Olea at Novotel Tung Chung. This hotel has a history of almost 20 years and is still kept at its optimal condition. It is clean and spacious and always gives a relaxing vibe. This restaurant used to be a very busy place when it was first open, but not any more. I come here perhaps once or twice every year.Have chosen Olea again to celebrate my friend's birthday due to proximity to his residence. We tried the new set dinner - $488 for two. The menu offers a great variety of dishes. Since there are three of us we have to order some additional dishes as the set dinner is not quite scalable to 3 persons.The portions are reasonablely sized and taste good as usual. Drinks cost extra. Hotel offers 3 hours valet parking for dinner guests which is very handy.Service is friendly and make guest feel comfortable. My friend brought me to this restaurant to celebrate her lunar birthday today. We ordered two set lunches. The restaurant was not super busy so the food arrived within 10 minutes after we placed our orders, which I believe was quite normal. My friend is an shopping mall reward app member and she received an e coupon in her app which entitles her for a free dessert at this restaurant as her birthday month treat. However when the e coupon was presented the Restaurant Manager and the staff all rejected to honour the redemption and asked if we may save the e coupon for next visit. The manager says they are busy at the moment so we could only try to use that e coupon when we visit next time. But in fact I saw the restaurant was really not super busy and there were no lineups outside the restaurant at all. So with disappointment we left. Personally I believe the restaurant has an issue in the way they treat birthday coupons. If the coupons can actually not be applied to dine-in customers they should not have been found on the list of participating merchants for birthday offers redemption in the first place. This store was new since a month ago. It was super crowded since its opening. Have been thinking about trying some of its coffees but was never able to squeezed into its long ling queues.Now that the special offers are over it's relatively quiet now. I finally had a chance to try some. Bought a $25 Batch Brew Nutty to enjoy back in office.Being a batch brew coffee temperature was not extremely hot. It gives a pleasant nutty aroma and was very easy to drink. Acidity is relatively low so it suits well with my personal taste. This brew is smooth, round with a rather mild flavour which I find extremely suitable for a morning treat.Would certainly visit again. …Read More

Have chosen a slice of Red Velvet cake to go. Really rich, chewy, and aromatic lemony icing on layers of ruby-coloured velvety cake. Exactly what I needed and just love the nice boost of sugar. We book a table for 3 and got squeezed into an extremely crowded bar table. This place was not busy at all but our group were simply not allocated to a proper table despite our repeated requests (and the other tables were not taken at all during our entire stay there!). We sat down at 1830 but could feel the "pressure" when it was getting close to 1950 when the managers and waiters started coming to our table frequently to collect our plates in a rather noisy, impatient and impolite manner. It certainly created considerable embarassment to me and my guests. The Prosecco drink was admittably good, but the rest of the food items were only so-so on the overall. I would have actually expected a much more welcoming gesture by the restaurant given the fitting out and the mood of the place. We all just felt a bit ill-treated by the way they talked to us. Just visited the museum nearby this evening and was trying to grab a bite before this restaurant closes at 8pm. We arrived shortly after 7 pm, ordered a few appetiers and a bowl of noodles. It was not a busy evening and there were only four to five parties seated in the restaurant. We waited for 20 minutes and none of the dishes ordered have turned up yet. We politely asked one of the staff to check if our food would be ready soon. The staff went checking but there have been no responses from any of the staff since then. Another 10 minutes went by and we asked again. The manager told us that the food orders were not registered on the system! Despite the mistake, he did not seem to want to resolve the problem right away (perhaps it was getting close to closing time). My friend and I were furious and just left with an empty stomach.
