Extremely poor service and poor food
TRi

Apart from the nice decoration, nothing was good about the restaurant.Service was extremely poor.1. Waitress was scolding us when we were slightly late for the table (but we had the courtesy to call and tell them about it). After we arrived, they made us wait for at least 5 minutes while they set the table, while insisting that we must return the table by 8:15pm.2. They sat us at a table right next to kitchen where there was constant smoke coming out from the kitchen (as there was no door to the kitchen). They refused to change table for us (despite we having a young toddler and I'm asthmatic), claiming there's no further available tables. But there were the entire bar table empty, and several tables nearby available.3. I ordered coconut rice. After 5 mins, they said their rice cooker broke down and unable to offer this anymore. Asked me if I would like to cancel this on the bill. I was like, so are you going to charge me for something that you can't offer?4. The fried morning glory was totally soaked in some red sauce, which was very salty. I asked if the chef can just fried it without the sauce, the chef said that is the only fried vegetable that he knows how to make and that's the only vegetable on the menu.5. The deep fried soft shell crab was the worst ever I've ever eaten in my life.6. The nasi goreng was incredibly sweet.Honestly I went to Bali many times and had Balinese food in Jakarta with local Indonesian, and the taste were totally different from this. Not authentic. And staff were really unaccommodating and unfriendly, will NEVER come back.…Read More

i came here three times but first time in the new location. i like the new location as they have finally got rid of the metal rods that made noises when people have to sit close to the back seats. But this is a much smaller restaurant.... I prefer this location as the rent should be cheaper, so they aren't going to increase our food prices "yet" actually this time i just got off the plane and the manager was very kind to let me store my luggages at their front desk and use their 24 hour CCTV to monitor it. it was really thoughtful indeed. this is a very useful thing to cater for travellers since they're right above the HK station.this time i had 梅林特選豬柳飯, it was really good, the egg was nice and sauce was really good. agree with the other comments that this place is not as good as Tonkichi but you can't get anything better than this in Central, especially in IFC at this price. So I will come back again. i actually quite like the special tea, i think it helps to get rid of the oil in the food, but some people says it tastes of burnt tea. note that 梅林特選豬柳飯 doesn't provide free vegetable. …Read More

This was recommended by a friend so I came to visit the restaurant without looking at Openrice.com Booked the table for a few friends in advance as I heard this is a busy place. The place was extremely packed and our seats were squeezed between a large group of noisy guests (actually half of the restaurant were full of noisy guests) and the window. My hair was actually touching the curtain. There are many set menu that offers good deals but I do not want to try raw food (sashimi -- many of the deals offer that nor shellfish) in a new restaurant so I opted for a la carte. We ordered a hot pot, quite disappointed that they didn't have any traditional Japanese soup base when this should be a Japanese restaurant. The soup pot took at least 20 mins to arrive. Luckily we were given some beans to keep us from starving. I ordered HK local beef, which took 1 hour to arrive. Their excuse was that they had to slice it when we order it. At least the beef tasted good when it finally arrived. Then I ordered lamb slices, which took another half an hour to arrive. The special offer food was faster, which was $10 an oyster, $18 a hairy crab. The baked lobster was also quite reasonable $138. Anyway, not a place I would come back.…Read More
