Pacific Coffee: Christy Chung
PACIFIC COFFEE (Manhattan Hill)
2014-09-27
Pacific Coffee is popular and I like to go there and drink a cup of coffee when I have spare time. However, sometimes I need to try my luck because it can be busy so I need to wait for a while. This café is easy to spot with a classical tone of colour and a big title on the top of Pacific Coffee.Every time I go to this café, I have to order a cup of coffee and a piece of cheese cake or pie. This time, I ate a piece of Oreo cheese cake and drank a cup of matcha. The texture of the Oreo cheese cake was quite thick but it was delicious.Later, I found that the hygiene in Pacific Coffee was really awful and the waiter didn’t clean the rubbish on the table. It was really disgusting. I felt a little disappointed. In conclusion, I think this café is worth a try. There was some background music in the café but it’s quiet too. Therefore, it’s suitable for students. I think the food seemed reasonably priced and tasty. However, if you want a more substantial meal, I would go somewhere else.…Read More

Saizeriya Italian Restaurant: Peter Ho
Saizeriya Italian Restaurant
2014-09-27
Saizeriya is a popular Italian restaurant. I wanted to try it because my friend told me that the food is delicious. I went to Salierya, which is located at Tsuen Wan, on Tuesday. However, there were many people queuing. Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait for a long time. When I looked at the menu, I felt really surprised that the food was so cheap! Nowadays, many Western restaurants in Hong Kong serve food which is quite expensive, but Saizeriya is suitable for people who don’t earn much money.First, I tried a ‘Prawn Salad’. This dishes was really fresh in taste because the vegetables were frozen in the fridge for no more than one week and it tasted quite sweet. The prawns tasted like they had just been taken from the ocean. After that, I ordered my main course, ‘Triple Chicken Noodles’. It looked very nice because the chicken was in a ball shape was fried to a golden colour. It was creative and attractive. The chicken wings and chicken legs were crispy. When I poured the black pepper sauce over, it looked fantastic! Because I was so hungry, I finished the dishes within 15 minutes! Also, you can spend just $12 dollars to for a refillable soft drink! When it is summer you can drink the soft drinks freely, who doesn’t feel happy? This price is very reasonable.I think Saizeriya is a good choice when you don’t bring too much money. However you should come as early as possible or you’ll have to wait for a long time! This place seemed perfect if you want a cheap, substantial meal but if you want something more romantic I would go somewhere else.…Read More

HK18: Ivan Wong
HK 18 Restaurant
2014-09-27
HK18 is a restaurant near my home. It’s in the shopping centre called Laguna City. I often go there to eat with my family. The design is quite beautiful and modern. The restaurant is often busy when I want to eat there. When I got into HK18, I saw a big menu. On the menu was written the set dinner for $68. I ordered a set dinner. The set dinner contained 3 things. The first thing was a soup. You could choose a Chinese soup or a western soup as you liked. I tried the Chinese soup. It was a pumpkin soup. It tasted excellent but there wasn’t enough. The main course came next. You could choose one dish out of many. I tried the one called rice with sea food and soup. It was a soup containing rice and seafood. It was very yummy because the seafood is fresh and the tasted good. Finally there was the dessert. It was a bit of a shame that there was only one choice for me and it tasted bad. The dessert was a mango pudding. The size was small and the mango was a bit bitter. However, I think the price was reasonable and the taste is good. The main course of the dinner was really enough for me so I will go there again…Read More

Toast Box: Paco Tang
Toast Box
2014-09-27
Toast Box is a restaurant for eating Malaysian food .For example curry, toast, noodles or chicken rice. This restaurant is located in some popular places in Hong Kong. For example Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay.The food in the restaurant is nice and yummy. Also, the waiters serve the food very fast too. One of my favourite dishes in that restaurant is the chicken rice because I think the chicken is very tasty and the rice is also very delicious else well. However, because this restaurant is kind of a café sometimes when I want to have afternoon tea I need to queue for a while. Some of the restaurants don’t have rice and noodles, they only have toast so if you want to eat rice or noodles I suggest going to another restaurant.I think the price of this restaurant is ok and it’s an amazing place to have some food and have a rest.…Read More

KFC: Tiffany Chan
Kentucky Fried Chicken
2014-09-27
KFC is the world’s biggest chicken restaurant chain and it has been popular for a while. Although there were long queues, I still wanted to eat. The restaurant has an old man for its logo and it’s décor is very red. When I was there , I waited in the long queues. After that, I saw the board where the menu was written along with photos of the food. It looked delicious, but I think it wasn’t reasonably priced. I was dying of hunger, so I couldn’t wait to start my meal.First, I tried the “Mushroom Rice”($14). It is popular and looked appetizing. When I ate the first little spoonful, it was really tasty.Next, I ordered the BBQ Honey Wings($16). The dish was yummy, but sometimes I found that there were some chicken feathers in the chicken wing! The hygiene was awful, this left me a little disappointed.Although it wasn’t reasonably priced and had long queues, I think KFC was worth a try. This place seems good for you if you want a quick meal, but if you are in hurry, I think it wouldn’t be suitable for you , I would go somewhere else.…Read More

