SUSHIRO (TKO Plaza)
2025-06-29
It is not a place to go for fine quality omakase sushi and sashimi. This is more of a casual, family friendly join. Kids love their udon and ramen. My kids favorite are the beef udon and pork broth ramen. The serving size is just perfect for kids even though the broth is not comparable to what you get in speciality ramen shop. My family’s favorite sushi is the broiled miso salmon sushi (mini rice). The quality varies each time we go, sometimes a bit over-charred, sometimes under-charred but it is our must-order and we usually go through 6-8 plates. Why we love this? The taste of savory-sweet miso glaze, caramelized under high heat that nicely balances the salmon's natural richness. And the way Sushiro does it, the salmon remains "tender and moist" inside, with a lightly charred surface. We usually end our meal with a green tea parfait. As you can see this time, it came a bit melted. Usually this is not the case, perhaps they are too busy and left it outside for too long before sending it over. …Read More

This small place no longer has outdoor seating at the side alley. They do only takeaway and delivery (Keeta and Foodpanda) when I went early June 2025. My favorite is still their Tom Yum rice noodles. With huge prawns, oyster mushrooms, bean sprouts, coriander, and cherry tomatoes, it is a near-flawless execution of Tom Yum rice noodles. I can’t praise enough the balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy of this dish, deeply satisfying! I must also highlight the use of specially designed takeaway container that separates the broth from the noodles. This ensures the noodles do not get mushy, so you still get to enjoy soft-textured noodles the way it should be at home.…Read More

Pad Thai with Pork Neck
Baan Phadthai

The presentation looks good, I was quite surprised by the pretty plating. Taste wise, the Pad Thai is pretty soggy. They are quite generous with bean sprouts and that is crunchy. Not a dish that I would recommend ordering unless they have different chefs stir-frying this. I think you are better off ordering something else from their menu.…Read More

Great place for Malaysian food. Love that they have a jar of sambal at the table so I don’t have to keep asking for extra servings of sambal. My personal favorite is Cha Kway, as it is hard to get this in Hong Kong and the chef did this simple hawker dish very well. It is like Penang’s char koay kak. The Prawn Mee is good too, rich broth with spicy kick, with a dollop of sambal and huge prawns, crunchy bean sprouts and fish cakes. My kids love the Nasi Lemak as the sambal is not too spicy (they can’t take it if it is too spicy), with fragrant coconut rice and they absolutely rave about the crispy fried chicken. We went during lunch time so the lunch set come with drink and dessert. For dessert, we had sesame dumplings, nice way to end the meal.…Read More
