Superb avocado toast
Filters Lane
2017-05-15
Amazing hot chocolate with high quality dark cocoa and foam art was followed by sunny side up eggs on toast with mashed avocado, Parma ham and side salad. The egg had perfectly runny yolk, the salad was sweet and crisp and the dressing just the right side of tangy. Attentive service.…Read More

Terrible service, place has gone downhill
Tim Ho Wan, the Dim-Sum Specialists
2016-04-17
Quality of food has gone downhill at this joint, which is a shame as we used to go here all the time. Staff are incredibly rude and are only interested in seating the masses of tourists who are fooled into eating at this overrated place. …Read More

Poor value for money, mediocre food and ambiance
Fatty Crab Hong Kong
2014-04-25
The whole experience was terrible: bad service, unimaginative food, loud music.  I almost didn't want to give the restaurant any money at the end, left a really bad taste in my mouth!  At the start, the Front of house had a stuck up attitude, really rude and unhelpful.  I know there are no reservations but making a table of 6 wait for over an hour at 6pm on a Friday is really frustrating.  We sat at the bar and I ordered a mohito.  Drink was very watery and not even a lot of mint leaves.  Next thing is the ambiance in the restaurant was awful because of the pounding music, more suitable for a club, which was at such a high volume we had to shout to speak to each other.  Which meant the noise level was even higher.  Not conducive to a nice calm after-work dinner.  Food was so-so, the attempt at fusion made little impression.  Felt like they had just dumbed down some of the dishes to make it taste "home-style".  Also not impressed by the chipped plates it came on.  We started off with the papaya and mango salad, the main flavour was lime and chilli, no depth to the spices.  We thought about ordering sliders but one (ONE!!!) slider was $120!  No way.  We couldn't even order the famous Chilli Crab because their supplier had not delivered any that day.  Fatty duck was good, crispy and moist but not stand-out flavour.  The crispy pork and watermelon pickle was great, fat melting in our mouths, but again you could make this at home by deep-frying belly pork as again there was very little seasoning.  The sea bass Penang had a lot of lemongrass and spices and this was worth getting, the fish was fresh and lightly cooked.  We all enjoyed that one!   All of the dishes came trickling out of the kitchen, one by one, with about 10 mins between each dish.  Well, not like there was enough space on the table anyway.  But in particular, our kangkong belacan arrived a good 15mins after the final meat dish arrived... so we sat eating vegetables for the last course.  Even sharing 6 dishes (no rice) we were not full at the end.  Avoid this restaurant, it's not worth your time and money. …Read More

Fresh and crispy!
Seasalt
2013-09-04
Delicious Aussie-style fish and chips (and I'm British, we know good fish and chips!) We had the battered cod with red rice and "The Lot" with chips - prawn skewer, cod fillet, halloumi chunk, calamari - and a side salad with free dressing, amazing aioli and yummy tartare sauce. Cod was fresh, flaky and expertly battered. The red rice was al dente and could have used more flavour to combat with the salty sauces. The other option of "The Lot" was great value at $195 which included all the extras which is a nice variety to share. Prawns were plump, fleshy and moist, there was a huge chunk of fried halloumi, generous serving of calamari plus one cod portion. Chips were fluffy and crisp and went very well with the homemade aioli. Very fast serve time and friendly and helpful staff.  Tiny restaurant though so we will probably get takeout next time.  Spent $250 for both of us (no drinks and no service charge) and we were full and satisfied! Would definitely go there again even after the 20% opening discount ends.…Read More
