小編:在此澄清我是自費吃飯。而且是路過入內,並沒預先安排。謝謝。看到很多貌似專業的食評在評論裡,心裡有點忐忑。結果太開心了,超級好吃的粗麵沾麵。湯給我的感覺是淡淡的但又莫名的有深度。(周月對比下比較鹹和濃烈)。沒有吃出蒜味但之後下午嘴裡是有蒜頭味道的(要開會的請注意)。粗麵質地非常好,彈牙。夠吃所以沒有問是否真的能免費加麵。叉燒應該是一塊雞肉一塊燒香了的豬腩。湯裡也有小塊的豬肉和軟骨。豬肉是上等的,肥肉入口即化。唯一美中不足是加湯不夠熱。但同時想讚,加湯後廚師又很細心的加了蔥花。過了幾天還在回味。要回去試試湯麵。…Read More

A very poor facsimile of an afternoon teaAfter weeks of anticipation, I am sorry to report that afternoon tea at The Drawing Room of the St. Regis was a disappointment. Hotel The hotel and restaurant are beautiful The brand perfume piped throughout the hotel is dilutive to the dining experience Tea Tea came in huge pots with a teabag inside. No loose leaf tea, no strainer. There is no choice but to let the tea steep to death until it's poured out. There are plenty of high quality teabags on the market. BUT not here. The tea quality was terrible. They tasted variously: Ashen. Peaty. Artificial. Or just plain weak. (We tried Darjeeling, Puer, Jasmine, and Moroccan mint). Sidebar: The tea is branded as Plantation by Teakha. But that can't be right. Visited Teakha plenty of times, the quality has always been consistently high. Have they stored it badly and let it all rot? Savoury and sweets Al the cakes and savoury snacks looked beautiful in the trolleys. Wheeling them up for selection was a lovely touch. Quality ranged from ok to poor. The lobster avocado in a tin was nice. Everything else was too dry, too hard, or too bland. Scones The baked scones were warm and delicious, crumbly texture was just right. The clotted cream was in a sorry state. A tiny (half tablespoon) portion, dry and crumbly in texture (not dense and creamy), with very weak dairy flavour. The whole point of scones is loading it with clotted cream, so... this is a fail. Service was ok, not great. We had to ask for everything, from water for tea, to moving onto the next course after finishing the previous. In a nutshell:Looks lovely. Taste, not so much. Really NOT OK at $468 for one and $788 for two. Walked past and saw that this relaxing little bistro newly opened above our favourite pho place, decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised by fresh and high quality ingredients, thoughtful and delicately designed fusion dishes, and knowledgeable service from the two owners running front of house themselves. Every dish was steaming hot and fresh out of the kitchen (hot and crunchy chicken karaage with honey mustard was the first dish out and really hit the spot). Salt is restrained and allowed the ingredients and flavour combinations to truly shine. Standout flavours and textures: * Wasabi mayo for fries had the perfect balance of creamy and pungent* Balsamic vinegar “caviar” pearls and Parmesan foam were excellent foil for the ham and melon* Clams in sake - small and very fresh, wanted to drink all the soup* Red snapper - perfectly fried with crispy skin. Every other element (pepper coulis, roasted cherry tomato, mushrooms, broccolini) were also just right* I did not have high hopes for the uni pasta, and was proven wrong. The whole uni piece was large and generous, not to mention fresh and sweet. Better than what I’ve recently ordered plane-fresh from a specialist vendor. For a small operation where it’s impossible to plan how many orders will come in for this highly perishable item, this was truly amazing to me. So much heart. * Carbonara ramen with a lovely Wagyu blanket is a stroke of genius. Bouncy ramen coated in cheesy sauce. Really appreciate that the bacon chunks were high quality, not just random chewy stuff. The touch of grated turnip and edible flowers were a nice nod of Japanese detail. The chocolate milkshake was more slushie than creamy, topped with an Oreo, half a chocolate chip cookie, and a triangle of toblerone. Too full for dessert, will come back for it next time. …Read More

Seriously dislike the fact that Basehall is using disposable containers for dine-in. If you’re going to charge high prices for high-minded food, then at least provide proper bowls and plates which don’t create more waste. Even if it’s recyclable waste. Also mixed feelings about losing Grappa’s grand beautiful performance stage. Food itself is decent if pricey, and environment is comfortable and super clean. Tip: order and pay online beforehand on their website.
