my go-to cafe in Jordan! Love the naanbread(:
Cafe REVOL
2018-09-10
Love the coffee here. They’ve got options of fruity and nutty blend. Their coffee is often slightly bitter, with a note of roasted/ burnt chocolate when sipped with the crema on top. Nice frothy milk foam!I adore their sweet, airy bread which is often nicely toasted. 🌟 I’m particularly impressed by their latest special - naan brad with sriracha lemon aioli and hummus! The zest of lemon upped the game of the garlicky aioli dip. Felt a tad bit of spice from the sriracha but honestly, it wasn’t obvious to taste. Love the hint of lemon in the hummus and the slightly grainy texture of it!! The edges of the naan were nicely sealed with oil! Nice crust on the edge yet with airy and soft touch! Heaven(:…Read More

Nice and chill ambience - impressive for it was a Sunday arvo! love the greenery out there(:Hearty and fresh fillings in the bagel! Generous slices of salmon, tomatoes and pieces of cabbages were all I love! The cream cheese brought every ingredient together and made the one bagel I’d come back for! The milk-coffee ratio of the flat white was on point with well-balanced flavors! I’ll deffo come back again!…Read More

TEA HUB
2018-08-23
Indeed a tea hub. Was particularly impressed by the great variety of tea, tea infused ice cream and desserts Tea Hub has to offer. I appreciate how they educate the customers on the origin and benefits of different teas(:Food set was just so so. The matcha cold noodles were al dente and rich in the matcha flavor but the tea flavor in food wasn’t as pronounced as it should have been. FYI I had to refer to the menu when writing the tags of the food on my first picture. Desserts are the new main! My favourite was the baked earl grey cake. Well-balanced infusion with creamy cheese and firm texture! The chiffon cake was another bomb! Airy and soft, combined with bits and pieces of earl grey tea leaves, giving the rich tea aroma and grainy texture. The soft and gooey mochi added some more characters to the cake. Yet it’s rather plain so it kinda felt like a separate part from the chiffon. …Read More

Rings Coffee

I’ve been here twice. Came all the at to Kowloon City both times. Rigid me ordered the same thing yet that’s a proof that the quality is consistent-ly awesome! Be it peak or non peak hours, the aroma of coffee has always been inviting. We were literally the only customers the first time we came since it’s an afternoon on a weekday. I visited the cafe on a Sunday the second time. Full house but customers didn’t seem to have to wait for long. The avocado on toast was delicious gastronomically as it is aesthetically. There was generous amount of sliced avo and smashed avo, which was topped off with an ordinary sunny side up and some paprika. The flavor was expectedly good. The ciabatta was crunchy and airy. Not the best avo on toast I’ve had in terms of the richness and layers of flavor but definitely above average! And I’ll come for more for sure! Flat white. Well balanced espresso-milk ratio. Rich and nutty! …Read More

I’d suggest you not to keep your expectations high after reading the other reviews just so you will like the food better (: We came because of the high rating on OpenRice. Though we had to wait for 45 minutes for a table, the aroma of Italian food - the roasting of Italian pizza crusts and bread felt so appealing to be sniffed that we were more than willing to wait amidst the rain. So after waiting for the 45 mins, we ordered some signature dishes according to the recommendations of the other reviews as many of you might do. Salad. The veggies were fresh and well blended with the vinegar. The bread was crunchy on the outside and airy but a bit too soft and wet as it soaked up the garlic butter. The SIGNATURE! Tada! Fries with duck egg yolk (黃金炒薯條)!The egg yolk powder wrapped evenly around the crispy fattie fries, filling every bite with a strong salty savour. Impressive at first but honestly, I felt like I was gonna have high blood pressure when eating the fries towards the end of the meal. Sorry, fans of the fries. Good for a try still (: The risotto and pizza were disappointing. As a risotto fanatic and with the price of $188, I was expecting scallops without the frozen smell and rice with the al dente texture or some firmness. Unfortunately, it’s otherwise. Not only was the rice not chewy enough, the risotto was more oily than creamy. The pizza sounded like a good fusion between the Japanese okonomiyaki (大阪燒) and the Italian pizza kneading skills ("手轆薄餅"技巧) I suppose. But really, it really was such a perfect fusion that the okonomiyaki layer would separate with the crust. Here comes the dessert. There was some condensed water on top of the cakes but they did not really affect the taste. Crème brûlée cheesecake was recommended by the staff. Delicate combo and it did honestly give the flavors of both crème brûlée and cheesecake. The 48-hour cold drip coffee cake (48 小時冰滴咖啡蛋糕, which was translated as ice blended coffee cake by the Villa Villa.) tasted somehow like ordinary instant coffee. Both cakes were alright but there was no wow factor. …Read More

