Read online that this restaurant had jumbo pineapple buns.It was indeed jumbo, at least 50% larger than regular. Sadly, the butter was not upsized and so the bun to butter ratio felt out of whack and took away from the experience.Additionally, as I was eating, I was interrupted and berated by some female staff member for not folding up and replacing the menu on the menu stand, mentioning that the menu was getting dirtied by the falling pineapple bun bits. Just clean and sanitize the menus FFS. What a disgusting service attitude!Beware there is HKD 18 minimum charge per pax so was forced to order something else (salted beef sandwich which was barely edible). Understand why some places have minimum charges but shocked and egregious that a cheap establishment like this would have one. I had these egg tarts recently and they were so good I felt like having more today.I was at the airport and was not sure they would be open by the time I would get there so I called ahead and the shopkeeper said they would be open and agreed to reserve 4 for yours truly. So imagine my surprise/shock/anger when upon my arrival, after I had travelled all the way from the airport, the shopkeeper sheepishly grins and says they are sold out. It would all have been excusable but for the fact that I had asked and she had agreed to reserve the tarts for me. I gave her a short lecture on living up to one’s commitments and that she had essentially wasted an hour and a half of my time traveling for nothing.In the end—at my suggestion—they made another dozen for me after I agreed to buy the whole dozen (at a paltry HKD 6 discount only after I asked). As luck would turn out, other customers wanted egg tarts too so I only had to be responsible for 8 (conveniently didn’t give discount).I think the least she could have done in the first instance was to offer me a discount or some other product on the house given it was her mistake. I guess it simply isn’t the way Hong Kong businesses are run. All she did was continually apologize and tell me to come back another day—I was seriously contemplating never coming back.I will come back for the egg tarts and do appreciate that they made more but note it would have been better had they been more customer oriented and proactive in remediating what was their mistake.…查看更多

Came here after reading about this place online, did not regret it. Egg tart was anazing—well made flaky crust, strong egg flavor, Goldilocks sweetness and temperature.Portuguese tart was nothing special, was cold and tasted worse than the egg tart. I had their roast pork (燒肉) dine in. When you dine in you cannot buy by weight, only order standard portions.It was so horrible—dry, tough, cold—the slightly crispy skin could not redeem it.Service was horrible: asked the difference between the different roast meats (燒腩，燒肉, etc.) and they pointed to 3 hanging pieces of meat which looked the same and didn’t say more. Was in the area and again looking for noodles. Found this gem which has very good beef tendon.I ordered beef tendon rice noodle. Beef tendons well flavored and very tender, but not "chu hau" style. I love Applegreen. Not too many places in HK that pays reasonable attention to salads as a raison d'être, i.e. centerpiece of meal, (California Pizza Kitchen is another I can think of) with value for money. Had the Fiber and the Monte Carlo (on different occasions).This location has changed their menu so sadly these delicious salads are no longer available! Probably shouldn't order beef tendon from what looks to be a shrimp wonton specialist. But I was hungry and so gave it a shot. Price is an it high given portion and taste.They only serve egg noodle here, (i.e. no rice string, rice noodle etc). As with all other derivatives of Mak Un, portions are small (bowl was bigger here though).Beef tendons quite hard and not tender. Flavor was normal. I've been here multiple times and every time it's amazingly delicious ! I've tried the grass fed beef bolognese rice with egg, beef and leek rice, and the wild halibut. Good balance of vegetables. I have walked by Paul Lafayet at K11 quite a few times and always wanted to try.Finally tried the Blueberry Chocolate dome. It's a rich, chocolate mouse encasing a small blueberry core. I must say that the balance between blueberry and chocolate is probably 20/80. Although I love chocolate, given the name of the item I was expecting something with a little bit more balance. Nonetheless, this was excellent.At HKD 40 a pop, this is as pricey as the Mandarin Cake Shop. I recently came upon this place on Openrice and wanted to try it out. Their lunch menu has quite a few selections and includes a soup, a mains, a dessert, and a set drink. Prices range from $78 to $108. Decor is modern, white themed. There are views of the other buildings nearby. I think the view might be more attractive at night. Service was good, smiles and attitude from the servers. They have a high tea set for two( with the 3 tiered trays of sandwiches, cakes, and other goodies). Other patrons were ordering that, so I might come back and try with a friend.FoodI went with a baked pork loin with tomato and cheese. It came with cooked vegetables and french fries. It would have been nice if they had asked what sides you would want, as I would not have chosen french fries. Too "heaty". The pork loin was flavorful but a bit tough. Everything else was good. I'm no expert on french fries, but I tried one and it seemed pretty good.Dessert was blueberry cheesecake. Quite delicious. Exceeded my expectations. I chose a hot cappucino for the set drink. I've been here for both dinner and late night.Their BBQ pork is really excellent. I always order a BBQ pork rice I am here. The right balance of fat and meat, it is very flavorful and tender.
