Fulum Palace

I came for dim sum on a Saturday with the family (3 adults and 3 kids). This place is family friendly and has a large capacity so did not have to wait long for a table. The menu is fairly substantial and has a nice variety.Service is quick and polite. The food is not terrible but to be honest none of the dishes really stand out. Decent portion sizes on the most part.I would probably go here again but realistically the main reason would be the location and convenience of finding a place suitable to go to with so many kids.…Read More

Located at one of the bridges between Mira 1 & 2 on level 2. This is a small open seating stall selling coffee, tea, and cake. The service is friendly and the staff have crib sheets to explain the flavours and ingredients for each cake. You can sit down to eat/ drink or take-away (boxes provided). Coffees are between HKD 30-40, cakes are similar. Their pastry cakes are beautifully crafted, I ordered a vanilla cheesecake which unfortunately looked better than it tasted (average and very slightly stale). I also tried a fried chestnut cupcake; once again the presentation was very good but the taste was lacking. I found the cake itself very dense, which when combined with the sweet icing made the cupcake too heavy.Overall I think these cakes look amazing but taste does not match up to this.…Read More

廟街香辣蟹

Bing located at the end of the Temple Street Night Market gives this place a good supply of customers and can make it look like a popular and tempting offer. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Tables are located in their two stalls on either side of the street as well as seating extending into the street itself but even with indoor seats I would class this more as “open air”. This gives it a more “local feel” experience of Hong Kong dinning and the restaurant is certainly busy with both local and tourist customers. Staff are very welcoming, with menus prepared and ready to pounce on anyone showing the slightest interest (perhaps the first warning sign). Hygiene does not score very highly for this restaurant but for this style of casual dining I would argue it can be considered normal (especially in Hong Kong). The restaurant specialises in seafood. We orders 3 dishes for 2 people (mantis shrimp, fried rice and bitter melon with beef). The shrimp was fairly tasty but did not seem fresh by my standards. The fried rice was frankly bland, was dripping in oil and worst of all the chicken was not cooked! Little to say about the third dish, fairly standard but very little meat. The 3 dishes came to HK$290.Overall I would not recommend this restaurant. Ingredients are not fresh, not cooked properly, too much oil and bland. …Read More

Delicious! Highly recommended
Nan Tei
2016-12-30
This is a small restaurant that seats approximately 20 to 25 people and has a sort of dark chic décor. However the toilets are only accessible via an outdoor private courtyard, which is well kept and clean. I attended with a large group booking (about 15 to 20 people) and we were easily accommodated for our evening meal. I have been to other Nan Tei branches before (mostly Sogo) and must say I have always been impressed. This branch did not disappoint, as usual the service was excellent; the ingredients were of superb quality and the food was delicious! The dishes usually come with only a few (perhaps 2 or 3) skewers per serving, but arguably this is ideal to share between 2 people (or more) and thus sample a large variety from their menu. In particular I would recommend their beef dishes, lamb chops and chicken wings. One caveat on this occasion was that the alcohol menu was not yet available for this newer branch but hopefully this will change with the New Year and additionally this may not be an issue for many people. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant (as well as the other Nan Tei branches)!…Read More
