今個暑假,萬麗海景酒店 推出了夏日Twining's 下午茶。所以今天我和友人就去品嚐這個系列。聽說她訂座子的時候,也蠻難訂,所以要到月底我們才能夠品嚐到.For this Summer, Renaissance Hong Kong introduced the "Twining's Summer Tea Set". It took her awhile, until we finally managed to book the tea set reservation, which was the end of the month / promotion :(除了平常的Twining's 茶,他們還特意調配了三種mocktail - 1) lady grey 2)luscious lemon 與 3)Mexican jasmine.For the tea set, despite the normal Twining's Tea., Renaissance especially mixed 3 mocktails - 1) Lady Grey, 2) Luscious Lemon and 3) Mexican Jasmine.我還友人就各叫了一杯,她就選了lady grey, 我就選了luscious lemon.Lucious lemon - 我喝了一口。啊!很酸啊 ( ̄▽ ̄) 因為茶包是用了檸檬加薑,再配以檸檬汁、橙汁、百香果糖漿 加ginger ale. 檸檬味很濃,但甜度略嫌不夠。My friend and I each ordered one, which I chose the Luscious Lemon.Oh My!! The mocktail was so sourrrrrr ( ̄▽ ̄) The tea was blended with lemon and ginger, mixed with lemon juice, orange juice, passionfruit syrup, and ginger ale. The flavor of the lemon was so strong that it basically covered other flavor in the drink. Wasn't able to finish it at all :(反而這一杯的lady grey,加以蘋果汁和百香果糖漿,味道偏甜,女生別定喜歡。 想找一杯穩陣的mocktail,非lady grey莫屬。However, for the Lady Grey, it's so much better. Lady Grey is a fairly typical mocktail; with apple juice and passionfruit syrup. You can't really go wrong with Lady Grey.之後就是我們的主角:tea setTea set 分三層,三文治,蛋糕同英式鬆餅。And finally, the main character *Drum Rolls* - Tea Set.The tea set is categorize into 3 tiers: sandwich, cake and scone.最底的那一層是三文治類, 包括:on the bottom tier, the sandwich category includes:火腿雞蛋沙拉麥包三文治 egg salad sandwich on wheat bread- 火腿切成小小一塊, 融入雞蛋沙拉漿,再配以新鮮的麥包, 味道還不賴。The ham are diced and mixed in the egg salad (mustard sauce) on a wheat bread - not bad not bad.蜜桃烤雞卷 peach with grilled chicken wrap- 比起平常的烤雞卷, 這個蠻特別, 應該是因為加了蜜桃進去, 所以更能帶起烤雞的味道。A very different kind of wrap, as it has a fruity taste to it. It added the peach with the grilled chicken, which actually enhanced the chicken flavor.吞拿魚香橙多士 Tuna with orange toast-這個和蜜桃烤雞卷的口感有一點相近,也是用了水果去帶出肉類的味道。吞拿魚配了香橙, 甜甜酸酸的,再配上多士, 又有一種脆脆的口感, 蠻特別的。Very similar with the wrap, it added the fruity flavor to the meat. When you munch on it, there's this crispness from the toast, sweet and sourness from the orange mixed with the tuna, a recommended toast which I would love to give it another try.之後, 我們便吃最頂的那一層, 分別有:Then, we are heading to the top tier.- 無花果英式鬆餅 Fig Scone為配合這一次的水果主題,連平時最普通的英式鬆餅,也加入了無花果。可惜果味略嫌不足,而且鬆餅不夠鬆軟。To coincide with the fruity theme of the set, Renaissance added fig into the scone to add fruitiness to the taste of it. Since there isn't that many fig, and the Scone itself isn't that great, so didn't quite like it.- 青檸啫喱慕斯杯 Mousse with Lime Jelly in a cup這一款得一起放進口裡,才能體驗到那酸酸的青檸配以甜甜的慕斯的感覺。那個夏日的情感溶入口中,蠻美味!It's highly recommended you scoop a spoonful of both the mousse and jelly, then you'll be able to experience the sourness from the jelly and the sweetness from the mousse, all in one bite.. Very refreshing!最後就是蛋糕層,分別有:And for the cake tier, there's:- 芒果拿破崙千層酥 Mango Napoleon每一層酥也很脆, 再配以新鮮的芒果, 很好吃喔!Very tasty and the layers were nicely done and crispy, with the fresh mango. Yummy!