Haven't had such an extravagant hotpot out in a restaurant for a really long time, just cuz I always stay home for it hahahha but I do admit that going out every now and then is nice. The ambiance was much better than I expected from the lift entrance and it was an expansive space. We ordered soooo much food this was enough meat for 3 meals honestly. The soup was really milky and i though the flowers were a nice touch. I didn't notice the meat rose on top of my platter until we were too full to eat anymore haha so that was actually enough beef for another meal!…Read More

What a good find! I've never ventured into the little alleyways of quarry bay so I was nicely surprised with dinner at @the_red_cuisine. We got the deep fried mantous which had a nice crisp to them, the scrambled egg with marinated lamb, and one of their signature Claypot fish with pickled vegetables. Looking for a good yakiniku fix got me all the way in Tsim Sha Tsui at H Zentre trying to find the entrance to @saburo_japanese_yakiniku. Pretty spacious seating and decor from the get go.We started with a salad with slices of cold wagyu, then came our sashimi platter and the meats. Wagyu is a must, but we also tried grilling chicken hearts ourselves for the first time and it was surprisingly really good, like really good. Maybe I'm just great on the grill kakakkaka but no it's really tender and fresh. We even got a wagyu rice, which , for sure, may have been too much wagyu even for me, but in a good way. I don't get to walk around the maze of Harbour City much so I was surprised at all the new places popping up here and there. The entrance of @voynich.hk stands out though because of its colonial design and speakeasy-like entrance. What a huge space between, there's the ala carte concept and another hot pot concept too. Ww got a couple of there signatures including the wagyu beef wrap, the seafood soup, sweet and sour pork, drunken chicken, fried rice and a lovely sugary dessert. What better way to counter the heat than with even more heat? Heat as in hot curry and heat as in spicy sausage. Man did it burn! I've been ordering 8potshk for takeaway every morning after a night out since I moved to Sheung Wan, so it's nice to try it out at their store in Causeway Bay! I got 2 pots, 2 drinks, and even added a side of angus beef, all at just over $300. I love thier pots cuz it feels like there's endless toppings and ingredients inside. You can just keep digging and digging for new flavours. Im always a loyal fan of the garlic beef soup, so this time i also tried the cheese milk which was interesting. Got me lovely padron peppers, coldcuts on a toastada, a spanish must have croquettes, and whole prawns in garlic oil with toasted po ieces of bread on the side. Potato bravas go well with everything so im so glad they came. We also got a cherky jug of red sangria to wash everything down. The jug design was so pretty! Their tasting menu ($388) has 9 items thats bound to leave you satisfied.Those beef cheeks were sooooooo tender I loved it with the sauce too. Our tasting menu came with a squid ink paella as well with crispy calamari on top, a thickkk cut of sea bass with roasted vegetables, tomato salad using a variety of tomatoes which I thought was pretty cool, and of course two desserts. Now I've also found a new bar n outdoor spot with snacks to pair!At @j.moon.lounge, this creamy mentiako pasta with pan fried scallops was my favourite. But we thought we might not be full enough so we got the signature Jmoon pizza with hidden pieces of deathly PINEAPPLE which thankfully I picked out cuz I'm allergic. We also got single chicken wings to munch on, and of course 2 cocktails. Sushi Jun is my fams go to, and i think a place where the chef knows you and banters is so much more fun. We started off with several cuts of white fish, then a shellfish medley that i would've avoided if it werent for the aromatic abalone slices that got me asking for a portion as well. Chef prepared the abalone slices fresh from the shell, tossed it ina stone pot and flambe - ed it with truffle and butter, DAMN. Another highlight was this hugeass deepfried scallop parted midway and stuffed with uni before served with a nori wrap. So good. It came with a shirako tempura, bomb on bomb! Oh and of course, the crab from the cover photo, slightly torched crab roe and meat. DelishhhhhhThe other half of the satusfying omakase we had, this fatty piece of sesred otoro mannnnn making me crave it as i type! Been a while since I've been to @honjohk again even though it's so close to my new place! We went on a Monday evening and there were quite a lot of table reservations.We had a mixture of their new dishes and the tasting menu. Started with a beef tataki with sprinkles of toasted rice, a tofu salad, some sushi, a very ncie and crunchy corn tempura that came with 4 different kinds of salt and a soft shell crab with green tabasco mayo. For meats we had grilled pork belly skewers and a biggggggg ass stone pot with beef rice inside. We mixed up the soft boil egg with bits of the crunchy rice on the bottom and it was a smooth finish to the savoury dishes. We had 2 desserts to finish, including ice cream with all kinds of fruits, including the deadly PINEAPPLE. I don't usually go to all you can eat places but this was such a good deal!We got this masssssiveee boat loaded with all sorts of beef, pork, chicken, seafood and vegetables. Then just when we thought that WA sit, another bowl of meat came, and this was all before we used the ordering function! They had over 25 kinds of beef to choose from, including a really juicy thick cut beef tongue. I took full advantage of ordering through QR code and got an order from almost every cut of meat. Wanted something easy for dinner and walked into @ramenkureha in Tai Hang, always live myself a boutique-y place that's small and cosy. I know this is a Ramen place but I thought I took a pretty good photo of the minced chicken skewer ($34) so that's the cover!
