I am a noddles lover. I always prefer noodles than rice. So, going to Ramen places for food always pose an issue - the soup base always contains meat. Although I am no longer a full vegetarian and only observe 10 vegetarian days in a lunar calendar, i still prefer vegetarian food over meat anytime. Bravo to the team not to just remove meat from a ramen soup recipe but to find its own recipe. I had the truffles soup base with fresh noodles which was delicious. Not salty and very well balanced. This is definitely one of the best vegan noodles I have had. I also like the eggplants and the tofu in the noodles. I have also ordered the dumplings on the side, which I like. Not sure what the fillings are but not just like any other vegetables dumplings. I read from some of the comments that they find this noodles too soft. I actually think this is because it is Chinese noodles and not Japanese ramen noodles (which normally contains eggs and not vegan). I do see if the noodles are thicker, it would be too much like udon which you can choose instead. So, it may be difficult to make it al dente but perhaps something to explore. It has been a year since I have last been to Berliner and the last time was with the German gang. I remember the last meal was still very nice and quite authentic German food. So, H and I decided to come here for lunch. We have ordered a cold cut platter and a Flammkuchen, and some Weissbier. Well, I know we are in this carbs are bad kind of era, but only serving two small buns for the whole cold cut platter? We have to order 8 additional buns at $8 per piece without prior notice. Then, the Flammkuchen is too crispy and dry. It is alright but no longer the nice Flammkuchen I have had here before. The funny thing is that the Weissbier was poured without the cap, and poured as flat as a cola. Of course I have to order another one at an additional charge. I was told the waitress pouring the beer was new so somehow it's my problem that the beer was poured in such a way. Very interesting.…查看更多