- 菠蘿椰子蛋糕 Pineapple Coconut Cake椰子慕斯再配了鬆軟的海綿蛋糕, 加上菠蘿作裝飾,沒有平常奶油蛋糕這麼膩, 蠻清新的。It used coconut mousse to substitute cream, and it actually turned out pretty good. Coconut mousse with the sponge cake, and the tasty pineapple on the top. A fairly refreshing cake.雜錦莓子撻 Mixed Berries Fruit Tart- 也許是因為撻放久了,水果是很新鮮, 可是撻皮已經變淋了 (-_-""") 要不然, 我們覺得這個果撻也會是蠻好吃的。(-_-""")So sad... The tart might have been left out a bit too long, so it go all mushy. Or else, the taste of the tart should be pretty good.櫻桃馬卡龍 Cherry Macaron-因為我們對櫻桃沒有很喜歡, 所以吃了一口, 就沒有再吃。 但是口感不過不失。My friend and I aren't a big fan of Cherry, so we just had a bite, but the texture isn't bad at all. If it was a different flavor, i would of loved it.兩人 2 pax $258 + 10%可惜,供應期至 2013 年 8 月 30 日。期待下一次的下午茶喔。。。Sadly, the last day of the promotion is Aug 30, 2013.We truly look forward to their next promotion :)…Read More

因為屋企有車直接去到香港仔,所以平時去同係海洋公園走都係去香港仔中心係香港仔中心再搭的士-大概$30Since we have direct bus to Aberdeen centre. Our family prefers to bus to Aberdeen center and take the cab to ocean park (instead of going to admiralty to take the special ocean park bus)今日係海洋公園玩完都唔例外,一行四人就去到泰一食泰國野。After our one day trip at ocean park, we decided to head back out to Aberdeen center for dinner.其實我哋係海洋公園搭的士黎到泰一門口,見裝潢都幾得意,830都仲要等位,應該都唔難食^_^Outside of Thai One was where our cab driver dropped us off. It was already 830pm and there's still a line outside for dinner, we assumed it shouldn't be too bad.一望入去就見到一隻超大既長頸鹿,連埋側邊既樹,有啲似迷你版rainforest cafe.We peeked inside the restaurant, there's this gianormous giraffe figure. It looks just like the rainforest cafe (less dim, and less animals, of course)等左10分鐘,到我地啦。We waited for a good 10 minutes, and it's our turn to be seated.食泰國野,一定要食我最鐘意既炭燒豬頸肉,呢個份量都適中,肉質都幾嫩,味道都幾好。細佬同我KO左佢。We ordered my favourite dish - grilled pork jowl. The pork was pretty tender and the portion was just right. My Bro and I finished in seconds.燒菠蘿,熱熱的 超酸的吖_( ̄▽ ̄)我地仲叫左燒魷魚,但我細佬都未等我影相,就擺左入口,佢話幾好食,但好似80蚊,幾啖就消失左。肉赤!Apparently Thai One was also known for its grilled selection. So we ordered grilled pineapple but it was super sourrrr.And we ordered grilled squid, but my bro snatched it before i could even take a pic of it. But he told me it was delicious - at a price of $80, speechless ... Cause I only got a glimpse of how it looked.仲有呢一碟 鐵板蠔仔煎蛋啲蠔唔係得一兩粒,讚!但鐵板上油左少少。不過都唔錯。順帶一提,佢好似係店長推介。We also got the fried egg with oyster - which was served on those sizzling hot iron plate. And apparently this was also one of its recommended dish.One thing good about it was, they werent stingy on the oysters, weren't those with only one or two pieces - thumbs up for that. Despite the dish got pretty greasy as it was served from those sizzling plate, this was pretty decent dish.炒通菜,無咩特別,純粹為食菜而叫菜。不過下次黎應該會叫小油。略嫌油左少少。Pan fried Tung choi - nothing spectacular. But if I were to get it again, we will definitely request for less oil.婆婆好鐘意食羊,就叫左咖哩羊膝。佢話羊肉都炆得幾好,都淋身,唔錯。我就因為怕羶,就淨係食蒜蓉包點咖哩汁。個咖哩汁真係幾好食,所以我地就另外嗌多一籃蒜莞包,用黎點汁。好味^_^My grandma is a huge fan of lamb, so we got this curry lamb. She said the lamb was pretty tender with a good flavor of curry to it - not bad. And for me, I loved the curry sauce, so we ordered an extra garlic bread on the side to dip the curry sauce. It was soo good.最後我地就食左呢一個芒果炒飯,無咩特別,無咩驚喜。And lastly we had this mango fried rice, nothing surprising nothing special. Just a good source of carb.今次四個人,埋單就500幾,每人大概百幾蚊度。Our bill was about $500 something, approx one hundred something each. Wasn't bad :)…Read More

