect them. Good job!…Read More

the red bean soup is not too sweet, i like it. but the red beans are all boil till "lan".... i like to hv some beans to chew on. haha.... but the "tong yuen" is great. i believe it's home-made. just have to add $4 for 3 "lub" ton yuen. hehe.my frd had "fu chok tong shui"..... she said she always order this cuz it's taste is perfect for her which is not too sweet. traditional "tong shui" shouldnt be too sweet, (my opinion... haha)…Read More
