It was an amazing meal! We came here for lunch. The theme for these few months was ode to soy sauce, which means soy sauce was used in many of the dishes.The Chef used soy sauce in a highly intelligent way, this common Chinese seasoning enhanced the taste of the food and brought the best out of the ingredients. It was not only a great meal, it was also a great learning experience for me on the history of soy sauce! I still feel amazed by the way how soy sauce was used in the French/Chinese fusion dishes and how well it mixed with the ingredients, and it was part of the meal from entree to dessert and in different forms! I can tell the chef must have put a lot of thoughts into the menu, and one must come here to experience it for him/herself!All of the dishes were exceed expectation and exceptionally delicious! Everything was just brilliant starting from the sourdough and Amuse-Bouche! It is difficult to pick my favourite out of all but I would say the mandarin fish was very special and impressive! The fried chicken skin and oil with soy sauce on the side highlighted the flavour of the fish, with the shrimp mousse in the middle of the fish enhancing the texture! In addition, the gentlemen who served us on the day were very thoughtful and attentive and explained every dish well. I have visited this restaurant a number of times, as it is close to work and the price is reasonable, and the food was great every time so it’s guaranteed satisfaction! This was the best visit I have had in terms of service (I must say it has improved since my last visit) and think the restaurant deserves a good review (especially after my bad encounter with another Japanese tempura restaurant, I think good food and service should be recognised)! Their sushi and fish were really fresh! I really love their uni (sea urchin) which was wrapped in some kind of seaweed, as you can see from my photo below, the uni was very special and the seaweed highlighted the taste of the uni, you could literally taste the sweetness of the ocean in your mouth! I am slightly hesitated in writing a review of this restaurant, as the food was SO GOOD that I want to keep this as a little secret for myself and my friends!As we were running out of time (given it was a weekday lunch), My friend and I ordered their set lunch menu, instead of their Omakase. The sashimi rice bowl I had was lovely, the ingredients were fresh and the portion was just right. My friend ordered the tempura set, it was so good (as I tried a little from my friend’s) and I will certainly be returning soon to try it and their Omakase! When I booked they offered only Valentine’s Day special menu. It was indeed a pleasant surprise that they offered a la carte menu on the day, and a selection of daily special menu, which were just amazing! 佢嘅菜式非常之有法國Bistro嘅感覺,食物係非常之好食,而且都幾大碟!我最鍾意係佢嘅龍蝦,煎得非常之香口,加上用嘅係法國龍蝦,好鮮甜!我朋友就鍾意佢個雞,個汁做得非常之好,香濃可口,襯起平時比較清淡嘅雞胸,係非常之夾嘅。但呢兩個都係佢嘅daily special,唔係平常嘅餐單上。我哋仲嗌左兩個甜品,其中一個係熱情果口味嘅creme brûlée, 我覺得係有驚喜嘅,因為佢酸酸甜甜,同平時嘅cream brûlée 完全唔同,非常之好味!佢嘅酸味減咗油膩感!總括嚟講係滿足嘅一餐!I have been to France many times and been to top Michelin restaurants as well as bistros. I like the lobster dish (which was a daily special) very much, it was a pan seared dish using blue lobster from France! The lobster was sweet and chewy which means that it was very fresh! This is certainly one of the hardest to book restaurants in Hong Kong, and I do know the reason why as their food and services were of top quality. No doubt why people are willing to queue up for months for it!To begin with, their services were of top-notch! The lady who took my booking was very polite and explained everything so well (this is not always the case for restaurants in Hong Kong). And the lady who served us also explained every dishes very well so that we would appreciate the menu and not over order. They serve only one set menu for lunch with additional dishes which you may add on top of the set. I like every dishes in the set, in particular the Samgye risotto, I have never imagined that ginseng chicken risotto would go so well with black truffle! The set consists of a good variety of Korean traditional dishes, with a tweak on the traditional recipes which makes every dishes and this restaurant so special and stands out from all other Korean restaurants! There are indeed too many amazing restaurants in Hong Kong (and some are not so great), and this is certainly another place which one would have no hesitation in recommending and returning!The food was lovely, the dishes were authentic - it is Japanese fusion so the dishes were a mixture of Japanese ingredients with Western and Japanese style of cooking. We had a few of their signature dishes, including the flower crab and uni dish, as shown in the picture below. The dish was amazing and I could still remember the sweetness overloading in the mouth from that dish, the combination of the two ingredients was just brilliant! The seasoning they put (including shiso (also known as beefsteak plant) I think?) went really well with the crab and uni and highlighting the freshness of the ingredients.The price is on the high side but I certainly think the food and services worth every penny of it! 