今日過左去海怡搵個friend,就去左海怡個商場既85°c 買早餐。Today I went to south horizon to find a friend and passed by 85°c to pick up breakfast.85°c又係喺台灣打響左名堂之後,再進軍香港發展。暫時係香港太子同南區海怡半島商場有分店。85°c is originated from Taiwan and started to expand its network to the Hong Kong market. There's two franchises in Hong Kong, which is in South horizon. Aberdeen and prince Edward, Kowloon.一開始開既85°c,成日都好多人。依家就唔使再排長龍。When it just open in south horizon, there's always a huge line out the door. But for now, just a small line up at the cashier, ain't too bad.入到舖,啲售貨員好有禮貌^_^ 張台灣既服務帶埋黎香港,好好。定時定候,會有廚師嗌「新鮮既麵包出爐啦。」 平時既麵包舖邊會咁。大讚!Inside the store, each staff is very well trained. 85c brought their professionalism and manners from Taiwan to Hong Kong. And from time to time, the bakery chef will yell out "fresh bun out from the oven". And people do gather to see what is fresh.我終於揀左個超大好另類既包,叫做煉奶菠蘿。佢個樣有啲似平時既菠蘿包,但上面層皮比較黏身,原來用左煉奶做。Finally, I selected this giantic Butter Milk Crispy Bread. For the top layer of the bun, it looks similar as the Hong Kong style pineapple bun, but they have added butter milk into it.之後我地切開左個包,大家分少少試試。當就咁食包,唔連上層菠蘿皮,無乜特別。但當一啖連埋菠蘿皮同麪包一齊食,混合左煉奶既菠蘿皮,配埋鬆軟既麪包,依個配搭都幾好味。菠蘿皮又唔會太甜,一啖一齊食,好食!And we then split the bun into slices, so we each can have a bite. If you have the bun without the top layer, it taste like normal plain bread. So you got to ensure the bite includes the butter milk layer and the bun, it blends very well. 今日放lunch 經過 渣甸街, 見到係尖咀成日要排隊既hungry Korean 係銅鑼灣開左分店。是日約左好友係銅記食晚飯。我地有著落。(話說回來,我未試過尖咀間hungry Korean, 所以比較唔度)Today during lunch time, I passed by Jardine Street, and saw this grand opened restaurant- hungry Korean. Every time I passed by the one in Tsim Sha Tsui, there's always a huge line. Since its new, my friend and I have found ourselves a place for dinner tonight.Side note, I have never tried the one in TST, so I can't really compare which store is better.晚上8點,我地到左「Hungry Korean」。今日唔使排隊等位,凈係需要排隊買野食。等左一個就輪到我地-快!At night, approximately 8pm. We arrived to the store. There's no line for the seats, just one person in line for ordering.謚完野食,收銀姐姐就同我地講要坐邊,原來佢地劃左位。結果就要排排坐。It's very systematic in the restaurant, upon purchasing the food, they have assigned seats for each consumers, so don't expect it's like typical food court, where you can just pick and choose your seats.Chicken Gim Bap $32  在這晚餐中,我們覺得最好吃的。 韓國雞壽司。 裡面有泡菜、雞、雞蛋和菜。 味道正常,還有價格也蠻合理。 其實午餐來這邊買也是一個不錯選擇。Honest speaking, this is actually the BEST out of what we had today. The sushi had egg, kimchi, chicken and a bit of veggie. For the price of it, it's actually pretty reasonable. We'll definitely reconsider having Gim Bap again.Dduk bok gi $32這個韓式炒年糕也不錯,但是也蠻辣的.