This is the kind of restaurant which rests on its view to attract patrons. And the view is fantastic: only the Peninsula helicopter pad interrupts the harbour sights, there are interesting perspectives on the K-11 building, and the island looks great from this high floor. Also on the plus side, comfortable lounge banquettes, an attractive oyster bar, nice jazzy music mix. We were a party of 6, wanting to try the place out. We all went for the set lunch options (ranging from $160-200 depending on the main selected). We agreed that the food was quite tasty - caesar salad entree well exectued and attractive, prawn entree got a positive review from those who had it. For the mains, the writer opted for a roll of chicken, roasted with a crust - very tasty. This came with a mouthful of mint salad - no vegetables or sides included. Others went for pan-fried sea bass ("a bit fatty" said one diner), which came on a small salad bedding. One person opted for steak, which came well-done (although she had requested rare).Where the place fell down totally was in the service. The restaurant was not crowded, but it was constantly difficult to attract attention from anyone on staff. The prawn entrees arrived well before the salads, and had clearly been plated up, then stuck in the refrigerator (film of condensation on the plate proved this). Those who ordered prawns waited for the other entrees, but then had to start, and were nearly finished before the rest of the party had received its dishes. Two mains came wrong and had to be sent back - no apology from the staff for that - so we had to wait again. Coffees were ordered, then didn't come until we chased. Five beverages came but no hot water for one person's tea - we had to ask twice for that. Plain water refills just didn't happen. After I requested the bill it was presented to the wrong person at the table. You get the idea - the restaurant is basically inattentive to the customers' needs. We were a party of two for a late dinner. There was no wait for a table, and the service throughout was pretty efficient, the only criticism being the usual Hong Kong problem of being hurried along as the kitchen closed. But the quality of steaks was very high, and they came as ordered (one rare, one medium) - certainly not cut too thin or ungenerously. We both had black angus steaks. The portions are large - the mushroom side is specially recommended. Great wine list, though it's 'high end'. One other criticism: the choice of music, which is quite loud and 'pop/rock'. We were a party of four for Sunday brunch. Moderately grumpy service from our waitress was followed by a long, long wait for the food. At the end of the wait, one dish out of four was incorrect. It was sent back. When the correct dish arrived it was cold and had obviously not been recently prepared. We sent this back, too. The manager got involved, apologetic and sighing and tutting at the situation. Half of the final dish was hot, and by that stage we'd given up. This was for scrambled eggs with vegetables - very basic fare. The actual quality of food was average at best. Also in the order - tuna steak, which was not cooked to order (we requested medium, it came rare). After such a long wait, we didn't complain about this at the restaurant. The pizza looked nice. The best thing about this restaurant was the decor - very nicely appointed. So much was wrong with everything else: the service was halting and somehow embarrassed. It gave the impression that no one is in charge there. The wait for coffee was very long; when it arrived it tasted watery and unpleasant. The 'full english breakfast' included one burnt mushroom (which hadn't been cooked recently!), tasteless bacon, and a whole lot of baked beans. You have to ask for butter for the toast. You have to ask for salt or pepper - the pepper is too big for the holes in the shaker: economical for them!The restaurant was less than half full on a Sunday at lunchtime.
