I wanted to test out my friend's recommendation of Davia, a cosy Italian restaurant in Wanchai. It turns out to be a very satisfactory food experience. The restaurant is located just next to a tram station on Johnston Road overlooking the busy bustling Wanchai with the "Ding Ding" tram chime lingering in the air from time to time. The restaurant was quite full by the time we arrived around 7:30pm and an Italian waiter seated us in the bar area with a neon sign "Aperitivo", and we were later transferred to the big table when it became available. There were two wine dispensers with temperature control in the bar being set at the exact desired temperatures of white and red wines. I was quite impressed with this little detail. We ordered mixed Italian antipasto plate, minestrone soup, orcchitto ( not sure about the spelling) pasta with sausage, slow cooked beef cheek, pannacotta and tiramisu. Before we left, I bought a big plate of Italian antipasto for takeaway for my husband who came home late from work. All tasted so good! I will be back soon! The music was a bit out of tune though.
