$28 Lunch
Dim Chung Wong
2015-08-14
This little place in the alley opened recently, only spotted it because of the flower baskets they received on grand opening day. Surprisingly, the open kitchen design is very modern and clean, with a efficient ordering system. The portion of the steam rice is filling, the rice quality is good and the short ribs are lean (not just fat and bone), also they add some veggies to it. Will feel more satisfied if there are more meat. For $28, you will find it fair for the quality of food. Drinks are for purchase, but will take $2 off when you buy a main course. Will go back again for a simple lunch.…Read More

First time in their new location in Wan Chai, large windows, great for watching the busy city goes by. The interior design is like a typical US diner. The portion is big, it came with bread, 2 sides and juice. You need to upgrade your juice, the complementary one is only a sip for most adults. I had a garden omelette, loaded with mushrooms, tomato, gouda cheese...etc, and the flavor is just right. Great value all day breakfast place; always leaving there satisfied and happy :)…Read More

Group Lunch
Stormies
2015-07-21
Came here with a group of friends for lunch. We picked a table outside under the umbrella and right next to the fan.Service was okay, kinda slow with the basic, like bringing out water, cleaning table...etc, but friendly staff. However, the food is amazing and the portion is big. I ordered a medium rare burger and was only able to finish half. The burger was cooked perfectly, loaded with mushrooms, tomatoe, cheese and bacon. The flavor is just right with greens and fries. We also ordered the platter, the size of the shrimp cocktail was descent and very fresh. Salad is not too heavy on sauce, a little bit of pepper it enough to complete the taste.…Read More

Pizza Hut (Port Centre)
2015-07-21
Came here with my bf for a quick lunch over the weekend. We waited for 5 min and service is fast. We ordered their Cheese Bite set meal for 2. Great value for money, with service charge was only $277 it total. The meal came with soups, appetizer, a pasta, regular size pizza and drinks. The overall favor of the dishes are on the sweet side. Pizza Hut in HK uses sweet mayo in the salad and pizza we ordered. The pasta sauce is also has sweetness to it, not very strong tomatoe sour flavor. The Cheese Bite pizza crust is filled with cheeder and mozzarella, you will love it if you are addicted to cheese and will fill you up in no time. This meal is suitable for 3 people in my opinion.…Read More

Good food...but staff don't understand instruction
Ebeneezer's Kebabs & Pizzeria (荷李活道)
2015-07-14
This is my second time eating here, both during non peak hrs. The food by all means is good as fast food, however both times the staff here have trouble understanding instruction. If you are not picky with tailoring your order, the value and taste of the food is definitely one of the better one in LKF. The portion is enough to fill you up and good selection to choose from, salad, rice, wrap... etc. Salad is quite fresh, with lettuce, tomatoes, cumbers and they cook the chicken when you order, so give them 5 mins to make it. Their wraps are loaded with ingredients and I always ask for less sauce. You won't be able to find anything cheaper in LKF.…Read More

Took a client here for a casual lunch. I reserved a table, but still had to wait for 5 mins for a free table. Only set lunch was available, starting at 198 per person. It came with a selected drink, a salad or a soup and the main course. Their homemade ice tea was so refreshing, with 2 cuts of fresh orange in it. I picked their soup of the day, Cream of Mushroom, it has chunky mushroom in it, you definitely see more mushroom than cream. I selected a crab salad as my main course, was a good portion had plenty of meat in it. At $198, there are at least 10+ choices to choose from, including burger, pasta, organic rice and salad. For more money, you can have different items.Really enjoyed the food there, nothing not to like, except the price it a bit high. But after all, is in IFC.…Read More

Good Value for Money
Captain's Japanese Restaurant
2015-06-30
Been to this place a few times already, I think is one of the better all you can eat Japanese restaurant. Good selection of food, from sashimi to the grill and for additional money, you can have unlimited Sake. The sashimi sometime can be a hit or miss, they are usually pretty fresh but once in a while you get some frozen pieces, expecially the Salmon. Really like their skewers, good size and the flavor is just right, I personally like the kidney and mushroom a lot. The sushi size are not big, give you room to eat more. I found the rice dishes protion a bit too big, so take it easy when you order them. The clam is juicy and good size. The manager there is friendly, we wanted to keep the sake cold, he got us an ice bucket to put on the floor. The restaurant is tight in space and not much room on the table, so we were surprised he got us the bucket.…Read More

