Grass Island Sea Urchin BBQ

I went there to eat because it was marketed as a place for sea urchin lovers. I was truly disappointed. Here’s what I ordered: two large scallops with sea urchin, beef on skewers, sea urchin soup with silver noodles, and razor clam with garlic.The Ichiban frozen beer they serve is just perfect. The icy foam on top is great. Whoever created the machine that makes the icy foam deserves the Nobel Prize. The scallops were slightly too well done and you can hardly taste the urchin. I ordered it via a special on OpenRice for 28 a piece (versus regularly priced at 78). The beef on skewers were cooked perfectly but it was definitely overpriced. The sea urchin soup with silver noodles is on a special menu. Personally I didn’t like the soup at all. I think urchin would be better raw. When cooked, you don’t get the creamy texture. Lastly, I ordered the razor clam with garlic. I think there were too much garlic and didn’t let the sweetness of the razor clam come out as much. Overall the service is good but the food is below average at best. If you are looking for a sea urchin place, this is NOT it.
