Expensive , too much packaging!
Chef Nic's Cookies
2020-02-23
Bought these cookies for a gift and also bought one for our family. However, while the butter cookies taste nice, they are expensive for what you get. I'm glad that I bought them at Christmas fair for a special price because I will not buy them again. Also, there is so much unnecessary packaging! Cookies come in a metal container, but then inside are about 8 foil packages of 2 tiny cookies each...on a little plastic tray. As a celebrity, don't you think it is an opportunity for you to set an example and to be conscientious and thoughtful about everything you do? …Read More

Yummy!
C+ Burger
2019-01-28
The burgers here are juicy and at a good price!  The bacon cheeseburger came with 2 good slices of bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato on a floury bap.  Cost:  $57.  The classic beef burger comes with cheese and is priced at a reasonable $42.  We did order cheesy fries which cost $24 but was VERY small and was not quite what I expected them to be ( fries with melted Cheddar cheese on top which hardened when it cooled).  So maybe don't order the cheesy fries if you want runny cheese. We were going to order through online dining platform but with the minimum order of $250, there was no way we would even make the minimum so we went down to buy.  Oh, if you buy through online dining platform , the food costs more!  So either go there to order to take away or eat it there.  There is no indoor seating; you sit at the counter outside of the tiny kitchen.  In case you don't want to get that juiciness all over your hands, you can help yourself to some plastic gloves.…Read More

Decent
Little Hanoi
2019-01-19
Went to Little Hanoi for early dinner and was able to be seated right away. The restaurant was tidy, clean, and not too cramped. Warm and friendly staff. Ordered beef pho, deep fried spring rolls, soft shelled crab fresh roll, garlic butter chicken wings, and some kale with belachan. Chicken wings came out hot and fresh. A little greasy but pretty meaty wings. Not too garlicky. The deep fried spring rolls was also piping hot and came with mint leaves and lettuce for wrapping. These were lovely. I was disappointed with the pho. It came in a big bowl but there was only a lot of noodles and not much else. Not much meat or herbs. The broth is on the sweet side and not to my taste. However, it didn't seem too salty or full of msg as I didn't feel the need to drink a ton of water afterwards, so that is a good thing. The soft shelled crab fresh roll was big and tasted decent. The best was the kale with belachan sauce. Baby kale sauteed just right with a bit of salty, spicy minced pork. Nice sized portion for sharing. All in all, a good experience and for the price, we will go again. Cost for our meal came to about $120/person.…Read More

Overpriced, small Poke bowl
The Poké Co
2018-01-14
I was excited to see that another Poke place had opened in HK and came to take away a late lunch.  Didn't care for any of the "Gourmet Bowls", so decided to go with a traditional Poke Bowl for $98 which was supposed to contain a base, 150 g of protein, and dressing.  I went with the quinoa+leafy green base which cost an extra $15, tuna, and citrus miso dressing.  The bowl was VERY SMALL.  There was not enough of the base to warrant the extra $15, there were maybe 12 small cubes of tuna (I don't even believe that there was a 100g) and the citrus miso was a big glob on top.  For $113, I expected the bowl to be at least two-thirds full, but it barely was a third of the container.  Very disappointed at how expensive it was for the amount that I received and will NOT be going back.…Read More

Decent Thai Food in Central
Tuk Tuk Thai
2017-06-05
We came on a Friday evening and since we came before 7:30 pm, there were plenty of seats. For 3 of us, we ordered (a lot of food): prawn cakes, grilled pork neck, green chicken curry, stir fried morning glory, stir fried minced beef (not the larb moo in the salad section), fried catfish salad( yum pla duk foo), and 3 drinks. Stand out dishes were the grilled pork neck, fried minced beef and the fried catfish "fluff" salad. All the other dishes were pretty standard and the green curry was a little small. The catfish salad was absolutely delish and well worth the price! It was presented on the fish itself and if you are Asian, you would appreciate being able to dig at all the edges of the fish to eat it all up. ;-). There was plenty of the green mango salad and it was the perfect amount of sweet, sour, and spicy. You need to know that it is a CASH ONLY restaurant and there was no air conditioning when we were there. I read a review from 2 years ago that the air conditioner was not working then either, so no idea if it is a reoccurring situation or not. Would definitely come back!…Read More

Daifukuya Ramen Restaurant
2013-12-30
The restaurant is clean and tidy.  I was given water upon sitting down.  Would have loved some green Japanese tea since it was chilly outside.  I ordered the Daifukuya Rich Broth original ramen noodle that included the braised pork belly, and seasoned soft boiled egg.  The condiments tray was minimal and included vinegar, chili pepper, chili oil, and chopped onions.  No garlic or pickles. When my bowl of noodles arrived, it looked alright.  The noodles were a thicker yellow ramen and cooked until just tender.  There were 3 slices of pork, one whole egg, and bamboo stalks.  The broth looked thick and full of flavor...except that it wasn't.  Very disappointing.  There are better places to go for the same price.…Read More

Fatty Crab Hong Kong
2013-11-24
Had heard mixed reviews about the Fatty Crab, so had set some lower expectations.  They do not take reservations and they do not seat you until your whole party has arrived.  First seating is around 7:30ish pm.   We went for drinks first while waiting for everyone to arrive.  When we got seated, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes.  He gave us a recommended amount of dishes to order for the number of people in our party and he was spot on!We ordered:  Daily oysters (3 of each of the daily selection):  oysters arrived with 3 kinds of dipping sauce.  Hardly used them because we didn't want to cover up the fresh taste of the oysters themselves.  Liked the French oysters better.Skinnys:  Fatty sliders, pork ribs, and chicken wings.  These were fantastic!  Sliders were juicy and the pork ribs were yummy.  The chicken wings were moist and sauce was finger licking good.Fattys:  We didn't order the chili crab, had heard from many friends that it was small and not like chili crab from Singapore or Malaysia.  I mean we live in Asia, right?  For $500 we can definitely get a very big crab someplace else done better.  So, instead we ordered the Fatty Duck, Watermelon pickle with crispy pork, and green curry market veg.  The Fatty duck was fantastic, so flavorful and meaty.  i loved the watermelon pickle, I wished they were a little more generous with it!  It went surprisingly well with the pork belly.  The green curry vegetable was nothing special. On top of this, we ordered wok fried kang kong (a water spinach) which was extremely spicy.all in all, the service was attentive and the food was delicious, although very pricey for the size of the dishes.  Don't expect to be able to stay at your table all night, either.  We were politely given our bill when we didn't ask for it so that the next party could be seated at 9.…Read More

Tenchi-Nini Chili crab in hk (dry, spicy and peppery) is wayyyyy more delicious than the Singapore version (soupy, mild and sweet). You should try 橋底辣蟹!
