Excellent dining experience at Seasons
Seasons Restaurant & Bar
2023-11-05
I had Seasons Restaurant and Bar twice today. I dined in for lunch, and I bought takeaway for dinner for my family. I had a lamb kebab lunch set. It was only $88 including lamb kebab duh, salad, soup, papadum, and tea. They don't charge service charge either. The soup was slightly spicy,  the lamb kebab is fresh and of generous portion so it can definitely satisfy your appetite. I really enjoyed it because the proportion of meat to vege is optimal. Sometimes I have kebab which has too much vege or too much meat so it can be either too bland or too meaty. But Season's kebab was optimal. The staff are very friendly and kind too. I bought lamb masala, lamb biryani, chicken momos, pork sekuwa and cheese naan for takeaway for dinner. I didn't try the lamb masala but my parents loved it. Lamb biryani was again very good, especially the texture of the lamb is tender enough. Chicken momos are good but not extraordinary. But I love that they were steamed so it feels healthier! Pork sekuwa and cheese naan were a perfect combo! I would definitely order them again. The pork sekuwa was slightly on the salty side, but it goes so well with naan or rice! They're freshly grilled, and the meat was soft. Cheese naan is what you'd expect from cheese naan. But because it goes so well with the pork sekuwa they really do complement each other. I definitely would visit Seasons restaurant and bar again. And kudos to the friendly boss and staff!…Read More

Excellent meal with family and friends
Y Pasta
2023-08-07
It was my mum's birthday so I booked this restaurant a week in advance. p.s. book on Openrice for discount! There were 4 of us so we ordered 4 meals (actually 5 meals, but 1 was for takeaway). We ordered 2 lambchops, 1 squid ink spaghetti and 1 prawn capellini. I loved the lambchop because they cooked it to precisely medium, so the meat was soft and juicy, not too cooked but not too raw. The prawn capellini was amazing too. The squid ink spaghetti was good but I should've ordered capellini instead because I prefer the thinner texture. What's good about the pasta in this restaurant is that you can choose fettucine or spaghetti or capellini or other options of pasta. So you can customise for yourself. As it was my mum's birthday so of course we had to order desserts. We had a tiramisu and a chocolate lava cake. The tiramisu was great, very authentic Italian. I loved the runny cheese and the strong coffee/liqueur flavour. Chocolate lava cake was amazing too of course. The runny hot molten chocolate lava from inside the cake matched perfectly with vanilla ice cream. The waiters also very kindly wrote Happy Birthday on the plate with chocolate sauce! We would have loved to try the banana pancake too but we were too full already. I would most definitely visit Y Pasta again with my family and friends. …Read More

Tasty and Affordable lunch
Man Man Canteen
2023-08-07
This is my third time having lunch here at Man man Canteen. Even though many restaurants in Central during lunch hour are full of people queuing outside, I never actually had to queue for long at Man man Canteen because there are a lot of seats inside the restaurant. The meals are served very quickly too. So if you see a queue outside Man man Canteen, don't be deterred because it does not take very long before you can be seated. This time I ordered a set meal of ox tongue rice with poached egg. The ox tongue were thinly sliced but the amount was adequate as there were several slices, and of course the poached egg was great when you mix it with rice. The rice was also topped with some seaweed and sesame which of course tasted great when I mixed them. The meal included a soup and a drink too. In total including service charge my lunch was $73, which is actually very affordable considering the location of this restaurant. If your budget is tight, there are some meals which cost even lower; but if you want to go for a big meal, there are different options of steaks too. They will cost a little bit more but in my opinion still a very worthy price. I would definitely come here again and I highly recommend it here. p.s. I love their cheese rice cakes but I didn't order it this time because I was too full!…Read More

抵食好味越南菜
New Paris Vietnam Restaurant

AMAZING South American cuisine
AL SUR
2023-06-16
Walked past this restaurant 2 weeks ago and saw "TRES LECHES" on their menu and it instantly caught my attention, so I went to Al Sur to have lunch last week and had dinner here with my family again tonight. We ordered 3 starters, including choripan, salmon anticucho, and chicken arepas. Choripan was great. I love the chorizo inside the bun with the sauce. Salmon anticucho was delicious too. The salmon meat was juicy and soft. I loved the chicken arepas because the corn taste in the bread reminds me of my favourite tacos. For main, we ordered costillas, Argentinian rib eye and pollo al espiedo. The portions are bigger than I expected. The costillas and grilled chicken are good. My favourite is the Argentinian rib eye though. We ordered medium rare for the rib eye so the meat was quite raw and very soft, which I like the texture. Finally the (my) highlight of the dinner was the desserts. The chocolate cake was SO GOOD and SO BIG. I love dark chocolate and I love how it's not overly sweet. TRES LECHES was amazing (the reason why this restaurant caught my eye in the first place). There's some ice cream on top of the cake, which the cake is soaked in 3 different kinds of milk. It's very difficult to find tres leches cake in Hong Kong so I'm so glad to have discovered Al Sur, especially when their tres leches is only $60. Even my father, who is generally picky with food, enjoyed our dinner at Al Sur. We had 4 people, ordered 4 starters, 3 mains, 3 drinks, and 2 desserts and it costs only around $1300. Their lunch sets are even more affordable, 2 courses only cost $108 and 3 courses at $148. I will definitely come again for their food. …Read More