Jamie's Italian: Jerry Lai
Jamie's Italian
2014-09-27
Jamie Oliver is a world famous chef. He has opened many restaurants in the world. He has opened one in Hong Kong too. It is named Jamie’s Italian. It is so popular that there are many newspapers talking about it. I was so lucky to have dinner there last week with my parents. The declaration of the restaurant is quite beautiful. It has an open kitchen. People can watch the chefs cooking.Unexpectedly, the food there is reasonably priced. The ingredients are all organic. We could have a healthy dinner and the atmosphere of the restaurant made us feel comfortable. For a starter we tried the 'Minestrone’. It was the dish that the waiter recommended to us. There were many kinds of vegetables in the soup. They were very fresh. The texture was fantastic as well. The vegetables were not too soft or too hard. It was brilliant when we had the soup with bread.Next, we ordered 'Risotto’. It was cooked with squid sauce. The presentation of it was not really attractive. It was just like there was some rice with black sauce. However, the taste was amazing. I even felt hungrier after I’d had it! After that, we had 'Fish Stew’. It composed of salmon and cod with some clams and other seafood. I loved the sauce the most. The combination of the sauce and the seafood excited me. It was so unforgettable. The seafood matched with the sauce so much. It was fresh and tasty too. Finally, we ordered 'Tiramisu’ for desert. It was the best Tiramisu that I’ve ever had. It composed of many levels with different flavours of cake. It wasn’t so creamy nor too sweet or tasteless. The taste was just right. We had an 'Epic Brownie’ too. It was composed of chocolate cake and some salty ice cream. The taste was pretty good with the ice cream together with the cake. However, the cake would be a bit heavy and too sweet if you didn’t eat the cake with the ice cream. In conclusion, Jamie’s Italian deserves a return visit. The prices are reasonable. A lot of food was marvelous. The taste and presentation of the food was excellent. If you want to try it, I suggest you to come earlier. It filled up with people very quickly. There was a long queue outside the restaurant. However, you will definitely enjoy your food in Jamie’s Italian.…Read More

A review of Bistro on the Mile: Vicki Lam
Bistro on the Mile
2014-09-27
Bistro on the Mile is located in Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui. Bistro on the Mile is a restaurant that serves buffet. It provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. The décor is elegant and is well suited to Tsim Sha Tsui. When I was there, I began to take the food dish by dish quickly. I was dying of hungry so that I kept eating there for about 2 hours! There is a variety of cuisine including Chinese, Western, Japanese and desserts, etc. First, I got the soup. The soup was perfect. It was cooked with maw, longan and conch. It was extremely tasty. Then, I took some Sashimi, its texture was just right. I took many. I also took a lot of seafood likes lobsters and shrimps. At last, I took many desserts. They were sweet and delicious. However, I thought that the kind of food it provided is far less than the buffet near the Golden Coast. If I eat buffet with my family next time, I will choose to go to the Golden Coast. If Bistro on the Mile can provide more types of food, it would be perfect. To sum up, I felt satisfied after having dinner in Bistro on the Mile. The waiters were also very hand-wording. The service was fantastic. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends.…Read More

Review of Green River Restaurant: Stephanie Cheung
Green River Restaurant
2014-09-27
Green River Restaurant is in many different locations in Hong Kong nowadays. I was afraid of long queues. Finally, I went to the one near my home in Kowloon bay. There wasn’t a queue there at 6:45p.m.When I was there, I found it difficult to choose a dish since most of them seemed quite reasonable priced and looked very delicious.Firstly, I ordered a fish (around $50). This is a popular dish there and I think it was quite a good choice because it is cheap and yummy. Then, I ordered a pot of Tofu with some seafood. It was brilliant as it isn’t too expensive and it is suitable for families to eat. However, one of the waiters was quite talkative and quite annoying. In addition to this some of the waiters were quite busy as they couldn’t serve us.As the prices are reasonable, I think Green River Restaurant is worth to try if there are no queues. The restaurant felt comfortable and it is quite fantastic. This is a perfect place for family and you can have a quick meal.…Read More

Katiga Japanese Food Shop
2014-09-27
Katiga Japanese Food Shop is a famous Japanese restaurant. I went there to have a dinner with my parents yesterday. The restaurant is difficult to spot because of the poor location.I was dying of hunger, so I ordered from the set menu . When I ate the first dish (sushi ), I thought the quantity was not much and the quality was not good enough. The food was not fresh and its price was unreasonable. The second dish of the set menu was roast beef. The taste was yummy but it was too oily. This dish made me gave me a better image of this restaurant. The last dish was a seafood hotpot. It tasted like the usual ones. This dish was nothing special and it was too expensive. As the price is unreasonable and the food was awful, I think the restaurant was not worth trying. Therefore, I don’t recommend anyone to try it. It left me really disappointed.…Read More