因為我們不是很會吃辣的關係, 這個吃到我們一頭大汗!!!This is SUPERRRRRRR spicy!!!My friend and I aren't a big fan of super spicy food, it's painful for us to finish it. Our face were blushing... hahaha.. kind of embarrassing.Dduk Gal Bi $72 (Korean Beef Hamburger BBQ) 韓國漢堡扒我們本來想試試看, 從MENU看起來蠻不錯。但真的不想說, 這個是出奇的難吃!!那個漢堡扒吃的時候, 有點一塊一塊, 又硬又有一些粒粒的。。。超奇怪!! 那個年糕, 又冷又硬。早知道如此, 我們叫多一份壽司, 比較划算。 真的很失望的。This is the most disappointing dish we had tonight. The hamburger has these very weird taste to it, and while chewing, you feel its cold and with lumps (no clue what those are). 今次我和友人就嘗試位於灣仔的The Pawn。The Pawn 坐落於這繁榮的灣仔,令這擁有百多年歷史既建築古蹟,更別具一番風味。Restaurant Week is back and this time my friend and I decided to try The Pawn, which is located in Wan Chai. The Pawn is a heritage building, while its located in one of the busy part of Hong Kong - Wanchai. With this combination, the heritage building stands out even more.我地從正門進入,走上一段小樓梯,轉左後,就乘坐電梯到二樓的餐廳。We entered through the main entrance, after walking a flight of stairs, and a left turn to the elevator heading to 2/f. We arrived to the restaurant section of The Pawn.坐低後, restaurant week 的 menu 已經放置在桌上。we were seated and the menu for restaurant week is placed on the table.服務:自問對服務員要求並不高,但今晚這位waiter 哥哥,我覺得我在受他面色食這頓晚餐。無奈。Service: honest speaking, I'm not expecting for 5 stars service. To me a Monday night dinner, i just want to enjoy my meal. Unfortunately, the terrible service I received from the waiter just made my whole experience so disappointed.Bread 麫包:普普通通,麪包略嫌較冷,但配上芝士,還不錯。Average - would be better if the bun was slightly warmer. But taste pretty good with the cheese spread.Appetizer:Seared and marinated yellow tail tuna普普通通 呑拿魚肉質並非太嫰,再配上沙律,不過不失的一碟頭盤。Average plate of appetizer, the tuna is not lacking its tenderness, and the salad on the bottom is just alright.Butter poached salmon不錯,三文魚幾嫩,幾滑。讚!Actually, pretty enjoyed this appetizer. The salmon was quite juicy and tender. Not bad not bad.Main course:都幾好食, 因為本人都比較喜歡吃肉汁較多和肉質較嫩的牛扒,所以hanger steak 這種以口感取勝的牛扒略有不同。Hanger steak 一直以它的肉質口感為賣點,要保存它的牛肉質感,就必要讓外層煮熟,從而鎖住內裏的肉汁,達到半生熟的狀態,這才能稱之上為美味。而the Pawn 這點就做得不錯。唯一可改善的地方就是份量略嫌細份。Pretty good.Well, personally not a hanger steak fans, i like the juiciness and tenderness from filet mignon more. So it's slightly incomparable.Hanger steak is known for its texture being more chewy and is best serve when it's raw inside with the meat cooked outside. And no doubt, The Pawn has done a pretty decent job on that. Only comment is, the size portion, at this price, everything here seems slightly too petit and not that filing.Pan roasted Sea Bass普普通通,沒有什麼特別。不過不失。So-So. Nothing spectacular, decent decent. Would be better if slightly less greasy, but overall it's alright.DessertRoasted peaches with lavender honey and pistachio Icecream都幾好食, 桃有少許蜜糖,但不是太甜,亦不是罐頭桃。讚讚!再配上開心果雪糕,真係幾好食。不錯不錯。Pretty good - the peaches aren't those canned peaches. So it's not overly sweetened, even with the honey mixed with it. And the pistachio Icecream taste pretty good. A well combination dessert, surely enjoyed it.Eccles cake with earl grey cream因為本人很喜歡earl grey tea. 所以更喜愛這個甜點。每口cream帶有濃厚的茶香,再配上美味的蛋糕,美味極了。