I have been thinking of trying Orange Tree for a while as that is the only Dutch restaurant I know in HK.During the restaurant week, I went there with a friend to give it a trial. It was recently relocated to LKF. The internal decoration and ambience was pleasant and artistic.The three-course set dinner provided multiple choices for appetizer, main course and dissert. I selected the wagyu carpaccio, grilled Dutch milk fed veal loin and tiny pancakes with ice cream.For the carpaccio, it was very beautifully presented. But the beef is not like the typical wagyu I am familiar with, which usually has fat evenly imbedded to give it juicy and tender. With the cheese and salad, the carpaccio tasted not bad.The veal loin was actually a little overcooked. The sauce saved it to some extent with a good flavor. The roasted potato at the side was actually the most impressive part of the dish.The tiny pancakes were satisfying. They were not too sweet, and went very well with the ice cream. I remember reading in some reviews that this was one of the most popular courses of the restaurant and I was not surprised by that.Overall, it’s an acceptable meal.
