A Little Cow
Zi
2025-10-06
I visited this small restaurant on a Sunday. I went there at 16:30. It was my first time there. The menu on the outside gave the impression that the restaurant was fairly expensive. A pasta/risotto was around 150. So I think it's fair to say that this was not a cheap place. I mean, for lunch, $120 would be considered as somewhat expensive. But still reasonable. But $150 would be a bit too much. Anyway, I decided to give it a try. I walked into the restaurant. There were not many customers (not a surprise given the slightly exorbitant price!) Five customers apart from me. Four staff were hovering around. I found a seat. The atmosphere was nice. It was quiet and it was relaxing. The staff were not rude. Perhaps the most outstanding thing about this restaurant is that there is a small wooden animal toy on each table. I found a painted cow figure on my table (see the attached picture).  It's cute. On the next table there was a little bird. Since the restaurant was a vegetarian one, the place felt peaceful. Indeed upon reflection one realises that there seems to be a connection between eating meat and violence. Perhaps eating meat is participating in violence against animals such as cows and pigs. So in this sense having a vegetarian meal is to practise peace. I did feel a sense of peace when I was there. I ordered a mushroom pasta. The appearance of the dish was astonishingly good. The taste was okay. It couldn't be bad given the high price! Taste was okay; the decor of the restaurant was superb. I kind of felt like there was this feminine energy (i.e. warm and soft vibe) in the restaurant. Overall I think the place is really a nice place for enjoying a much-needed rest for Hongkongers who work too hard.…Read More

Got there at 12:15. First time visiting this small restaurant. It's alright. Not particularly tasty. Not bad either. Sort of in the middle. Nothing very surprising. Sort of what you would expect for a lunch pricing around $100-120. I ordered fried chicken and something called tofu rice. It's not really rice. But tofu chopped into small pieces. Tofu chopped into the size of rice. Sort of. Because I arrived early, there were not many people. I like it quiet. Customers are mostly polite folks. That's good. No rude loud-taking people around. That's good. I had a hot ginger tea. It's alright. Good. …Read More

A Luxurious Small Shop
Patisserie Millefeuille

I went there on Saturday afternoon. Just randomly walked into this small dessert shop located in the Soho area. Bars surround this dessert shop. It's my first time visiting this shop. There are four tables inside. Each table is for 2 persons at maximum.  An old lady was sitting in one of the tables. The old lady looked elegant and poised. I ordered a New York Cheesecake and a glass of juice. The quality of food and drink is superb. Tiny delicate cakes. The cake costs around 80 dollars while the juice costs around 50. I sat there for about 25 minutes. It didn't take long to consume a small piece of cake, after all. The woman who took my order at the cashier was a very sociable one. She is a Hongkonger who can speak English well. She can also speak Cantonese. Customers are largely polite. For people who have some extra cash to spend, this place is a suitable one. …Read More

A Good Place

I went there for lunch today. Arrived around 12:10. My first time visiting this place. It's pretty nice. There's a big ceiling-to-floor window on one side. Staff were polite. Seats were comfortable. I ordered a cod fillet. Soon a bread basket arrived. A small bread. My apple juice then arrived. A beautiful glass. The environment of the restaurant was comfy. Soft music flowed from the loudspeakers somewhere above. I recognised one of the songs. It's a rap song by a Japanese artist. The vocal part of the song has been tuned down. Perhaps rap songs could be considered too rowdy for a place of fine dining. Anyway the piece of music is "Luv(Sic) Hexalogy" (by Nujabes and Shing02). The music was actually good. A strong vibrant beat. Without the lyrics, the music still felt vibrant and good. The cod fillet I ordered soon arrived. It looked real nice. It tasted good as well. The portion was sort of small. But I think it's okay. There's no need to feel full for every single meal. Customers started to file in after 12:30. Men in suits, followed by well-dressed women. Not everyone was dressed up, obviously. It's a largely casual dining environment. I stayed there until 12:50. The bill was $153. It was a good experience. …Read More

I went there for lunch today. Arrived at 12:10. Moderately spacious. Just a few customers in the restaurant. First time going there. The place has a nice view; the floor-to-ceiling window offers a good panoramic view of Wong Chuk Hang. The restaurant is located on the 15th floor. The commercial building that houses this little restaurant is just another commercial building. So basically you wouldn't discover this place unless you know the address in advance. It's pretty strange to find a restaurant within a commercial building. I had a soup. A normal soup, I guess. And then a main course. Beef stew with rice. Pretty nice. Normal stuff. Sort of what you would expect for a meal that costs around $170-180.  For the first half hour I was there, the place was pretty quiet. Which I like. People started to stream in around 12:40. Polite and well-dressed folks. I had a vanilla tea. It's good. …Read More
