Casual vegetarian lunch
Vegmind
2025-04-27
We went there before going to hike and were happy to try some light lunch options. The fake chicken satay was a very pleasant surprise, with a good texture and flavor. The fake fish on the other hand was a deception since it was a yummy pumpkin croquette but in no way could it pass for fish so we would have liked it better had it been marketed as a simple pumpkin croquette. The salad was very fresh and nicely seasoned.…Read More

Nice local desserts shop
Tsui Yuen Dessert (North Point Road)
2025-04-27
Went for a late morning snack with friends. It was the only desserts shop open before lunchtime and we enjoyed the classic taste of their dishes. The double steam milk pudding was rich, the taro sago coconut milk very refreshing and the Tong Yuen yummy with a lightly ginger spiced soup.…Read More

Pay for the hype, disappointing food
Interval (The LOHAS康城)
2021-05-13
I went there around 12nn, curious to see if the eggs Benedict on their menu would be good (as I had disappointments in the past with that dish in other restaurants) and hoping to enjoy their sunny terrasse.Things started off bad when I learned said terrasse was only for take away orders with no dine-in service. So I sat inside, looking at that beautifully empty terrasse. I tried to order through their gimmicky qr code but my order wouldn't go through so I had to call in a waiter to ask for help. He apologized profusely while explaining that their “all day” menu was not available until 1pm so I could only order from their lunch set. He nicely offered to take my order himself (I appreciated as I was considering walking out at that point). I ordered the carbonara pasta with the daily soup. Starter was a green salad, nicely plated and properly seasoned but really just green leaves with 3 slices of radish and half a cherry tomatoe. In retrospect, the butternut soup was the highlight of my meal. It was rich and tasteful, with hints of pinenuts and crunchy bits, very well made. Then came the “carbonara”. The pasta itself was well cooked, al-dente, but what a sorry excuse for a carbonara it is! The dish is really just spaghetti with a poached egg and a few super small bits of overcooked parma ham (or at least I guess that's what it is, either that or overcooked bacon, honestly the size of the bits make it impossible to tell for sure). It's not a bad dish, the poached egg does a great sauce, but that's definitely not a carbonara dish.I finished with a black coffee that was ok.Overall very disappointed in this restaurant but compliments to the staff, very professional and helpful.…Read More

Good noodles in take away
Mom's Dry Noodles (Harbour North Phase 2)
2021-04-27
Took dumplings (chives and cabbage) and noodles (wagyu and dandan) with some coworkers for lunch, as take away. Everything was tasty and portions are actually quite generous (couldn't eat even half of a box of dumplings after my noodles, kept them for dinner). Will definitely go back.…Read More

Nice meal
Bistro East
2021-04-25
Went there on a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was full but we got a table quickly and service was efficient. We had a full breakfast and a lunch set (shrimp and chorizo risotto). Everything was good though my husband found the risotto a little too salty. Overall a nice experience with generous plates and reasonably priced. …Read More

Delicious meal
King's Delicacy (The LOHAS)
2020-11-15
We went to try their Peking duck on a Saturday night (4 ppl). It was very crowded and we had to wait about 45mn to get a table but after the meal we all agreed it was worth the wait. We had the duck 3 ways. The wonton soup was exceptional, the duck rack extremely flavorful and the main dish did not disappoint in any way. One of our friend who is from northern China but has been in HK for over a decade decided it was the best Peking duck she ever had in HK! The pricing is really reasonable too and the terrasse seems nice and quiet if you can get a table there. The service was very efficient and polite. My only bad comment would be that they are not very upfront about charging for tea and service, hence we were a little surprised when the meal that was advertised at 598 became over 750 on our bill. Still a very reasonable price but we would have preferred to know about those extra costs from the beginning.…Read More

Arashiyama Japanese Restaurant

We went there a Friday evening. The place was almost full. We had rice sashimi bowls and some maki. Everything was good, the sashimi fresh and the rice nicely seasoned with vinegar. The decor is average but clean and the staff efficient. The price was also reasonable, we paid ~220 per head.…Read More

Very disappointed
GOCHISO

I went there for lunch with a co-worker. The few positive points were the decoration (very nice design and atmosphere) and the space (didn't have to fight for a table during lunch break). Now, on to the negative aspects: the salad included in the lunch set was just out of the fridge and quite tasteless. The truffle mushroom pasta I took were soaking in water, probably from unfreezing the mushrooms, and again extremely blend. The waitress took one of our orders wrongly and finally the deep-fried chicken was straight horrible, with the chicken meat still half raw (bloody pink on one side). Definitely won't come back!…Read More

Great lunch set
BEANS The Backyard (PopCorn 2)
2018-04-05
The lunch set includes a main course and a drink + an optional salad or fries at a small additional cost. The dishes we tried were very good and the quantity perfect for a regular lunch. We also added some desserts and those were delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, casual and soothing with greenery around. The lunch prices are really reasonable too (~70 for a set).…Read More

Very nice lunch on a sunny rooftop
Cielo
2018-04-05
The lunch offer is a real catch. We felt the price was very reasonable (we went on a Sunday), for a really nice salad buffet, a delicious soup, a generous main course -I couldn't finish my soft shell crab and creamy garlic pasta no matter how yummy it was-, a dessert, coffee and a glass of prosecco wine! The place itself is lovely with a sunny rooftop. Will definitely come back.…Read More

Great coffee place!
John Choy Cafe. 2015

Went there by accident the first time (really craved cold coffee on a summer hot day), came back ever since for their great coffee selection and friendly staff. Perfect for a good beverage to go or for chilling on their tiny outdoor seats. 30+ coffee blends and affordable <3…Read More

The desserts saved it all
The Place
2016-12-31
Had the lunch buffet for 2. The general food quality ranges from average (oysters, crab legs, roast beef, paella, sushis...) to poor (sorry excuse for a cheese plater, undercooked sweet potatoes, dry rice...) BUT the turkey was fantastic (moist and tender) and the dessert buffet really great (apple crumble, opera cake, chocolate eclair and ice cream).Overall a deception compared to some other buffets in HK but the price is reasonable if you apply the 20% discount from openrice.…Read More
