Great Place for Gathering
Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill (又一城)
2020-03-02
Dan Ryan is no doubt one of the more well known places for American dishes in Hong Kong, I have revisited this restaurant for many time myself but my all time favourite is always the barbecue pork ribs. It’s very juicy and soft, meat fall off the bone easily. The ribs comes with salad and a side of French fries, portion is quite big and great for sharing. It is also served right off the grill so it’s still hot, service is great. We are a relatively large group, and there’re no mess in terms of ordering. Definitely a decent place for gathering in terms of the food choice and atmosphere, they serve everyone’s starter, main and dessert at the same time so you don’t have to wait for other’s food to come. …Read More

Lady M
2020-02-27
I’ve always loved Lady M, especially their Green Tea and Earl Grey Mille Crepes. Thin in layers but also really creamy. I also prefer the tea flavour ones over the signature mille crepes because they are less sweet. The Gateau aux Marrons is okay, nothing special really, it’s much similar to the regular sponge cake. …Read More

Expensive But Worth It
HENRY
2020-02-27
We are so lucky to be able to book a table only 2 day in advance! HENRY is a newly opened steakhouse in Rosewood located at the Victoria Dockside, needless to say, the view is absolutely amazing. The interior design is pretty awesome, very luxurious. Now talking about food, the restaurant offers a range of dry-aged USDA prime steaks, Southern-style barbecue and a number of sides. My favourite is the 44 Farms USD Prime Black Angus Bone-In Ribeye, medium rare. It is superb. HENRY also offers a total of 5 steak sauces, including a Bloody Mary ketchup and a homemaker BBQ sauce but the one that won my heart was the creamy smokey blue béarnaise. The mac and cheese with lobster is really good as well, rich is flavour and texture, though I must admit that the portion is pretty big for a side. We wrap it up with a chocolate fondant with pretzel milk ice cream, it is extremely chocolatey and creamy. All in all, this dining experience has been delightful, very satisfying. The service is on point. 10/10 would recommend and return. …Read More

Happy Valentine’s Day
Wagyu Vanne
2020-02-16
What can I say? I’m impressed by everything, the atmosphere, the service, the food. I’m AMAZED. For starters, the Wagyu tartare with botanebi and carviar is SO good and it’s probably one of my favourite dish of the entire course. We also had like a Wagyu appetiser assortment, the jelly is a bit too much for me, but the tenderloin tempura is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, loved it. Then we had various part of the A5 Wagyu as main course, everything lives up to expectations (and probably beyond expectations), they grill everything for you so you didn’t really have to DIY and most likely end up burning it. The Wagyu in Sukiyaki style with truffle shavings is absolutely amazing, they really do shave the truffle right in front of you, you then mix a ball of rice with the sauce and a Japanese egg yolk, dip it with your slice of Wagyu and that’s probably one of the best bite in the world. I choose the Wagyu ice cream as my dessert, needless to say, it’s extremely creamy. 10/10 would recommend but remember to book in advance! This restaurant is popular!…Read More

Restaurant With No Menu
La Vache!
2020-02-14
The only thing they serve here is steak with unlimited French fries, bread and salad as appetisers and a piece of cake as dessert. At around $350 per person, I think the quality of food is exceptional. The steak is tender and soft, fresh off the grill, French fries are hot and also tasted freshly fried. They even have a candle beneath the plate to keep the steak and the sauce hot. Great service as well. The only complaint I have is that the restaurant is quite hard to find, other than that everything is perfect.…Read More

Fluffiest Pancake from Japan
A Happy Pancake (K11 Musea)
2020-02-13
A happy pancake indeed. Probably the fluffiest pancake I’ve ever had in my life, would definitely recommend the original one. Not too sweet even with the chocolate sauce and banana but the sauce kinda made it soggy after a short while. If you wanna visit the restaurant, make sure you do it on a weekend because the queue is quite long on the weekend.…Read More

The Legendary Chicken Rice
Chatterbox Café (K11 Musea)
2020-02-11
Now is the legendary chicken rice from the Mandarin Orchard Hotel in Singapore legendary? The answer is YES! The Hainanese Chicken Rice is on point, the rice is not greasy at all, chicken is smooth and tender, soup is good, what more can I say? I’m lucky to be there on a day where the queue is short, definitely worth a visit. Price point seems to be fairly reasonable given the quality of food.…Read More