Pretty enjoyed this dessert as well. 星期日,一家人臨時興起想食小籠包,所以就決定去位於銅鑼灣富豪酒店旁的鼎泰豐。抵達時大概8:00pm. It's Sunday and our family was craving for some dumpling. So we headed to "Din Tai Fung", located right next to Regal Hotel in Causeway Bay. We arrived there about 8pm. 一如以往,都係要等位。老實講,我未試過唔使等。今次就等8張,3至4人枱。 As usual, there was a huge line. For today, we needed to wait for 8 tables (3-4pax). 老實說,我真心覺得鼎泰豐既服務真係幾好。拎完枱號,就會俾份menu同點菜紙你。依個做法真係唔錯,等你排隊都有啲野做,同埋加快佢反枱既次數。 正因有時一家人食飯,實會左諗諗右諗諗,樣樣都想試。睇左份menu一陣後,好野,諗好食咩啦。 劃吖、劃。To be very honest, Din Tai Fung has pretty decent service. After getting the ticket #, they passed us the menu and order form. For sure when dining with the family, it usually takes longer to order. Looking through the menu and ticking off what we like, was indeed a fabulous opportunity for us to kill time. 劃完張點菜紙仲未到我地,咁就捉埋細佬去睇工作人員整小籠包。又一好打發時間既玩意。 再次要讚讚鼎泰豐真係好有條理。每位工作人員既罔位都唔同。有一個負責量麫粉,一個負責壓,一個負責放料,一個負責封番實個小籠包。勁! After checking off what we like, we still got time to kill. So I grabbed my brother to checkout the display case. Amazed! Din Tai Fang truly utilizes job rotation, each worker has its own specific task. And they are all experts in what they are doing, making the dumpling making process even more efficient. 睇睇下,嗌我地啦。入得去坐。 大概就8:30pm Table xx. Oh! It's our table. And now it's about 8:30pm. 坐低後,工作人員拎左我地張點菜紙,幫我地落單。 The staffs are super efficient. We sat down and they have already passed the order form to the kitchen. 嘩,話咁快,冷盤到曬啦。 Wow! Super efficient. All the appetizers are ready. 我地叫左 And we have ordered: - 干煸四季豆 Sautéed String Beans With Minced Pork 冷盤。細細碟,都幾好食,略嫌油左少少. A small cold appetizer. Pretty good, except slightly too greasy. - 酒糟鴨舌preserved duck tongue with rice wine 都係冷盤,都係細細碟。嫌酒味唔夠,依家有啲似酒同鴨舌分開,入味啲會仲好食。 Another small plate of appetizer. Would be better if the wine is more blended with the duck tongue, it ain't bad though. - 紹興醉雞 ShaoShing Wine marinated chicken 同鴨舌一樣,酒唔入味,但雞肉幾嫩。都ok. Similar as the duck tongue, seems like the chicken hasn't been marinated enough. Feels like the chicken and the wine are separate. But the chicken is pretty juicy. Thumbs up for that. 食完一輪冷盤,主角 蟹粉小籠包 終於到啦! After a round of appetizer, here comes the main course - crab roe and pork xiaolongbao (dumpling). 一籠有六個,薄既皮身 (不算很薄,但不錯),加埋juicy既豬肉同蟹粉。好食! One word to summarize it - delicious ! The dumpling wrapped with the juicy pork and the crab roe, yumm yumm! - 煎餃子 panfried dumpling 下次一定唔會再叫。個皮又厚,成個餃子又油。 Thumbs down for the panfried dumpling. It's so greasy... Awful!最後,碟 炸醬伴麪 都到埋啦! And lastly, some carbs! Noodles with minced pork sauce. 依個普通,飽肚既麪。唔好食,但唔難食。不過不失。 Wouldn't say it's good, but ain't bad. 由中學到而家,總係離唔開灣仔區。如果要揀我心水推介既餐廳,友和必定榜上有名。Since secondary school, I just can't leave Wan Chai district.And my top choice is "Tomakazu Japanese Restautant".對於和食,好多人認為和食只要刺身新鮮,切割講究為之上品,往往忽略左和食既根本 - 米飯。米飯點樣煮到粒粒分明、鬆軟香口絕對為丼飯錦上添花。For Japanese food, majority of us constantly thinks about sashimi - how fresh it is, the way of cutting it. With the just right sweetness of the sauce, blended with the eel, not only the eel remains juicy, most importantly it covers the fishyness of the eel. 