We last saw Okura san in another CWB based restaurant, after he (seemed to have) put his TST restaurant behind him. It is great to find out that we could taste his sushi here at Akanoshou (which avails Teppanyaki too). The decor is thoughtful, having partitions at the Sushi counter offering privacy and added hygiene . We had the the Special Omakase, which includes Oyster, a Sashimi course as well as six assorted sushi’s and udon and desert. The sushi’s of Hirame, Shima Aji, Chutoro etc were fresh and expertly seasoned . We left happy .…Read More

You come here because- you don’t know the other choices in Hk- you have not tried getting dim sums on carts- you need to be in central- you are quite okay to have dim sums ordinary in both taste and quality. The que is daunting But, you can get around that by getting an advanced ticket on Gulu App. Assume that each 100 tickets ahead of you take about 1 hours . For lunch we had : - Steamed Radish cake (the best) - Minced fish ball - Beef ball - Glutinous rice wrapped in leaves - Salted egg yolk flavored Fish Skin - Char Siew buns - Fried Wontons with sweet sour sauce (avoid) etc I still feel indigested in the stomach though, it’s now evening time .…Read More

If I pay between hkd1800 and 2600 per head, I expect- to find a clearly itemised menu on your website. & to find a printed menu on the night of dinner. or else I’ll consider it a lack of courtesy .- waiting in proper chairs while the rest of my party arrives. Instead of standing behind the Ramen eaters of the sister restaurant . - to have more than 90 minutes to finish a dinner .- to get better beef, and to have better taste. If I had spent the same $ buying Wagyu beef, I do not need to be a good cook and the meal would already be amazing . In WagyuMafia’s cases a couple of the items tasted good but not some others. The place is about the cooks’ theatrics, if that is all you want .- to pls do away with the YumCha item. And the Sukiyaki item. They are not good .- the restaurant to avail your hard working cooks with frequent hand washing. They have to go through a lot of equipment, foods, props with barehands throughout the night. Hubby and I had tummy aches afterwards, let’s hope it was not due to the dinner .…Read More

you are expecting le Bleu services at a Japanese omakase restaurant... sounds strange to me...
Hokkaido soup curry is a very tasty dish but hard to find in Hong Kong. Therefore I was very excited when a Japanese couple were brave to set up Asiri, despite the high rent.Guests will appreciate an interior that’s very clean with a woodsy finish . The prices are very affordable .Did not manage to take a good food foto. I can say it is truly authentic, be it the flavourful soup curry that will leave you wanting more to the tasty potato salad. It is a must try. Note that Saturday is their day off.…Read More

A couple of girl friends hosted lunch at hong kong's tallest building .The Ritz Carlton is a tower of luxury and one cannot be unimpressed with the interior . Cafe 103 comes with the same spectacular views that accompany each of the Ritz Carlton's dining establishments . I personally do not like too much glare so Cafe 103 is quite perfect in that a portion of it is not directly next to the windows .The weekday lunch buffet presents a decent spread. Honestly the views present more wow factor than the food but not too much was expected from a weekday buffet in the first place . Cold dishes include Crab Legs , Mussels , Shrimps, various salads & fresh greens . Sweet Shrimp & Tuna are available as sashimi . The ham & salami & smoked salmon offerings are also not bad . The hot dishes are not many for example there is only one choice of carbohydrate - E Mien noodles . The taste of the hot dishes is a bit forgettable .The dessert spread is perhaps the highlight of this buffet .Enjoyment of the surroundings & the setting would be a big part of enjoying this establishment .…Read More

Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui are great Japan food enclaves outside Japan. We were happy to have tried Sushi Ta-ke on Hoi Ping Road . The interior is authentically Japanese , elegant & quiet . We normally choose the sushi counter in order to admire the sushi chef at work and this round we were definitely not disappointed .Husband went for a sushi set , but the chef made no compromise on quality & delivered pieces of extremely fresh fish. I enjoyed an Omakase - hopefully the photos are doing justice .Would have taken more photos , if not for husband's complaint that I spent more time on the phone than with him 😝Sushi Ta-Ke even reminded me of Tokyo's Jiro.…Read More

Came for dinner on Friday night. The restaurant is situated in the newly refurbished "Toy House" building . As the new TST Apple Store occupies the retail space on the ground floor, the restaurants upstairs can look forward to decent traffic.Zenpachi is a delight , atypical for Hong Kong, the interior is very spacious therefore allowing a lot of privacy. Equally good for quiet & relaxing times or business discussions. Patrons can choose from roomy Tatami setting or private booths . All our appetisers were tasty: Soft Shell Crab, Tempura, and Sesame Chicken Wings. My daughter is not a Shabu Shabu fan therefore she had an Inaniwa Udon, which had a nicely tangy texture. We ordered 2 types of broths, Japan flavour & the simply excellent KimChi flavour. All the ingredients for the Shabu Shabu were really fresh & of top quality . I enjoyed especially the Wagyu beef. 2 Adults & 2 youngsters spent $1800 which makes it slightly pricey given the locale. At the same time, however, Zenpachi delivers on its space, food & taste.…Read More