以前住喺附近,成日經過呢一間餐廳,一直都冇入去,後來見到好多好嘅食評,就諗住去一試,非常好味嘅天婦羅,以後一定會常來!I lived nearby before and always walked pass this restaurant. I regretted that I never go before but will certainly come again in the near future! 佢午餐有兩個選擇,一個係比較簡單嘅set,另外一個係Omakase set。當日我哋食嘅係簡單菜單,係坐Table。每一道菜都係非常之精緻,有主菜嘅海鮮,同配襯嘅蔬菜天婦羅。個皮係淺色嗰一種粉,非常之香脆鬆化,但係食完亦都唔會口渴或者覺得熱氣!They had two choices for their set lunch, one was a simple set and the other was a fancy Omakase set. As we were not particularly hungry that day, we ordered the simple set, and were arranged to be seated at the table. All there dishes were perfectly done, with fresh and seasonal seafood, and vegetables on the side, the presentation was great as well (as you can see from my photos). The batter was the light colour one (which is exactly the way I like), which was crispy and thin, you won’t find it thirsty after having the food!食材亦都食得出係非常之新鮮,味道係豐富嘅。師傅係日本人,仲有一位日本嘅女侍應,招呼係非常之貼心同周到嘅。餐廳嘅位唔多,有counter,同埋table。如果想坐counter,可能要預先講定!慶幸食到呢一餐開心嘅午餐!下次一定會再來!One could also tell that they used very fresh ingredients, with appropriate seasoning while keeping the freshness in the ingredients. No doubt the best Indian restaurant in HK!

I am not a big fan of Indian food and the recent experience in New Punjab Club completely changed my mind! I will definitely return again soon!We were greeted by a young gentleman, who introduced us to the menu (I am terribly sorry that I didn’t take his name). I really wish to give him a round of applause and thank you for the attentive services which make the lunch exceptional! I seldom comment on the decorations of a restaurant, this restaurant has a few amazing contemporary art pieces which are spectacular and worth mentioning! All the dishes were amazing and memorable, the Tandoori Lamb, in particular, was certainly the best Lamb I have ever had! It was perfectly done, not over or undercooked, and the spice matched perfectly with the taste of the lamb. Another must order was the Gin and Tonic which goes perfectly with the Tandoori dishes. I will post a few more photos of the food (apologise again as I didn’t take a picture of the menu so I can’t recall the exact name of the dishes), as you can see, the dishes were so good and perfectly done, one must come here to try them in person! I appreciate all the recommendations and the wonderful services of this restaurant, all the staff were friendly and attentive and happy to answer all your questions on Indian food and traditions, so don’t be shy to ask for recommendations from them! We have booked this restaurant for months, due to the Covid restrictions on dine-in, our dinner has been postponed for a few times, and it truly didn’t disappoint! The food was great! The selection of sake was wonderful too! As you can see from the photos below, they were authentic Japanese Kappo dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients. One of my favourite dishes was this grilled Kinmedai. I have had similar dishes at various great restaurants, this is certainly the best and worth a mention! The Kinmedai was cooked in traditional Osaka style, and was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender in the inside!I was really impressed by the illustrations by the Japanese Chef on the seasonal Donabe with fresh grilled firefly squid. The firefly squid itself was very special and went perfectly well with the rice and vegetables underneath. And the illustrations best demonstrate how attentive and considerate the Chef and the staff of this restaurant were!The price for Omakese dinner was roughly $2500 per person, it is certainly not cheap, and I must say the dinner worths every penny of it! …Read More

