Big surprise in food court
Thai Style Boat Noodle
2019-12-11
Always wanted to have boat noodles near SSP area. Totally out of my expectation, $41 (take out) lunch got a very large bowl with free drink. The chicken meat was tender and large portion, soup is rich, and the fried pig skin is crispy. Highly recommended if you like boat noodles.…Read More

Very good Saturday lunch
GLOW
2017-06-03
Ordered lunch sets, both were surprisingly good. The yamato pork loin was super tender and juicy, and the mussel pasta was cooked to perfection. Mussels were cooked just to the perfect doneness, and the pasta was Al Dente. Coffee or tea included and that wrapped up a nice Saturday lunch.…Read More

Hidden Gem in Prince Edward
SUSHI TERU
2017-05-29
A hidden Sushi restaurant offers omakase menu, which is rather unusual in Prince Edward. $680 discounted price ($800 originally) per head and we enjoyed the night a lot. Fresh ingredients from Japan were used, and the food was made by heart. Chef introduced us a very good price Sake which was surprisingly good (unlike most restaurant will introduce the higher price alcohol). Don't expect the environment can match those higher tier sushi restaurant in Central or CWB, but at this price range I would definitely come back again.…Read More

Lovely place with great food
Glos Cafe by Fooody
2016-10-16
A friend recommended this place because of the live performance and also have a chance to sing a song or two if the mood is right on stage, so I didn't expect the food will be great here... I was wrong. The Taiwan style beef noodle tastes really good! The 藥膳排骨煲 also was packed full of flavor and the portion was huge! Other food like 滷水拼盤 was also tasty. Good food, good beer, good songs, wonderful place. Such a gem in Hong Kong.…Read More

Best Fish and Chips in town
Camden Town
2016-10-16
Was curious about the overwhelming positive comment on their fish n chips, so decided to give it a try. No joke, it's the best fish n chips I have ever had! Thin but crispy crust, juicy fish, strong flavour, tasty homemade tartar sauce or you can choose malt vinegar. Also tried the mussels with garlic bread which was another crowd pleaser. Definitely in love of this little restaurant and will return for sure.…Read More

Below our expectation
Flaming Pot
2016-10-16
Nicely decorated hotpot place, very spacious and comfortable. Start with 混醬 first, the soy sauce was too salty and can dilute a bit. We ordered the tomato potato soup base, middle size 本地手切牛, 鯇魚片, oysters, 鮮腐竹, cuttlefish balls, 魚皮鮫, lettuce, and also 椒鹽三文魚 as snacks to start off. The salmon was a great starter, so we have some expectation on the hot pot food. Soup base was decent, taste not spectacular but with fair amount of tomatoes and potatoes and also some tofu. The beef comes first, and although it looked fresh the beef didn't have good marbling at all, and it is supposed to be the second best beef on the menu ( best is A5 wagyu ). Tried the beef at once and was very disappointed at such a price ($238). Cuttlefish ball no cuttlefish taste, and the 鯇魚片 made us a bit mad because every single bite caused pain, there were just too many tiny fish bones which were totally unacceptable (there will be one or two tiny bone normally, but this is just way too many bones!). The oysters were fresh and the size was big, 鮮腐竹 and 魚皮餃 are normal and portions were generous. Try to finish up our meals with lettuce but then found some tiny pieces of 發泡膠 floating in our pot, which obviously comes from the container of the lettuce. They kindly served free desserts 紅豆沙and綠豆沙 but unfortunately, they tasted really bland and I would suggest some sort of ice cream or fruits would be a safer choice. Not a very pleasant hot pot dinner afterall.…Read More

Comfy Thai Restaurant
Thai Gather Restaurant & Bar
2016-10-16
Bumped into this newly opened Thai restaurant. Very spacious and comfortable. Got some grand opening discount so we ordered the yellow curry crab, Thai style lettuce wrap and chicken and pork satay. Food was decent, huge crab and the curry sauce was not too bad but I still prefer the one in Mango Tree more personally (but more $$$ of course). Very attentive service very well trained waiters and waitresses. Overall we spent a very pleasant evening there.…Read More

Best yakiniku in town
YAKINIKU GREAT (Manhattan Avenue)
2016-10-07
Simply the best yakiniku in town! They serve rare cuts from authentic Japanese wagyu beef and it's a shame if you didn't order their omakase beef set or the dinner menu. All the different cuts gave you different textures and all of us were just smiling and enjoying while chewing(or not quite need to chew for some cuts). The kimchi and salads were also fresh, and the service was nice! The instructions on how to grill the beef were clearly explained and demonstrated. Maybe pricey but the quality is just so good that it's almost the same as having top quality yakiniku in Japan.…Read More

