Jiu-Wu Beef Noodle
2018-08-08
The noodles we ate was not what the picture/menu looked like. Soup for the beef noodle soup base has no flavour, the tomato soup noodle had no tomatoes and didn’t taste like anything. 皮蛋豆腐 was very salty and the 豆魚 also had no taste. Do not recommend here …Read More

not worth it at all 👎🏻 the pancake was so bad, they were supposed to be one of the best in HK but it’s one of the worst. It’s hard and not fluffy at all. Not worth the $138, I would rather go to McDonald’s. the sandwich had so much mayonnaise someone might get a heart disease.…Read More

All the money on is?!??
i CREMERiA Café
2016-09-01
I knew this is an expensive place I mean that melon and ice cream for $220?!?! So I expected to spend some dollas. I bought the green tea ice cream and the honeydew melon juice. The green tea ice cream was decent nothing special. But the melon juice was like $60 HK and it was 1/4 foam and it was diluted with water. They also asked me if I wanted to add $20 for a slice of melon and I said no because it wasn't necessary. The girl beside me who ordered the same drink bought the melon slice and it was so puny. Not worth it!!!!…Read More

Mom super likes grass jelly, but finding good grass jelly dessert is pretty hard these days so we found this place and decided to try it out. We got in and ordered:- grass jelly and mango with mango sauce. It came and at first glance my mom and I could tell it looked like it came from a can. The colour and texture was completely different to the good stuff. So we just continued to eat it and as we scooped the mango sauce it was so thick and sour and it was literally like snot. And on top there was milk which was super unusual for this type of dessert. So we asked the waiter why the texture was so thick and she quoted " the sauce is made from fresh mango" huh I think not. She even offered to put more milk...like no. So we got up and payed and left, leaving the desserts unfinished. It may seem like a waste but it was just awful!!…Read More

Not as good as expected
Grand Cafe

We heard some good news about the hainanese chicken so we decided to try it out. When we got there it was a bright afternoon, not super full so we got seated and immediately ordered the hainanese chicken rice. It came with the soup, the chicken and the rice. The rice came and it was super dry and "breaky". The chicken came and it was just...bad. It was oily and just...bad. The soup had too much turnip flavour. And it was just…Read More

Selfie Cafe
2016-08-13
As a selfie taker my self I was shocked and flabbergasted that there was a kiosk for making drinks with our selfies on it. Befor we got there I had looked at the menu snd decided on a selfie iced green tea latte. To be honest I wasnt expecting much because they were new... I mean Its your selfie!? what else do you want!So we got there and because I am chinese and live in Canada I can speak it but not read it. When i arrived with my aunt, she said that the green tea latte in chinese had coffee in it, I I told her that it was probably a mistake as I dont recall green tea lattes with coffee, and that if there was coffee they would write it in English.so I order it and take the selfie and send it via whats App to them. they quickly give me my drink. I take my time with pictures. When i take my first take my sip I was expecting green milk/liquid. As i sipped i tasted a heeping mount of coffee. I quickly alert my aunt as I Hate coffee and to ask them if they gave me the wrong drink. I go up and they tell me "our green tea latte is actually normal coffee infused with fresh brewd tea". I was disappointed at the time as i dont like coffee. And couldn't taste even a hint of green tea. After that I forced myself to drink it all and I was having such a stomach pain after all the coffee. I didn't even care about the selfie anymore super upset . its even worse its not written in english!…Read More

So glad I came here from so far away
KALA Cheese Toast Specialist

From Canada, there aren't a lot of things to try there. So when I saw rainbow grilled cheese all over Instagram. I was shocked and NEEDED to try it. We went all the way to Tseun wan and order a small rainbow grilled cheese. As I watch them make it I am amazed by how cheese can be a different colour and flavour! The red was tomato, blue was lavender and green was basil. At first I thought it would be weird to have lavender grilled cheese with tomato and basil. But the lavender had no taste and mix everything together it taste just like a pizza!Defiantly recommend!!!…Read More

