Really quite terrible. Ramsay should be ashamed
London House Gordon Ramsay
2016-01-22
It's always smart to take the name of a famous chef and its association with a restuarant with a pinch of salt. The food here is incredibly average and left all of us very much disappointed.  The FoodWe were a party of four so we ordered four different dishes from the menu. We went with English Breakfast, Beef Burger and Chips, Fish and Chips and Shepherd's pie. The English Breakfast was a Hong Kong high of around 248 dollars plus a drink. I'm not sure why the London House set their dish at at least 80 dollars more than the next English Breakfast but I was keen to found out. How would they reinvent something which basically is about the ingredients and just requires hearty portions? Well they just placed it on a fine looking board and made it look fancy. The food was not of high quality, the toast was too hard, tomatoes too soggy, the eggs were not seasoned, the beans sauceless, bacon burnt. Pretty much every component of this dish did not taste good. The Beef Burger and Chips followed the theme of average. The burger was rather tasteless and did not have much beef taste. The chips were ok.The Fish and Chips and the Shepherd's pie were the better dishes but still at a pricey HKD198.  I was told the fish was quite good and although the pie looked small it was very filling. The Environment/AmbienceLooks like a UK pub but a little classier. TST East is always good for a drink and sharing platters. The ServiceNothing wrong with the service. Nothing exceptional. The VerdictDo not waste your money. I get the idea of bringing London to Hong Kong but why are you bringing the Central London prices as well? HK$248 for an English Breakfast? Crazy. The prices are unreasonable and just for the looks, the content is nothing special and I cannot bring myself to say it was even tasty.  Avoid. …Read More

TerryFloyd Entirely agree. Went there with friends from out of town. Less than average food. Chips were straight out of a McCain frozen food bag, and same for fish. Will never go there again, and if someone asks for views on it ... What a shame. His Bread Street Kitchen place in LKF is a whole different (better) experience.

Unforgettable....
CHickEN Storm

Unforgettable.....is a word I do not use lightly but it was truly unforgettable because of the terrible service which really was the lasting aftertaste from this restaurant. Riding the wave of interest in all things Korean and fried chicken this place just gets a lot of the basics wrong. The Environment/AmbienceAs with a lot of Korean restaurants there isn't a major fuss to make the restaurant look all fancy especially with it being a chicken place. Tables are set quite close together, lots of scribbles/messages on the wall which looks a bit tacky and messy.  The FoodTried the Korean Sauce chicken which supposedly came with rice cake and fries. This came out as just four 2cm cuts of rice cake randomly put over the chicken. When we asked the server why invisible fries were served she advised they had run out of fries so this has been replaced by the generous serving of rice cake.  This was lie as there should be both rice cake and fries.Anyway the chicken was relatively good. Other Korean restaurants sometimes serve the chicken and sauce separately so if you're like me you always feel the chicken is a bit dry. But to Chicken Storm's credit the chicken is covered in the sauce and remains crispy. The side dishes are kimchi, nuts and a salad. Not unlimited refill though. The soju was very good though very strong at 20%. The ServiceWhat service? Is it that hard to employ polite and courteous servers? Seems like it is with this place. The VerdictGo on a groupbuy but do not go without the massive discount because everything else of the menu is overpriced and not worth it. …Read More