又到星期六,最期待的hightea 日子今次又試新hightea舖頭依間位於中環再上既餐廳 Tea Saloon By AnotherFineDay.Yeah! It's Saturday. Don't know since when, afternoon tea has been designated on Saturdays.And today, my friend and i tried another new high tea place on my afternoon tea list. (Drum Roll Please... Ta DA!) Tea Saloon By AnotherFineDay.我同友人因為時間關係所以選擇搭的士我地係鏞記上的士 兜上去Robinson Road 再落番去卑利街落車 ($29)Given the time constraint, my friend and i decided to cab to the restaurant. We got on at LKF, near Yung Kee, and it costed us about $29. The taxi needed to go down from Robinson Road. Apparently there's no way going up from caine road.其實如果有時間 係堅道行上去都好近係浸信教會前面有條樓梯上咁就唔使搭的士And after our high tea, we realized, there's a short cut, which is walking up from the staircase located on Caine Road, near the baptist church. We could of save some $$ if we knew this little short cut... but whatever 我同友人約左幾次 次次不是天公不做美 就是臨時有事終於來了Side note, my friend and i have planned to come here a few times... and finally... we ARRIVED!!!入到去好多人 還好我們訂左位我地order 左一set gentleman's 同ladies'唔係好記得個menu點分別佢地但我隱約記得gentlemen' 係飽肚少少 ladies' 係甜品為主因為我地叫左各一 所以佢地合併左上另外每人個set跟個茶 - Mdm Grey 和 Afternoon Tea.Luckily we booked our table, it's PACKED!We flip through the menu quickly, and ordered a set of gentleman's and ladies'. Honest speaking, I don't remember exactly the difference between the 2 sets. Only remember one is more filling - duh, that's the gentlemen's. Whereas, the ladies one is more sweet, which obviously, that's for the ladies.When the staff presented it, the afternoon set came together. That's the other reason why i don't remember what is in which set.And we ordered a tea with our set - which we ordered Mdm Grey and Afternoon Tea. Mdm Grey is similar to Earl Grey.同平時一樣 係最低個層食先依Set 就有平時都有既scone, croissant, house salad 同 burger. 特別少少係個綠茶tiramisu依層都幾好食.As usual, from the bottom tier.We got the scone, croissant, house salad and burger. The only special one is the green tea tiramisu.中間就tart為主 有煙三文魚,蘑菇同黑松露; 還有crab rillette.In the middle tier, we've got the tart-based. The Smoked salmon, mushroom and black truffle. As well as the crab rillette.最高的tier就是甜點分別有栗子, 巧克力, 玫瑰味的CUPCAKE 同一個玫瑰味的macaroon最後, 仲有一個都幾甜既maple syrup 味的puff (佢貌似puff, 嘻嘻, 只記得。。 食左一啖。。。 超甜 >口< )And lastly, on the very top tier.There's the chestnut, chocolate and rose flavour cupcake, as well as the rose flavor macaroon. And lastly, there's this super duperly sweet maple syrup coated puff... i believe it is.. i really don't remember what this one is... only remember i took one bite of it.. and it's VERYYYY sweet.總括而言, 我同我的朋友又多一度 hightea 好去處。 $498 + 10%,兩位, 其實都唔算太貴。我地好大機會會再番黎。但唯一我地覺得可以進步,就係人手安排。我地次次叫人,都需要少少時間, 個個都好忙。但除此以外, 其他方面都好好。Overall, Tea Saloon By AnotherFineDay is indeed a new hangout place, my friends and i are going to come back again.For the price, $498 + 10% for 2, is pretty legit.Only comment we have, seems like there's insufficient staff on the floor, but don't get me wrong, they are super nice, just do expect some time before you can have someone to assist you. …Read More