Not just a place for beer
TAP The Ale Project
2016-10-07
It's always interesting to try out different types of beers and this place is going to satisfy you for sure. Got 0.2L tasting portion for drivers which is sweet. The snacks quality are surprisingly good and which creative ideas which fuses Chinese cuisine into western. The bread and butter with three types of spreads where always a crowd pleaser as you can choose from many special spreads include pesto, XO sauce or even 腐乳!Fried macaroni cheese ball is good, and fried bacon is just as evil as it sounds. Definitely will make you happy after work.…Read More

Best omakase in town
Okura Japanese Restaurant
2016-10-05
I have been here for three times and I was amazed and left with big smile every single time. The omakase dinner set ($12XX-$13XX) was a real bargain, fresh sashimi and sushi were just served like endlessly in a good pace, in between there will be hot snacks and food for some good rest between too much raw fishes. All ingredients were chosen according to the season, and I bet there will be quite many items you haven't tried before. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who like omakase, no joke!…Read More

Full of surprises
Sabor Spanish Touch Private Kitchen
2016-10-05
Very good private Spanish Kitchen! Will discuss with you thru whatsapp beforehand about the menu, free corkage and no service charge, the $530 set is really a bargain. We tried the mix menu which can refer to previous reviews for photos. The tapas were all good (clams, squid and prawns) with surprises. The best thing is the Paella which was probably the best I had in HK so far, very well balanced. We had a very enjoyable night and will definitely recommend my friends to try.…Read More

Poor snacks quality
De Luna Tapas Bar & Restaurant
2016-09-30
Tried this new tapas bar. Decoration is okay so we kind of have some expectations of their snacks. Half dozen Coffin bay oysters got two free glasses of sparkling during happy hour. Oysters were fresh. Asparagus and cheese rolled with Spanish ham was okay. Nightmare starts when we tried the garlic shrimp which is super small in size and with no garlic and shrimp taste, probably the worst garlic shrimp tapas I ever had. Buffalo Wings were overly fried with almost black-colored crust which was unappetizing. The charcoal feel crust tastes bitter. Although you got 15% off the whole bill during happy hour, this poor experience made us rather unhappy.…Read More

Very bad group buy experience
寧記火鍋
2016-06-15
One of the worst group buy experience. A hot pot restaurant need good air conditioning in summer time, we sweated like crazy at the restaurant. The soy sauce has a unpleasant sour taste, everyone complained about that. They changed to a new one but still sour, I ended up without dipping in any soy sauce at all! The so called USA beef was tasteless and rough. The only food I think is acceptable are the duck blood and fish tofu. Service is okay, but they gotta think about improvement of the food quality (sour soy sauce is not acceptable!).…Read More

King's Dumpling
2011-08-13
Just wanna have a casual dinner before movie time. Time a bit rush and no need to wait so we just go in and give it a try.The signature dish Pork dumpling was disappointing, only got some tasteless juice inside, and dumpling size was small also.Fried dumpling wasn't hot, only mildly warm. This killed the dish at once. Moreover, the taste was only mediocre. The "crystal egg", again only very mild sweet taste on the preserved surface layer of the egg white, tasteless egg yolk....terrible."粉蒸排骨"...a complete different version from what I had in Taiwan. Dried meat and some strange taste.. we didn't finish this dish.肴肉is tasteless, again! The most normal dish is 津白, remember is only normal.Totally ruined our mood before the movie! …Read More

NNT Steak - NO NEXT TIME!
BLT Steak
2010-02-21
Attracted by the harbour view seats, we are lured into this so called fine dining restaurants.Talk about the FOOD 1. Horrific salmon appetizer. Extremely salty and tastes really weird with the herbs, plain salmon sashimi or smoked salmon will be soooo much better. Feel so sorry for the salmon...2. The "famous cheese bread".... the best thing is the butter. Basically the bread has no flavour and that's why they serve the bread with a huge can of salt!3. The roasted tomato soup is okay..not spectacular though. The caesar salad's portion is huge, and it tastes so so, the one from CPK tastes way better. The only good thing about the salad is that with the portion, you at least get some fibre from the meal.4. The main course: Australian ribeye, medium rare. Serves with nothing, you need to pay extra (and I mean a big extra) for sidedish (which we ordered the onion ring $78 extra!) The steak is more dry than an old lady, juiceless and overcooked. I thought for a moment I was having dried beef jerky (though I think the jerky may have more juice). How can a restaurant with the word "steak" in its name serves something this bad?! Well, the steak was served with a sauce, since the steak was so dried up, I can't wait to immerse the steak completely in the sauce. Result: the sauce was so weird to the point I rather stuff the dried up steak in my mouth. 5. Oh, the best yet to come, the late sidedish with the onion ring: no seasoning to the onion ring, the texture was so soggy....I would be way happier having onion rings at BK.Service wise, totally unsatisfactory with poker face waitress. You get better services at cafe de coral. The only thing that's "fine dining" about this restaurant is the price. Spending $700+ for decent food is totally fine. But having crappy food on a Saturday night is indeed very depressive. Definitely NNT.For the taste and good value below: any points lower than 1 that can be chosen?!…Read More