Noodle Bar from Shanghai
Jin Ya Ju Noodle Bar (Peak Galleria)
2020-02-11
Finally there’s a decent and affordable restaurant at the Peak! Jin Ya Ju Noodle Bar originates from Shanghai, but its dishes come with a twist to fit a more “international” taste. We ordered a few snacks, a black truffle noodle and a pine crab with truffle pumpkin chicken noodle soup. Those cherry tomatoes are addictive, they are soaked in a plum sauce and taste sweet and slightly sour. Needless to say, the pumpkin soup is quite thick but just liquidy enough to go with the noodles, rich flavours as well. On the other hand, the black truffle noodle is too salty for my liking, bit spicy but the sauce on the side is amazing.…Read More

Pan-friedBunCraving Satisfied
Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan-fried Buns (Lyndhurst Terrace)
2019-11-25
I’ve always been a huge fan of Shanghai food, especially their pan-fried bun and XiaoLongBao. After returning from Shanghai few months ago, I’ve been searching for the best place for pan-fried buns for a while. Little did I know that there’s a michelin star Cheung Hing Kee located just 20 mins from where I live and I swear to God, they really do have THE BEST pan-fried buns in town. Each and every single one of them came out hot and juicy. I had to be extremely careful to not burn my tongue with the broth inside the bun. The bottom of the buns were also crispy. The only thing I didn’t like was that there’re no seating so you gotta stand the whole time, but other than that, everything was Perfect. 100/100 would recommend and re-visit someday. …Read More

Afternoon Coffee Break
LGB Cafe
2019-11-25
Dying for some coffee after a long day, but instead of going to Starbucks, I wanna try something new. LGB coffee was one of the few alternatives at IFC serving specialty coffee. Overall, taste was okay, nothing special really, the only perks of coming here was that there’s no queue. Guess it would be a good choice for one of those morning where you have to rush everything.…Read More

Lunchtime in WanChai
1963 木十豆寸
2019-11-23
It’s always so difficult to find a good place for lunch in WanChai during weekdays, luckily we booked a table in advance at this cute Taiwanese restaurant. They went for a retro-style interior design which was kinda nice. In terms of food choices, the range isn’t particularly wide. I ordered a lunch set where braised pork on rice is paired with a traditional Taiwanese stewed food platter. It’s worth the price, taste was great, huge fan of their braised pork on rice. Loved the stewed soy sauce egg and chicken wing as well, they’re not too salty nor oily, definitely a good choice for healthy eater.…Read More

Love for Full EnglishBreakfast
BRICK LANE (利園六期)
2019-11-10
Full English Breakfast used to be a Sunday tradition in my old school back in the UK and I think Brick Lane did a pretty good replication of it. Can you believe they even have yorkshire pudding? I mean rarely any restaurants have it in Hong Kong, or at least this is the first I’ve seen it in such a long while. There’re also sausage, cheese, salad, toast, baked beans and the perfect sunny side up eggs. Oh and don’t forget the classic English breakfast tea, it’s the perfect match to a proper English breakfast. Portions are quite big. On the other hand, the egg benedict was also very impressive, perfectly poached eggs with Hollandaise sause. Yum!…Read More

The Dish in Memory
Duck & Waffle
2019-11-10
Last but not least! The famous Duck & Waffle opened its very first branch in Hong Kong! It reminds me of the time when I was studying in the UK. Anyhow, the restaurant is EXTREMELY popular so please be reminded to book a table at least a week ahead. Also look ahead for what you wanna eat online, there’re so many dishes that look so good. Highly recommend the beef tartare and corn ribs, the tartare is fresh and the corn ribs came right off the stove. Personally I didn’t really like the beef donut but I think my friends did enjoy it. The star of the day is the Duck & Waffle, tasted just like ones in London, the duck leg was crispy without being too dry and the sweetness of the waffle and the sauce just balanced out the saltiness of the duck leg. Great dinner all in all.…Read More

My Favourite Place for Gathering
OZONE
2019-11-10
When being asked where is THE place to go for drinks in Hong Kong, I always reply - OZONE. The highest bar in Hong Kong (and possibly Asia) is located on the rooftop of Ritz Carlton. The view is absolutely amazing, especially in the night time. Drink variety is great, they also have their own specialty cocktails but this time since I’m taking all my friends, we decided to open up a bottle of Rosé and order a few snacks. The food is great, loved the truffle fries and prawn toast, I’d say they are my favourite. Everything come in nice and hot and crispy. Service was great as well. 100/100 would recommend.…Read More

超香芝士牛奶鍋🧀
8Pots HK (Jaffe Road)
2019-09-17
