Colourful & modern dim sum presentation
Lung Dim Sum (Zhongda Building)
2024-11-30
With 3 outlets in HK, @lungdimsum stands out for their colourful and innovative dim sum, popular among the young adults and tourists. Even on a weekday morning, they are fully crowded by 9am.Siu mai platter was their signature dish, consisting of 6 different flavours from Singapore, China, Japan, Spain, Germany and India. Each have their own distinct flavours: spicy, flavourful and juicy. Dim sum combo was something similar to platter, comes with a piece each of their recommended dim sum. Every piece was prepared exquisitely, with their dumplings juicy and thin in texture.Sponge cake with pork floss was a new creation dish, soft and fluffy, served warm. Osmanthus jelly was sweet and smooth in texture.…Read More

High quality teppanyaki
Akita Teppanyaki, Sashimi
2024-11-27
To celebrate my birthday, my wife suggested to go to @akita.hamayaki. It was a teppanyaki restaurant that serves fresh hamayaki. We still have positive experience of it while we were still in HK.They have 2 pricing for their dinner set and we chose Akita, priced at  HKD888 per person, consisted of 12 dishes. To start off, seasonal salad and steamed egg with fish roes and foie gras were served while the chef was preparing our ingredients. They were appetizing, with the savoury of fish roe and foie gras balancing the sweetness of steamed egg. Lobster and abalone were served live and grilled on the spot, with lobster very fresh and flavourful, served on grill toast. Abalone was creamy and chewy, with fishball texture. Grilled clams was chewy, served with seaweed making it crunchy. Seared goose livers was fat in portion, oily and crispy im texture. Kagoshima wagyu slices-cut beef & thick-cut beef steak was very tender and juicy, with deep fried garlic placed in between of sliced cut beef to enhance the taste.By now, we were already quite full. Akita signature fried rice and stir-fried farm vegetables were flavourful and crunchy. Lobster soup was cooked using the live lobster head served previously, making it sweet and clear. Desserts served were dorayaki and ice cream, with dorayaki prepared on the spot. Japanese draught beer was best to pair with teppanyaki. This meal was one of the highlights of our trip back.…Read More

Pojangmacha concept Korean-owned restaurant
Bingo & Cook (京都廣場)
2024-11-26
Food ate:-   Soy Marinated Crab (HKD380)-   Soy Garlic Chicken with Sodduck (HKD140)-   Yukhoe Naengmyeon (HKD158)-   Mango Milkis (HKD58)-   Peach Milkis (HKD58)@bingo_and_cook is a Korean restaurant with Seoul metro and old-school Korean theme concept. Once the elevator opens its doors on 2/F, the vibrant and colourful ambience with pojangmacha décor make us feel excited. Signature soy marinated crab was one of the best I have tried recently, with crab paste rarely seen in restaurant but available here. Comes in 2 fat portions, the meat was soaked in soy sauce, making it flavourful and juicy, soft and sweet in taste. It was best to pair with seaweed rice, a perfect combination. Fried chicken was marinated with soy garlic, making them crispy and juicy with rice cakes and hotdog skewers placed at the side. We have eaten Korean cold noodles several times but not raw beef cold noodles. Beef broth was served icy cold and noodles was really chewy, with sliced beef tender and juicy. @bingo_and_cook was definitely one of the best and IG-worthy Korean restaurants.  …Read More

My colleague asked me out for dinner tonight and suggested a restaurant that serves fresh seafood. NaBe Naruto was located at Witty Commercial Building, few minutes walk from Mongkok MTR.Their decor was unlike any typical Japanese buffet restaurant, with their interior exquisite and seating arrangements wide and spacious. They offered 3 pricing for their buffet, depending on the types of meat we chose. Meatballs, vegetables, drinks, ice cream and seafood were located at a corner for us to take ourselves, which were free flow. The highlight of their buffet were seafood and ice cream. Seafood such as prawn, crabs, abalone and clams were fresh in the water tank for us to scoop ourselves. Major ice cream brands such as Movenpick, Haagen Dazs and Dreyers were available too.   Lychee flavour sparkling drink was gassy and refreshing, sweet in taste, with strong lychee taste. Mantis prawns, tiger prawns, clams and abalones were really huge in size, for buffet standard.