This is certainly one of the best tempura restaurants in Hong Kong! Their ingredients were fresh. You could taste the freshness of the seafood which was not overdone and covered by the batter. The batter itself was nicely done, thin and crispy. You won’t feel thirsty after the food, which is a plus for tempura which is obviously a fried dish. If you do not want to be disappointed and humiliated, avoid this restaurant!!如果您不想失望和屈辱,請避開這家餐廳My Friday night was completely ruined by this restaurant! I feel obliged to write my first ever review and warn people DO NOT BOOK this restaurant if there is a slight chance that you may not make it on time, otherwise it is a GUARANTEED DISAPPOINTMENT. And don’t attempt to call or go if you could be over 15 minutes late, even just by 1 minute, as you will certainly be pushed out of the door and find yourself embarrassed in front of your guest. I booked this restaurant many weeks ago. At the time of the booking, the dine-in restrictions after 6pm were still in place. After the government relaxed the restrictions, the restaurant called and rearranged the booking to their earlier session, which was 6:15-8pm. At the call, I informed the female staff that I am unlikely to make it on time at 6:15pm, and will arrive around 6:30pm. She told me to try to be punctual as we may be unable to finish the full course if we are late. I told her at the time that I could only leave work at 6pm and emphasised that I will arrive around 6:30pm to be realistic and asked her to make a note on that.I received no further call or confirmation until around 3:45pm on the day of my booking. I acknowledged that I confirm the booking for the night. There was no mentioning of any policy that they will literally push you out of the restaurant if you are over 15 minutes late at any time. Later in the day I was held up at a meeting and needed to leave work slightly late. When I was on my way at 6:13pm, I received a call from the restaurant, bluntly asking where I am. I was surprised and told them I was coming from the direction of IFC, and questioned as it was not yet even time for the booking. They urged me to come as soon as possible as they were waiting for me to start the meal. Again there was no mentioned at the time when I booked that every table must start at the same time.When I arrived at the restaurant, at around 6:32pm, which was slightly past 6:30pm, they refused to let us in as our booking has been cancelled and it is their policy that they will not accept guest after 6:30pm, and will enforce that strictly. I was surprised to hear that for the first time as I have only just told them I was on my way from IFC and, needless to say, it will take over 15 mins to walk over given Central was really packed at 6pm rush hour. I questioned why they did not mention the “6:30pm” policy at the time of the earlier calls today, or at the time I book. I tried to explain that when I booked, I asked the lady staff to include a remark that I will arrive around 6:30pm, but was pushed out of the restaurant door for the reason that we were disturbing other customers and “let’s talk outside”. When the male staff pushed us out of the door, he said sorry and closed the door, instead of “talk outside” as claimed. I am totally disappointed by the level of service offered by this restaurant. My questions are:-1. If “time is of the essence”, and they have a policy that they will kick their customers out when they are over 15 minutes late, they should have made it clear at the time of the booking, so that people can judge whether they wish to proceed with the booking.2. They have ample opportunities to warn me, at the time when I book, when they reconfirm booking, and when they call at 6:13pm on the day.3. Also, they could have reconfirmed booking one day in advance, in order to allow people to make alternative arrangements.My friend and I were very looking forward to the dinner, and have even cancelled other appointments for it. My Friday night was completely ruined by this restaurant and I will never dare to go back again in case I am stuck at work or traffic. Also, please be warned not to bring important guest to this restaurant as you will certainly find yourself embarrassed by being pushed out of the restaurant. And don’t worry, they are also not apologetic for the ill treatment to their customers. I am certainty not suggesting that the restaurant is wrong by any means as I am indeed late and there is no excuse for that. They are also free to set whatever policy they wish. I just wish there was advance warning on that policy and hope no one will have the same disappointing experience as it certainly ruined our night and mood. or#Tm65257121 Indeed my fault for booking and wish the policy was made known to me earlier. Being late is also no excuse as I have mentioned but I still believe the restaurant could have explained the policy in advance and told me in the earlier phone calls.