Fresca

Being a flexitarian (one who goes vegetarian most of the time yet still eat meat of limited quantity at times), the wide range of salad ingredients, and the heartiness and freshness are enlightening for the mind and stomach! Good inspiration for meal prep;) There are Korean tofu, Vietnamese veggies and curry. The dedicated combo of shredded/ diced veggies and fruits, and nuts is my fav! Though the $70 for three toppings may be pricey for some, it is definitely filling. Satisfying as it felt like a body cleanse and taste bud adventure together(:The choco tofu muffin is something I miss dearly. The moist and the richness of chocolate flavor 👌 …Read More

As soon as my friend and I stepped into the furniture store, we could already smell the strong coffee aroma- much inviting for a coffee lover! Agree with another review here that the seating and decors creates the hygge to chill at (: The table we were sitting at is lovely yet ironically wobbly. Coffee ... just tasted like coffee. No nuttiness, fruitiness nor syrup sweetness that shall come from the espresso. Th coffee wasn’t kept warm enough til I finished it. Average but felt better in the environment I bet.…Read More

It may not be the most authentic Mexican restaurant but the food is divine 👌My favorite is this nachos pot!Flavorsome. Pot was still warm even after we finished the food in there! The cocktail was unexpectedly luscious! Reposado and mezcal were paired well with the sour sweet grilled pineapple! The smoky aroma has certainly upped the gusto! Appreciate also the drinks menu that offers substantial choice of tequila! PS the restaurant is located at a very dark alley. It took us sometime to find the place(:…Read More

Coyote Bar & Grill

Ordered a taco and an enchilada*. One of them was vegetarian and the other was chicken. Can’t remember which one is which since the taste of other ingredients kind of overrode that of the chicken/ veggies. The chicken though was dry and rough in texture. The tortillas of the tacos were thin like flavorless papers which absorbed the moisture from the food and broke as we picked the tacos from the rack. The black beans and salsa were good. The extensive choice of margarita was impressive. Quality was so-so. I bet that’s not what to expect though given how they mix and match margaritas with everything imaginable, providing such humongous amount of choice. Gimmicky. The idea of fish bowl, that is, 2.5L margarita in a fish bowl with fish candies, is intriguing too. Appreciate that they use stainless steel straws. Ambience and service are great (with a lousy men yelling at times but it’s okay)! * enchilada: a burrito covered with red chili sauce and cheese; is normally made with a corn tortilla; usually contains meatref: http://www.erinnudi.com/2015/03/18/difference-between-burritos-and-chimichangas/…Read More

Love the idea of co working space so I was drawn to this cafe for a tad bit of inspiration. It feels welcoming and cozy with the widely opened door, and wooden and bamboo decors. Flat white was average and the flavor was rather bland. Plating of the so-called eggs on toast (choose two eggs of your style and add-ons at your cost) was kind of random. The food was alright. One thing I really like about this cafe is its use of stainless steel straws instead of the plastic ones 🌱 classy and eco friendly! …Read More

A taste bud heaven 😋
NINETYs (皇后大道東)
2018-07-24
I’m ultra satisfied with my visit to Ninety’s. The pairing of blueberries with the chocolate blend of flat white has been especially impressive. The sweetness and fruitiness of the berries have upped the expression of chocolate, nuts and vanilla aroma to a fuller extent. Avocado and scrambled eggs are never not my staples in brekkies. These avo and eggs though have enlightened my taste bud, with the tint of ginger spice in the eggs and the avocado slices topped off with some finely chopped, crunchy nuts and sesame! We are so satiated in physical, mental and aesthetic senses! Definitely gonna visit again soon 🌟 …Read More

Used to be my favourite go-to cafe 以前係我最鍾意既 cafe
18 Grams
2018-06-07
18 Grams used to be my favourite. I have been recommending this cafe to my friends and featuring it several times on my social media. Their flat white never fails- often aromatic and fruity, with a thick and creamy body. Yet, there have been two unwelcoming incidents my friends and I have encountered that have made us rethink on whether the cafe is worth visiting. There was one time my friend sat alone at the table, enjoying the coffee. The staff requested her to sit at the bar table in a blunt tone without excusing himself. The recent incident being... M: Me     G: 18 Grams Staff Visit at around 5:50pm. Ain't sure if the usual tea sets are still available. M: Is there no more tea sets today? G: No (blunt tone)M: Ah... it's gonna be more expensive then to order the toast and coffee separate. (feeling unfortuante)G: If you think about it, buying sesaparte and tea sets are about the same price.(Being a frequent customer, I know my usual toast tea set, with a beverage upgrade to flat white is about 80-90HKD and buying separate makes it around 40HKD more expensive.)M: Ah.. hmm I don't think so. (feeling unfortuante and unsure what to get for my tea time)G: Do you not wanna buy coffee then? (judgmental and raising his voice)M: Are you telling me to not buy cofee then.... G: (sarcastic and playful tone) Up to you~ Honestly, I felt offeneded and disappointed that i was able to hold my temptation and leave the cafe I used to love so so much. Two times of such unwelcoming service is more than enough. The CS of the cafe seriously needs an upgrade.…Read More