Beans (Hoi Pa Street)
2016-08-12
Tseun Wan is pretty far from where I live so I decided to make the best out of it by going to multiple restaurants. First we went to Kala the grilled cheese stand. Then beans. We went in and asked for a table of two. The hostess told us there were no more seats and to wait. Fine. So I sit for 5 mins and she comes out telling me "go next door they might have seats" I didn't understand what next door meant as she quickly shut the door with no question. By accident I went and thought the door with apartment sellers were the "next door" and they kindly directed me to the "next door beans" as everyone else who went there ware confused. They were so much nicer then Beans own employees! As I go in the other store they tell me go back and wait outside. I finally get a spot. But it's quite odd as there is a HUGE cement wall in between the two stores. Anyways as i sit I remember I need to wash my hands after the oily grilled cheese. So I ask where the washroom is and they tell me to go the another store almost a kilometre away! No can do, I am not walking so I wipe my hands with water and a napkin. I was pretty disappointed as I needed to go pee too. I was most excited to try the rainbow latte and on the menus it said tea lattes. I quickly asked for a rainbow green tea latte then they tell me "green tea lattes don't count only earl grey do" I was quickly pissed as they didn't tell me they only did rainbow are to earl grey lattes. So I decided to settle down with a hot green tea latte and cheesy fries and tomato risotto. I shared the risotto even though the portion was pretty small. The cheesy fries were amazing but looked like it was from Taco Bell. (Not complaining cuz I love Taco Bell) the risotto was OK nothing to special. But the green tea latte was what really pissed me off. Usually it's just milk and green tea powder. Beans made it with actually green tea. It might sound cool and amazing but the taste was definitely not appealing. It tasted super weird and with no milk in it. I was super mad as I love green tea lattes and I have on everywhere I go. SIGH:(…Read More

The ice cream/gelato choices were super cool with original flavours to choose from. They were especially famous for the egg puffs in different flavours with matching ice cream and toppings. I wasn't digging the flavour option for the egg puff ice cream mix so I decided to buy a scoop of ice cream and a separate egg puff in red velvet. I bought a scoop of guava gelato. The egg puffs are what took me by surprise. Not only were they red but they had a dollop of cream cheese inside!! They were delicious the ice cream was like eating a pure guava super duper yummy!!! …Read More

Wanted to try there green tea donut but they were sold out today:(So decided to go with a cookie ice cream sandwich. I wanted a chocolate chip cookie earl grey ice cream sandwich. Turns out they only have one coco chunk cookie so had to choose another one. Decided to go with there Nutella stuffed cookie. ( it is so heavy literally got diabetes) Now there making the ice cream and I run upstairs to the seating area which is pretty small and find a seat. I take my picture taking my time thinking it won't melt. As I take the first bite it's good but won't fit my mouth so I eat it one by one. I eat the chocolate chuck cookie and it's good but already super sugary. Then came the ice cream. It was packed with earl grey flavour but was too soft to be in an ice cream sandwich. It would be better if it was harder! The Nutella stuffed cookie was definitely too sugary like I was going to die. Couldn't finish it cuz too sweet. If you go there I would totally not recommend a double chocolate cookie ice cream match. Another cool thing is the wall on the seating area. It's painted chalkboard and there's a huge box of chalk so good luck finding a spot for your drawing. Most people write where they are from if they came overseas and the date they were there. The vibe is just super cool! …Read More

SUPER DELISH PHO!
Bun Cha Vietnamese (金豪大廈)
2016-08-11
The food here was so amazing! Though it was hard to find at first we managed to work out and climb the steep hill to find this little place! At first it was covered behind a restaurant named Organic 21 but look farther and you'll find it! It's mint green so you won't miss it.We ordered:-spring rolls-Beef pho-chicken phoThe spring roll was AMAZING! Filled with the delicious filling in an original spring roll. And it was totally not oily and greasy!!Next was (drum roll please) the PHO!!!The meat was red at first and right after my picture I put it in the soup it became instant good-ness. As I was eating the delicious noddles and slurping the soup that was full of flavour I realised there was some beef left. I expected it to be chewy after the long soak but turns out it was just as soft and melty in the mouth. The chicken Pho was also Very delicious as they made it with chicken broth and lots of bits of chicken. My only complaint is the ginger flavour was overdone and would like less ginger as I mistakenly ate all the ginger as I thought it was chicken, oops. But this place is amazing! Defiantly need to go there a second time! …Read More
