Great Burgers with reasonable prices
Burger Mix
2009-06-11
A new burger joint around Fortress Hill, and it beats other burgers joints around the neighborhood like Macs and Burger King any day. Most important of all the prices are way competitive compared to other burger joints out there. While joints like Shake'em Buns charge you way over the top, Burger Mix is a lot cheaper, but yet the quality and quantity of it's burger isn't anywhere like Macs Big Mac.Unfortunately the location of their store is kind a poor, but don't let it discourage you to give these guys a try. Remember, if your going to be a stereo-type your bound to miss a lot of great things. And Burger Mix is one thing you don't want to miss for sure.Of course, there still new and there are a lot of room for improvements. Like their team coordination, operation flow, staff discipline, timing, communication, staffs attitude and in a way, there quantity of their drinks and fries. But it's still enough for any appetite. When I said their staff attitude, I don't mean bad but they need to take their roles a little more seriously. Saying all that. the bottom-line is that the price for their burgers are absolutely reasonable. You are paying for a low price, but getting a Shake'em Bun size burgers. A hell lot cheaper too! Of course, don't expect too much, but it's still good enough to get an A grade for sure. …Read More

One word - Excellent!
Tung Ming Kee
2009-03-09
This is one of the best cuisines I've ever came across! Aside from Hot Pots, they also serve other dishes which is why I give them an overall 'Excellent' grade. Yeah, their not all about Hot Pots! The service is also good; and there are a lot of foreigner's who come by to try out the place. It's a pretty cozy environment and it's a lot hygienic compared to other Hot Pot's restaurants who severe on the streets (pavements) or behind back alleys. Anyone who wants try out Hot Pots or simply some Chinese dishes, I highly recommend this place for you to indulge yourself! …Read More

Good stuff and can improve
MR. Vietnamese Baguette House
2008-10-31
Tried out their stuff and it was kind a interesting to try out Vietnamese Baguette. I had the Black Malt Shredded Pork, and the taste is kind a unique. The proportion is kind a small for a guy like me, but for ladies who are looking for healthy diet, this one is a 'must'. Even guys too. It's still a new shop and their is definitely room for improvements. I'm hope they can implement some more choices; and eventually enlarge the sizes of the bread or simply make it optional. The price is a bit high (just a bit) but it's healthy and authentic, so I would recommend anyone to give this place a try. But if your a heavy eater or somebody with a BIG appetite and it happens to be your lunch time, then I wouldn't recommend you to go their for lunch unless otherwise. …Read More

Good Food & Good Service
Subway
2008-10-30
I'm happy to see a Subway around Fortress Hill, so I decided to give them a try. It's a small shop, mostly for take-away, but the food are as good as always. The service is also good, a bit better then the one in Wan Chai I would say. The prices are also fair and acceptable; since you get to choose what kind of ingredients to add onto your subs. It's also enticing as well healthy as well. So I would highly recommend this place to any of you who haven't tried out Subway before of haven't tried out this branch yet. …Read More

Worst Service & Employees
McDonald's (King's Commercial Centre)
2008-09-22
When will the Hong Kong McDonalds ever learn to recruit competent people to serve people? If People from the US sees how people are handling their customers over here in HK, they will probably pull out... The employees they recruit are students yes, but really pathetic ones who can't even understand simple English. Not only that, but they do not take their job seriously as well. Especially with this branch! Giving opportunities to teenagers is a good thing, but giving it to the right teenagers is another. They lack the discipline and competence also the attitude. Also Macs has been lacking a lot of different choices... So with how the place is and everything I will have to give this branch Macs a low point..... …Read More

Acceptable prices, good food
Toppings
2008-08-28
I've been a customer with these guys since their old shop to what it is today. And I must say the service the food everything has been good all along. I highly recommend anybody to try them out, it's worth the deal! The prices for the food are also considerate and reasonable. At least way cheaper and better then Shae'em Buns! The 2 bosses are friendly guys and customer service is the best. Of course if they could add more choices of toppings for the burgers and hot dogs in the future, that would be cool. I heard they will be implementing more choice of food into their menus, a definitly a good place to check out!…Read More

Bad Service, Burger about Quantity & NOT Quality
Monster Burger
2008-08-28
I've hard about Monster Burger for quite sometime. I had a chance to try it out around a week ago when I went to pick up my girlfriend. It was around 6'ish PM and there wasn't many people in the shop. I was greeted by a cute lady who is the cashier. Everything looks great, until one of their staffs started to act stupid and rude. This fat guy who has his hair slightly brownish was cracking up stupid jokes and was goofing around extremely loudly. Not only was it disturbing but he was putting Monster Burgers reputation down. When we left, he shouted out " Thank you for coming to us!" it was too excessive and he clearly was taking me and my girlfriend as a fool. The people there are just like those unprofessional teens you see at Macdonalds or KFC these days.As for the food goes, well when I first saw the leaflet I thought the burger looked great. But to my dismay, it's all about quantity then quality. The burger is big yes, but not only was the taste out of portion, it wasn't all that great for a 40-50 dollar meal. The burger wasn't fresh, as I saw the cook clearly taking out a patty out of a tray that had a cloth covering it. The burger was simply warm and it was overall not worth the deal. I may be negative about these guys, but I have to say the firs was the only thing I consider worth buying from them, nothing more.In my opinion, if you never tried out Monster Burger, keep it up and forget them. If you plan on trying, well be ready for some stupid clown show from that fat employee and a cold 'un'fresh burger. I would recommend Triple-O and Burger King then that pie hole place. They really did name their shop well.. Monster Burger, yes Monster Burger of Pie Hole …Read More