Great Value High Tea
Maison Eric Kayser
2015-06-30
If you want to enjoy High Tea food but not pay a premium, this is the place to go. You will not get the fancy tiered plates and environment, for the price of a hundred buck, you will get 2 flavours of sandwiches, 5 items of sweet plus a chocolate coated strawberry. My favourite is the lemon tart, it has just the perfect sweetness. Also, the strawberry coated with chocolate freshens up the plate. The sandwiches I had that day was tuna and salmon, not anything out of ordinary. Overall portion is good, I wasn’t able to finish the chocolate macaroon.Finish off with a cup of coffee or tea, I don't think you can find anything at this price range in the area. If no cruise ship parked by the dock, you will get a nice view of the harbour.Great location for an affordable meal with the family. High tea hour starts at 3pm.…Read More

Good Value Set Dinner
The Stonegrill
2015-06-16
A group of 9 strolled around Central for dinner, came across Stonegrill and they had a large table available on a Saturday night. We all ordered their dinner set, it came with salad, soup and a main course with two self selected items, of course there were breads and coffee to go with it. We all had a very satisfying dinner and enjoyed the fun of self cooking over the hot stone. The meats were not marinated, but just salt and pepper is enough to bring out the natural flavor of the meat and seafood. With the bread and soup, it can fill you up half way before the main course is served. Service was standard, no 'wow' factor. The seats are tight, as expected for a small restaurant.…Read More

Not worth the value...
Holy Crab Bar and Restaurant
2015-06-13
Not many restaurants are open on Sunday in LKF, we were craving for seafood, so decided to give Holy Crab a try... Overall experience, not really worth the money. The salad is fresh and was the best out of all the dishes. We also ordered clams, the size were small, flavor was average. I was excited about the lobster plate, but turned out to be the most disappointed dish. For that price, I could get something much better and higher quality in the area. The little lobsters were too much work and not much to eat. The side items are to make the plate looks full, very average. The lobster claws were good, but nothing really stood out.…Read More

Best Lobster Bisque in HK!
Bisque | Lobster & Champagne
2015-06-04
Read about this restaurant in magazine a while back, finally decided to give it a try.We booked ahead of time, when we got there the table was ready. It is a well designed little place, with three u-shaped booths and an ice bucket built-in. Open kitchen and bar sittings. We ordered a few dishes to share. I really enjoyed their home made olives, there is a kind of mini olives that I never seen before, great flavor, it has a different taste to the regular black and green ones. Their raw oysters are really fresh, but only have 2 kinds to choose from plus the baked ones. Their key product is lobster, so we ordered the lobster bisque, which they said is made with100% lobster and you can really taste the lobster flavor and it came with a claw, very filling and rich! I am not a fan of foie gras, but because is pan fried and served with bread and sour apple sauce, the flavor was not too much but refreshing. When I visited, they are still in soft opening, you can tell their staff are still learning the items. However, they are friendly but can still improve the service.Great location in LKF, suitable for bringing clients or a date.…Read More

Big Breakfast
Jaspas Restaurant
2015-05-31
Came here for brunch on a Saturday, the place wasn't full and we got a table right away.I ordered the B.E.S.T breakfast, it was a good size, I wasn't able to finish it. The bacon can be crisper and the Strawberry Banana Smoothie a bit to watery.Service was fair, some staff was more helpful than others, still have room to improve. Overall portion is big, even for non breakfast items which my friend ordered.Happy to come back.:)…Read More

Saturday Birthday Brunch
Zuma Hong Kong
2015-05-29
My friends took me to Zuma for champagne brunch. We made a booking and got there before 2pm, they only let people in when the brunch starts. The food was amazing, lots of choices, fresh and they never let the plate be empty, refilling was better than 5 stars hotel. Really liked their oysters, sushimi and sushi. The dessert platter was a surprise, they knew it was my birthday and put a candle on it for me. The disappointing part was their soup based dishes, was too salty.Great place for a group of friends to hang out on a weekend afternoon.…Read More
